Introduction
This presentation helps to clarify what you get when looking at different FEMAP
packages
We will overview each package and discuss included features
For some of the more advanced packages, we will demonstrate some of the advanced
capabilities
FEMAP packaging is being changed to help organize product addons
Packaging organization shown on next slide

FEMAP Add-on Overview
FEMAP Dynamics
Solutions Included
Frequency Response (108, 111)
Includes Random Response
Transient Response (109, 112)
DDAM Response (187)
Complex Eigenvalue Response (107, 110)
Cyclic Frequency Response (118)
Primary solutions that are used are frequency
response, specifically for both sine and random
vibration analyses

FEMAP Optimization
Solutions Included:
Design Optimization (200)
This solution provides the ability to
apply design optimization loads and
lightweight structures based off
certain objectives

FEMAP Add-on Overview
Other Addons
Enterprise Extension
This solution adds the ability to run NASTRAN
outside of FEMAP via command line
Desktop versions only allow NASTRAN decks to
be run internal to FEMAP on the system that
created it
This is checked by having NASTRAN look at the
ENDDATA tag and determine if file has been edited
and created on same system
Rotor Dynamics
This adds the ability to analyze frequency
response for rotating systems
Specialized Add-on specifically for high-speed
rotating machinery

User Interface
When installed, as SAToolkit icon is placed in the toolbar area above the
graphics window in FEMAP.
The main user interface launches and attaches below the FEMAP
messages window.

Grid Point Force Processor
Calculates forces and force/unit length margins at user defined joints in the FEM.
Evaluate strength of bonded joints
Joint is defined using node and element groups.
Processes results from:
Sol 101
Sol 108 and 111 Requires the use of a DMAP supplied with the toolkit.

Random Processor
The random processor reads the results of a normal modes analysis and calculates
the response of a structure.
Base shake problem
The random processor is the equivalent of a modal frequency run (SOL 111)
Allows excitation in X, Y, and Z in the same run.
The supplied DMAP or delivery database must be used.
The model has to be constrained at one grid to simulate the base shake problem.
Requires a PSD curve input.
