The pumps have manual running in addition to auto start.

Suitable
system for running of main pumps shall also be provided in control
room.
f. The fire water network is laid in closed loops to ensue multidirectional
flow. Isolation valves are provided in the network to enable isolation of
any section of the network without affecting flow in rest of network. The
fire water network is laid aboveground at a height of 300 mm to 400
mm above FGL. However, the network piping is laid below ground where
aboveground piping is likely to cause obstruction to operation and
vehicle movement and get damaged mechanically. Network piping is laid
under against corrosion by extend tape coating system.
g. Existing Hydrants and water monitors are located keeping in view the
fire hazards at different sections and to give most effective coverage.
The required relocation / addition of hydrants / monitors have been
suggested and marked on the fire protection layout drawing.
h. Fire hose boxes are provided, one for every two hydrants. The existing
hose boxes are accessible from two hydrants.
