This project is introduced to demonstrate project priority system which can be used to select and prioritise
projects per an organisations objectives and strategic plan. The case study is available in chapter 2,
Organization Strategy and Project Selection, Larson and Gray 56-60, 5th ed.
You are a member of the priority team in charge of evaluating and selecting film proposals. Use the provided
evaluation form to formally evaluate and rank each proposal. Be prepared to report your rankings and justify
your decisions.

Assume that all of the projects have passed the estimated hurdle rate of 14 percent ROI. In addition to the
brief film synopsis, the proposals include the following financial projections of theater and video sales: 80
percent chance of ROI, 50 percent chance of ROI, and 20 percent chance of ROI. For example, for proposal
#1 (Dalai Lama) there is an 80 percent chance that it will earn at least 8 percent return on investment (ROI),
a 50-50 chance the ROI will be 18 percent, and a 20 percent chance that the ROI will be 24 percent.
Deliverables
As a member of the priority team in charge of evaluating and selecting film proposals, following tasks will be
completed.
1. Use the provided evaluation form to formally evaluate and rank each proposal.
2. Discuss our rankings and justify our decisions
3. Discuss the value of using this kind of approach to select and prioritise projects.
4. Issue a report.
General Methodology
Please review the week 1 online questionnaire along with this section . All of the information in this section is
available on Moodle . The purpose behind this section is to reiterate the importance of some of the instructions .
Use Moodle for all project discussions. Organizational and logistical work may be completed on our Wechat
group.
Remember that marks are awarded individually. We encourage you to contribute equally to the Project.
Work . It will not be split and all group members and we must work together to answer questions.
Remember: Only valuable, knowledgeable, meaningful and timely input can be marked.
Login to Moodle daily to check the latest discussion posts and provide responses. Quality discussion is
required and out of the box thinking is encouraged.
Always stick to the schedule. Under unforeseeable circumstances if you wish to deviate from it then please
make sure that everyone knows about it.
Work in a friendly and professional manner. Group members should help each other and have fun.
We understand that conflicts are inevitable in situations like these and they should be resolved in a civilized
manner i.e. by negotiation and collaboration. Every decision will be a group decision.
Please dont hesitate to ask question and to post your valuable opinions.
Communication between us will be of utmost importance here and our work together will be as good as our
communication.
All students should post the content under relevant threads only .
Project managers should participate equally in the discussions.
Project managers must include peer marks at the end of the report . Project managers will follow the grading
guidelines recommended on Moodle.

b. All the information with the rationale agreed on by the group will be included in the report .
c. The project priority evaluation plan template is available in the book itself. Ideally everyone should
have a project priority evaluation sheet of their own before we begin discussions .
4. Project report
a. Rohit will begin drafting a project report as sonn as we start our discussions . It will be presented by
the end of the second task . All of us should contribute to finalizing the report .

Referencing
o This is a very important topic from the point of view of writing a formal report and sourcing our
knowledge from reliable sources. For the sake of simplicity, we will follow Harvard referencing style
.
o Please reference all of your Moodle discussion threads.
o Here are free websites to generate Harvard referencing !
