Observation

1. Interview different stakeholders and inquire about their roles in curriculum

development.

taken so much time, effort, and
preparation.
As a school administrator, I am the one

Community The community or rather the
environment affects both the learner and
the curriculum. Community members
may provide materials in existing local
community which could suffice to the
needed materials to implement the
curriculum on the other hand, the
condition of the environment that the
student belongs to could also affect the
behavior and the concentration of the
student that is why it is important that
the environment where the student
belongs could somehow be what we call
conducive to learning

My analysis

1. From the interview I have seen that the role of each person is different from each
other. We have the students which was defined somehow similar to that of a measuring
tool where we could see the points where the curriculum could improve upon and
indicate which part the curriculum is thriving. If they successfully finish the course and
met every objective and competency that was expected of me, it shall reflect positive
results for the curriculum and the curriculum itself is said to be a good one. Now all
these key elements are to work as one. If one of them fails to participate, it shall
compromise the very flow of the curriculum and goals may not be met or that planned
learning experiences for the students would weaken and learning would not be
concrete.
2. The most important stakeholder would be the learners. A curriculum is tailored to fit
the very educational need of the students. As Mam Sotto has discussed, the first step
in creating a curriculum is to assess the needs of the learners. This serves as a
benchmark for establishing the goals and objectives for the curriculum to work upon.
The students are the very benefactors of the curriculum and it is also because of them
that a curriculum can be said to be working efficiently and objectives are met when the
students are said to complete the course with the competencies required of them.

3. The parents or rather, the family plays a very important role. They are one of the
factors that comprises the hidden curriculum. The upbringing and the habits that they
acquire when they leave the four corners of the room. They are also the ones whom
most of the students ask for assistance in regards to school activities. Permission to be
involved on some major school activities and let us also be aware of the fact that the
parents are the one who finance for the school needs of the students that is why they
also deserve to know the quality of learning that their children are getting.

My Reflections

1. Cooperation is a very important element in designing a curriculum. As future

educators we should be aware of each stakeholders role. It is not just us teachers that
gravely influence the delivery of the curriculum or rather, the curriculum itself. We
should know that a curriculum cannot be tested as a working curriculum or a failure
unless we have learners/students. They serve as an indicator whether there are weak
points in a tailored curriculum and they can measure out the extent of the curriculum for
it to develop into a more efficient one. Second is the role of the teachers, yes we are
the one who directly deliver the curriculum to the students and we should know the
curriculum by heart as well as the subject matter and methodology that we are to use in
order to achieve the goals and competencies that our students are to gain once they
finish the course. Third is the school leaders or the administrators. They are the very
head of implementation of every curriculum. They also hold the heavy role of making
sure that the very flow of the curriculum is smooth sailing and is in the right track to
avoid confusion and for the teachers to best understand and be guided upon. Fourth
are the parents. They comprise a part of the hidden curriculum. Aside from the fact that
they are the ones who finance for the schooling of their children, the parents influence
their children with the values and habits that they present to them, acquiring these for
the students to also share it to others. The parents consent also affect the students
exposure for their learning whether they would be given permission to participate or not.
The community involves the school boards and provides local and indigenous
knowledge in the school curriculum, and finally, the other agencies that are associated
with the curriculum. Now, all stakeholders are important. Each of them plays individual
roles which help in the implementation and further improvement of the curricula. And
through their efforts, they contribute greatly to further improvement of not only our
curriculum, but also the improvement of our nation or country.
