1. Jesus example - Luke 6:17-19


- These people were strangers (multitude, Judea, Jerusalem, Tyre,
Sidon)
- These people were (most likely) poor (diseased)
- These people were used by Satans power (tormented with unclean
spirits/demons)
- These people were probably ungrateful (c.f. Luke 17 - the 10
lepers)
- He gave asking nothing in return
- He gave abundantly
- He showed mercy

- Comparing the now and the later
- Preparing for the future

3. Jesus message to all who hear - vs. 27-36


- The cross principle of relationships
- c.f. Hebrews 12:3

4. Jesus message applied


- Mercy is an action
- Being Merciful is a command
- Being merciful reflects God
- Godly people show mercy
