EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Austin High Varsity Swimming Team Captain September 2013-Present

As a varsity member of the swim team, I attend pool practices 4 days
a week September-February and dry land practices 1 day a week
February-May. We also attend meets throughout the swim season. As
captain (appointed September 2016), I help supervise meets and
create a positive team atmosphere.

Travis Country Sharks Summer Swim League Every June Since 2009
As a member of the TC Summer League, I attend pool practices 4
days a week and attend meets on Saturdays.

Austin High School Garden Club September 2013-Present

As a member of the Garden Club, I meet with members every Friday
morning to tend to the plants in the campus garden. We compost
organic cafeteria waste and give a portion of our harvest back to the
cafeteria and teacher sponsors.

Austin High Vote Club February 2016-Present

As a co-founder and co-president of this club, I help conduct weekly
lunch meetings that encourage students of all political parties to learn
about their local, state, and national government in order to be
beneficial members of our democracy.

Austin High Math Club September 2016-Present

As a member, I attend weekly meetings to discuss mathematics
outside of our schools curriculum.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

Travis Country Sharks Summer Swim League Apprentice Coach Every June Since 2013
As an apprentice coach on the TC Summer League, I gain experience
working with kids from 5-14 years of age. Activities range from
teaching young kids to develop a rudimentary stroke to helping teens
improve their racing time through technique correction.

Academy for Global Studies Service Trips

Costa Rica Sophomore Trip Service included picking up trash January 2015
on lands belonging to the Bri Bri indigenous people, painting a Bri
Bri nursing home, and creating recycled planters at EARTH
University.
New Mexico Junior Trip Tutoring 2nd Graders in Math, English, May 2016
Science,and Social Studies at Tohajiilee Community School on the
Tohajiilee Indian Reservation.
