Rationale
I choose to do this area of research because of the air pollution observed from motor vehicles
and the smell from pile up garbage. Therefore, it was decided by the researcher to conduct this
research to find out the activities of the community cause air pollution.
Method of Investigator
My name is Alecia Wright. I am a student of the Edith Dalton James High and I am conducting
this investigation to gather information for my Social Studies CXC SBA on the topic Air
Pollution in the Red Hills Road area its causes and effect. I am requesting your assistance in

A total of thirty (30) questionnaires were printed and distributed to the members of the
community. Specific households, that is, households that had both male and female living at the
homes were chosen. In the sample it was noted there was three females to one male.
The thirty households that were selected were supplied with questionnaires and on the spot
questioning was done. However, five (5) questionnaires were incomplete because persons were
According to the diagram in Figure 1, sixty percent (60%) of the respondents stated that the
main cause of air pollution is the non collection of garbage each week in the community of Red
Hills, while twenty percent (20%) of the respondents stated that the burning of garbage is the
main cause of air pollution in the community. The smallest portion of the sample, eight percent
(8%) stated that other things may have contributed to air pollution in the community.
