Research & Review Process in COMPSEA

The Research & Reviews in Computer Science, ICT Education and its Applications (COMSIEA) is
intended to the rapid publication of research papers on all areas of Computer Science, Computer
Education, Information and Communications Technology and its applications. Topics include but not
limited to the following:

All contributions shall be rigorously refereed and selected on the basis of quality and originality of the
works as well as the extent of interest of readers. The journal publishes the most significant new
research in all areas of ICT being done in the world today, thus ensuring its scientific priority.

Types of Contributions

Manuscripts submitted to the COMSEA should be Short Communication or letter, Review or Full
Paper.

1. Short Communication or letter: Short Communication or letter is a report of unusual

urgency, significance and interest originating in all areas of ICT. A statement from author
describing why communication meets these criteria is required. Short Communication is
restricted to 2000 words or 3 journal pages. A letter is a one page report of the research in
progress. This limit will be strictly followed. The text should be broken into sections however, an
introductory paragraph should provide a general context of the work explaining its significance
and indicating why it should be of interest to scientists in other areas while the end paragraph
should summarize the major conclusions that can be drawn pointing to possible future
directions.

2. Review or Research in Progress: Review introduces the reader to a particular area of an

authors research through a concise overview of a selected topic. The content should balance
scope with depth, it should be a focused review of 9-10 journal pages. Reference to important
work from others that is significant to the topic should be included. Review may/or may have
experimental section.

3. Full Paper: Full Paper must either be of a current general interest or of great significance to a
more specialized readership. It is peer reviewed and report details of studies that have not
been published previously, except in the form of primary communications. Manuscript should
be derived into sections including experiments or simulation results. The length of a Full Paper
should not be more than 15 pages.

Paper Format and Writing Styles

The ACM format for writing research papers will be followed. The provided MS-Word template should be used for all
paper formats. Authors are requested to not modify the provided template while formatting their camera-ready
submission. Each submission will be analyzed and if any formatting error is found, it may be sent to the authors for
proper re-formatting. If the template is not used then the authors have to assure the correct paper formatting
otherwise the camera-ready submission may not be accepted for inclusion in the Journal.

Please email the electronic version of the paper to comsiea@wvsu.edu.ph. Portal for the online
submission will be established very soon.
Publication and Fee

Accepted papers will be published in the Journal on Computer Science, Education and its Applications.
It will be processed at the WVSU Press including its ISSN number. All papers accepted for publication,
will be published in the COMSEA Journal under an ISSN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support, as
long as the camera-ready submission, registration and copyright document have been received.

Publication Fee is 50 US$ for graduate students and 200 US$ for researchers and scientists.
Undergraduate papers will be charged of Php 200 as publication fee. Main authors will receive a copy
of the Journal and 10 re-prints of the published paper.
