Year 1

Find an entry level job in advising students in academic or career

setting. Academic advising, career advising, TRiO, and Success Coach

are examples of positions that I will be on the look out during my job

search. My plan is to stay in that position for 2 or 3 years.


Find ways to integrate assessment into my work in order to develop my

skills in this area.

Year 2

Based on my NASPA/ACPA competency analysis areas of growth is

developing on my understanding of law and governance in higher

education in particular building knowledge through networking with

student affairs professionals and administrators. This also plays into

human resource management and finding opportunities to supervise

and manage teams to build leadership skills and be seen as a leader

on campus. I tend to think of how systems interact within an institution

and hope to ultimately to be able to advocate more efficient and

equitable processes.
Towards the end of my second year I will start thinking about

advancement in my current position or moving on to a position that

would bring more opportunities for professional growth and

development beyond assessment.
