I 1. lntroduction
Vinyl Ester Resins RIPOXYTM R-800 Series

RIPOXY R-802

RIPOXY R-806

REPOXY R-802 ard R-806 are vinyl ester resins that offer unique performanc and
a wide range of versatility.
They havJouttanding corosion rcsistance to a variety of acids and especially to
alkalies.
They also have outstanding mechanical properties such as resiliency and elongation,
whi;h can't be obtained with other types ofresin, especially suitable for large-sized
{llament winding prooess.
Low viscosity and rapid curing make RIPOXY R-802 and R-806 suitable to general
hand lay-up molding and other applications.

4. Applications

RIPOXY R-802 and R-806 can be genelally used in similar procedwes to those of
unsaturated Polyesters.

4-1. Itand lay-up

Add a ptomoter to liquid resin and mix well. Then add a catalyst just before use'
Perform after-cure process in principle after cured at ambient temperature'
T,?ical after-oue conditions:

b) 60'C for 5 hours
materials
For corosion resistant applications, laminate composition and reinforcing

Prcmoter: Cobalt naphthenate (6010 metal)
Promoter D (Showa Highpolymer Co', Ltd )

4-2. Filamert winding (FW)

Filament windiry plocess requires

a) Long Pot life,

b) Adaptability to heat curing, and
c) Good sudace drying ploPe1ty'
pmvides
For the purpose, the following catalyst system is rccommendable which
lower eiothermic temperature and minimized &fiitening'

Catalyst: CumenehYdroPeroxide
Promoter: Cobah naphtenate (670 metal)
Controller: Cudng controller R (Showa Highpolymer Co ' Ltd')
