Dennie Jean D.

Villarez
Grade 9 Pascal

1. He was lovesick, because of his unrequited love for Rosaline that was not made obvious in the
movie.
2. The Princes warning was with authority and it was well declared because all of the Capulets and
the Montagues was stopped from the fight.
3. Benvolio told Romeo to get out and look at other girls because he doesnt have to give her a
thought, theres a lot of other things to think about.
4. Benvolio and Romeo found out the Rosaline was on the guest list for the party. Naturally the
Montagues were not invited. Benvolio wanted Romeo to go, so he could see that there were other
girls there who were even prettier than Rosaline. He was trying to get Romeo over a broken heart.
Romeo went to the Capulet feast to see Rosaline, and for no other reason. He didn't believe there
was anyone prettier. This is in the play, and incontrovertible.
5. O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love; And I'll no longer be a Capulet.
6. He never once says that he will do it because Romeo and Juliet are so in love with each
other. Friar Laurence agrees to marry the two star crossed lovers because he thinks that
the marriage will perhaps end the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets.
7. He was a short-tempered, boastful and arrogant first cousin of Juliet. He never wanted to lose that
is why he asked Romeo for a duel.
8. When Mercutio was fighting for Romeo because he has dishonoured himself,Romeo was trying to
stop Tybalt from fighting but it ended up Mercutio being killed, Romeo was furious and ended up
killing Tybalt, the capulets went to Tybalt and Mercutio. The Prince decided to execute Romeo.
9. His honor was disgraded so he wanted to bring it back by winning in a duel against Romeo.
10. Because he killed Tybalt Juliets First cousin causing the two families to clash again.
11. It was sad and unfair all he did was to stop Mercutio and Tybalt from fighting with each other but
he lost a friend .
12. Nurse adviced Juliet to stay in the Capulets house and not to be sad because she will find him.
13. Friar Lawrence suggests that that Romeo fly to Juliet's chamber to comfort her before fleeing to
Mantua. In regards to comforting Juliet, the Friar suggests that Romeo not stay "till the watch be
set" (in other words, until the night watchman takes his post at the gates of Verona) because if
Romeo leaves before this, he can flee to Mantua.
14. Friar John replies that he was unable to deliver the letter because he was shut up in a
quarantined house due to an outbreak of plague. Friar Lawrence becomes upset, realizing that if
Romeo does not know about Juliet's false death, there will be no one to retrieve her from the tomb
when she awakes.
15. Romeo comments that nothing can be ill in the world if Juliet is well. Balthasar replies that nothing
can be ill, then, for Juliet is well: she is in heaven, found dead that morning at her home.
Thunderstruck, Romeo cries out Then I defy you, stars
16. In other words, the Apothecary knows it is wrong to sell the poison and infers that Romeo intends
to do harm with it, but ultimately he is so desperate for money that he is willing to take those risks.
17.Lady Montague- Died from a heart attack/heart break upon hearing about her
sons banishment or died because of grief that Romeo died (unclear)
Count Paris - Stabbed by Romeo in a duel. This scene is omitted from film
versions
Romeo - Took poison when he believed Juliet to be dead (though would have
seen her alive if he waited a little longer)
Juliet - Stabbed herself after finding Romeo dead
18. To make amends for Juliet's death, Lord Montague promises to erect a golden statue of her for all
of Verona to admire. Not to be outdone, Capulet promises to do the same for Romeo.
19. Lady Capulet thinks that Juliet is crying over Tybalt's death when she is actually crying over
Romeo. Juliet misinterprets her and thinks that Romeo has been killed. Juliet is
found dead in her bed - they all think that she is dead/ she is not dead. Juliet
mixes her words in order for Lady Capulet to think that she is speaking badly
of Romeo when actually she is proclaiming her love for him.
20. Romeo and Juliet's ill-fated lives are described as 'death-marked', and they are a 'pair of star-
crossed lovers'. The idea of fate works on several levels. Shakespeare sets the two families
against each other, and there is nothing Romeo and Juliet can do about this. When they cannot
be together being seen by the other family, when everyone was against them, when their loves
ending was tragic, and when they died for each other to be together in the other life.
21. For me it is their families, the Capulets and the Montagues, because if they really were not mortal
enemies and if they would have kept the peace between them, then Romeo and Juliet would
have been living together without nothing to worry about.
22. Juliet was a lovable daughter to her parents, even though she is meeting a montague, she never
forgets to pay attention to her parents. The parents would just marry Juliet of to some man in the
clan, they didnt even asked whom Juliet liked and if she already wanted to get married.
