Automated Cargo Management

System
The Project entitled “Automated Cargo
Management System (CMS)” deals with cargo operations (export
and import) for an agency.CMS systems attempt to integrate all
data and processes of an organization into a single unified system.
It gives the detailed description about the rules and regulations of
the cargo management. This site also provides the facility to check
the current status of the shipment. Here users are shippers,
consignees and the employees of the agency. Users can view the
details of available flights, cargo rates, source and destination
airports, billdetails etc.

The main roles of the users are

 Searching

 Registration

 Booking
  Tracking

The main roles of employees are

 Prepare Air way Bill Based on Invoice, Packinglist and booking

details

 Shipping

 Billing, both import and export

 Data updations such as flight scheduling informations,

instructions regarding shipping and track details

The main modules in the project are

Booking
The booking module includes cargo booking procedures. The
existing users can book online. For unauthorized users there is a
provision for registration. For booking user must enter the following
details

Exporter, consignee name

Flight name

Route information

Source port and destination port

The name and category of item which is being exported

Approximate weight etc

Shipping

 The Shipping process deals with shipping the item to the

destination. For this some documents and information’s are
needed.

 After booking the user must prepare invoice and packing list

 With the details of booking, invoice and packing list the

employee or administrator prepare the airway bill for required
flight for shipping operations

 When the consignment is reached on the destination airport

the authorized person will inform the agency through mail

Billing
Export billing: Shipping bill it requires the details of booking,
invoice, packing list, airway bill and shipment. It also includes other
shipment handling charges

Import billing: It requires details of the received shipments

Schedules and Flight Information

This contains the details of

 The available Flights

 Time and day of arrival and departure

 Route details

 Source and destination airports

Facilities and Instructions

 This contains cargo facility details and closest facility details

 Here the users can get the details of local and international
airports

 The Instructions the rules and regulations regarding the

shipment

 There are separate rules for animal’s shippers and others

Rates
The shipping costs depends on a variety of factors

The size and weight of the shipment

The category of the item the commodity and the type of service the
user choose will affect the rates

In addition to shipping rates additional fees and fuel surcharges

may apply to the shipment
