Christmas In July
On July 14th FCC will be hosting a packing party for Operation Christmas Child. Everyone is invited. We will
meet in Fellowship Hall from 9am-noon. You can come and go anytime.
The Operation Christmas Child project sends shoeboxes, filled with gifts, to children in orphanages,
churches, schools, or hospitals around the world. We haven’t packed any boxes yet this year, so we need your
help. Please bring a few small items like soap, toothbrushes, hard candy, children’s T-shirts, or caps, balls,
dolls, matchbox cars, flashlights, or almost any item small enough to fit in a shoebox. Wrapping paper and
tape are always welcomed.
A booklet in the child’s own language titled “The Greatest Gift”, accompanies each box. This booklet
tells of Jesus’ love and sacrifice for each of them. The children share the Good News with extended families.
Samaritan’s Purse has reported a 40% decision rate from the shoebox gifts.
If you can help or would like more information as to how your children can fill a box for a needy child,
please contact Michele Schlough at 844-3214.
