Content Standard : Pupils will be able to :
2.1 Apply knowledge of sounds of letters to recognize words in linear and non linear texts.

Learning standards :
2.1.1 Able to identify and distinguish the shapes of the letters in the
alphabet
2.1.2 Able to recognize and articulate initial sounds in single syllable word.

Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:


i . Able to recognize and articulate initial sounds in single syllable word.
ii. Able to recognise pictures and name them.
iii. Able to segment words into phonemes to spell.
Activities :
1. Get pupils to articulate /s / and demonstrate phonic action.

2. Listen and repeat words on page 7 (textbook)


3. Pupils look and read the words aloud from the word cards.
4. Pupils match the word cards with pictures individually
5. Pupils pick a word card from a box, read and match them to the pictures on the board.

Content standard : 1.1 Pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation.

Learning Standard : 1.1.1 Able to listen to and respond to stimulus given with guidance:
a) environmental sounds
b) instrumental sounds
c) voice sounds

Objective: By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to listen and imitate the sounds they heard.

Activities:
1. Pupils name the objects in the picture.
2. Pupils imitate the sounds made from the objects shown in picture.
3. Pupils play some musical instruments.
4. Pupils imitate the sounds produced by each instrument.
5. Pupils name the farm animals shown in the picture.
6. Pupils listen to the sounds made by the animals through a laptop/radio.
7. Pupils imitate the sounds they hear.

i. Able to name the building

Activities:
1. The teacher will show the pictures with building.
2. The teacher will introduce them the name of the building.
3. Pupils will follow teacher to read the name of the building.
4. The teacher will give some writing exercise to the pupils.
5. The teacher will guide Thishan Raj for yesterdays lesson because he was absent yesterday.
6. The teacher will guide him to do his lesson.
