A Day in the Life of a Football Player
In this teaching activity, students complete a text about the daily routine of a football player
by asking and answering present simple questions.

Before class, make one copy of the two worksheets for each pair of students.

Procedure

Divide the class into two groups (A and B).

Give a copy of worksheet A to each student in Group A and a copy of worksheet B to each
student in Group B.

Students work together with the people in their group. They write down the questions they
need to ask to complete the gaps on their worksheet.

When they have finished, check the questions with each group.

Answer Key

Student A

1. What time does he get up?

2. What does he have for breakfast?
3. What does he do in the morning?
4. What time does he have lunch?
5. What time does the match start?
6. What does he do after the match?
7. What does he do when he gets home?

Student B

a. What time does he have breakfast?

b. What does he do in the morning?
c. What time does he go to the stadium?
d. What does he have for lunch?
e. What time does the match start?
f. What does he do in the evening?
g. What time does he go to bed?

Next, pair students A and B together.

Sit the students back to back, so they can't look at each other's worksheet.

The students ask their partner the questions they have prepared and fill in the gaps on their
worksheet.

When the students have asked all their questions, they check their answers and spelling.
