pedia,the freeonlineencyclopediathatanyonecan edit.The authorof the
piece,StacySchiff,intervieweda WikipediabureaucratnamedEssjay.2 Essjay
was thisWikipedian'susername- like manyothershe chose a pseudonym
in an attemptto maintainanonymity. In Essjay'scase,he claimedhe did this
because "he routinelyreceiveddeaththreats."Schiffs storydetailsEssjay's
onlineand offlinecredentials:
