III. PROCEDURE
1.INTRODUCTION
Today, after the discussion, for Grade V, you will be able to use verbal and non-verbal cues in TV broadcast through a presentation or dramatization, and
analyze how visual and multimedia elements contribute to the meaning of a text. For Grade VI You will be summarizing information conveyed through
discussion by a presentation also.
Motivation
Let the pupil watch a short broadcast without sounds.
Ask the students to retell the broadcasting scene on what they had watched.t
1.What do you see?
2. What are they doing?
Call another students to retell the scene.
Watch the broadcasting scene again with sounds.
Compare their retelling of the broadcasting scene to the original.
1. Is your retelling of the scene correct?
2. What are things that made you think that the scene is as you retold?

2.MODELING FOR STUDENTS Take note of the key points, the important broadcasted.
We may be able to retell a scene even without a sound by some
CUES. It may be Verbal Cues, or Visual & non-verbal Cues. CUE
means anything said or done, on or off stage , that is followed by a
specific line.(hint,signal)
Verbal Cue
is a prompt that is conveyed in spoken language from one person to
another or a group of people. For example, if you were listening to a
lecture, the instructor might say something like, 'Does anyone know
why this happened?' In this case, the instructor is obviously looking
for one or more people to respond to the question with an answer.
-Involving words, spoken, written or signed.

Must listen and comprehend/understand the information.
Identify the main ideas and key points.
What was this text/scene all about?
Express information in own words.
Your answer
Should be a complete sentence or two.
Should cover main point and key ideas.
Should be in your own words
Shouldnt just be a word or two.
From the broadcast/scene youve watched.
-The broadcast was all about the accident that was happen on Tanay, Rizal.
Watch again another broadcasting scene

List down the verbal & non-verbal cues analyzing the multimedia elements -after watching let the pupils try to write a summary out from the scene.
Text, graphic, sound, video animation.
GRAPHIC=pictures and the word work together to tell the story.
TEXT= most multimedia systems use a combination of text to deliver
functionality.
AUDIO= it plays a major role in multimedia systems. It also aid interaction.

3.GUIDED PRACTICE Discuss the output of the pupils.
The group will make a script of a short skit (dramatization) of a news
broadcasting good for 5 minute.

The group will show the list of the verbal and non-verbal cues they derived Each group will discuss about the information they watch.
