THEFUNDAMENTALPRINCIPLES
Engineersupholdandadvancetheintegrity,honoranddignityoftheengineeringprofessionby:

I.usingtheirknowledgeandskillfortheenhancementofhumanwelfare
II.beinghonestandimpartial,andservingwithfidelitythepublic,theiremployersandclients
III.strivingtoincreasethecompetenceandprestigeoftheengineeringprofessionand
IV.supportingtheprofessionalandtechnicalsocietiesoftheirdisciplines.

THEFUNDAMENTALCANONS
1.Engineersshallholdparamountthesafety,healthandwelfareofthepublicintheperformanceoftheir
professionalduties.
2.Engineersshallperformservicesonlyintheareasoftheircompetence.
3.Engineersshallissuepublicstatementsonlyinanobjectiveandtruthfulmanner.
4.Engineersshallactinprofessionalmattersforeachemployerorclientasfaithfulagentsortrustees,
andshallavoidconflictsofinterest.
5.Engineersshallbuildtheirprofessionalreputationonthemeritoftheirservicesandshallnotcompete
unfairlywithothers.
6.Engineersshallactinsuchamannerastoupholdandenhancethehonor,integrityanddignityofthe
profession.
7.Engineersshallcontinuetheirprofessionaldevelopmentthroughouttheircareersandshallprovide
opportunitiesfortheprofessionaldevelopmentofthoseengineersundertheirsupervision.
