1. What is a multi-ROM?
2. What does the Bounce Now Students Multi-ROM contain?
3. When should my child use this Multi-ROM?
4. How will this Multi-ROM help my child?

1. What is a multi-ROM?
A multi-ROM is a 2-in-1 disc. It holds data content, as found on a CD-ROM, but also
contains audio content, as found on a regular music CD. Thats why a multi-ROM
can be used in a computer (to access the data content) and in a CD player (to hear
the audio content).

2. What does the Bounce Now Students Multi-ROM contain?

It has two main sections: Games and Audio.

GAMES
The games are interactive activities practicing vocabulary and spelling.
Depending on the game chosen, your child plays by clicking on objects, moving
items by using the mouse, or by typing in words. When they click the Check
button the disc checks their answers and records their best score for each
game. Your child can determine the pace of each game by setting the clocks
time limit to FAST or SLOW.
The games should be played using speakers or headphones as they involve
listening as well as reading and writing skills.

FAQs (2 of 3)

For more detail about the games, click on the information symbol after selecting
a game.
For a video demo of how to play each game, click on the button at the top of the
game screen.

AUDIO
The Audio section contains all of the recordings from your childs Bounce
Now Students Book. The audio tracks are presented as All Audio (including
all listening exercises) and Songs and Stories. The disc works in the same way
as any music CD. Simply select the track you want to play from the Students
Book and click the Play button. By using the audio player you can also move to
different places in the track, adjust the volume, or turn off the sound.

You can also play the songs and stories and all audio on an ordinary stereo,
portable CD player, or car stereo.

3. When should my child use this Multi-ROM?

The Multi-ROM should be used at home as homework or in the classroom as
additional practice. The Students Book is divided into nine units with eight lessons
in each unit. There are two games on the Multi-ROM for each vocabulary lesson
(Lesson 1 and Lesson 5) in every unit, covering all of the new vocabulary studied in
the Bounce Now series. That means there are four games per unit, and 36 games
in total. Your childs teacher will tell the class when to use the Multi-ROM for home
study to support their learning.

FAQs (3 of 3)

The Multi-ROM is the perfect home study resource for practicing the English
vocabulary taught that day in class, reviewing previous lessons, and revising for
exams.

The Multi-ROM helps your child take responsibility for their own learning, as they
can choose what to study and how frequently. Consequently, your child can set the
pace and range of their language learning.

4. How will this Multi-ROM help my child?

The games on this Multi-ROM provide spelling and vocabulary practice, while
consolidating what your child learns in class. The language games also practice
listening, reading, and writing skills, and increase your childs awareness of
phonics, while enabling your child to improve their learner autonomy. Using the
disc will also boost your childs confidence in using computers, which is one of the
key job skills they will need in todays competitive global market.

The audio section allows your child to listen again to songs and stories they hear
in class, reinforcing new vocabulary, improving their pronunciation, and enabling
them to improve their listening skills. Additional listening home study activities are
also provided in your childs Students Book and these are to be completed with the
audio from this Multi-ROM.

Support Your Childs Learning

Parents can play a vital part in supporting their childs education, and how you
get involved with your childs home study activities can significantly extend their
classroom learning. With Bounce Now there are numerous opportunities for you to
contribute to your childs language learning success.

Rather than showing your child how to use the Multi-ROM, encourage independent
thinking by asking your child to show you how to use it. If there are any problems
you can consult the Help section together in each game.

Play the games on this Multi-ROM with your child. This is a fun and easy way to
keep up with their progress, and they will be more motivated if there is someone to
praise them when they get a high score.

Ask your child what they can say or identify in English after they complete a
game on this Multi-ROM. What can they do now that they couldnt do before? For
example, point to objects around the house that relate to the vocabulary in a game
and ask your child if they can say what the things are in English.

Open the Audio section and try to sing the songs with your child while he/she
reads the words in the Students Book. You can also ask your child to perform
actions or dance moves to go with the songs for even more fun!
