Thank you very much for considering me for a position within your company. Currently,
I am a senior student at Loras College majoring in Accounting and minoring in Spanish.
I am applying because I believe that your company would provide a great opportunity to
gain experience within a professional organization, enable me to further my education in
the accounting profession, and learn how an office runs on a day to day basis. I was
made aware of this opportunity by the website of Indeed.
As you can see from my resume, I have been employed in different types of work
environments and I am currently in leadership positions through my campus activities.
Employed as a caddy for six years, I have developed a number of skills, trained new
caddies and have gained the respect of the men and women I work for. I learned to
work alongside both members and other employees, developed professionalism and
have gained a very strong work ethic This past summer I interned with Keeley
Construction, a small yet highly respected construction company in Illinois and it was a
great experience. What I took from my tenure there was a strong knowledge of Excel
and organizational skills which then propelled me to achieve my duties in a timely
manner. This semester I am currently interning at the respected law office of OConnor
& Thomas, Dubuque, IA as a tax intern. There Ive learned to be a professional in an
office environment and have experienced the knowledge and skills of a tax accountant.
This has helped me gain valuable insight into accounting principles. Being elected the
treasurer of the Loras Chapter of the Knights of Columbus is a great honor. It affords
me the opportunity to work alongside the financial officer and increase my knowledge of
accounting practices.
Day in and day out I am confident I will further my education both academically and
personally while employed at your company. I am a hard worker, detail-oriented and can
learn from, and adapt to, new assignments and situations quickly. I have a strong work
ethic, maintain a high level of professionalism and can turn constructive criticism into
positive results. I believe these qualities will make me successful in the accounting
profession.
