Course Title: EVALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION IN THE INTERNATIONAL


(GLOBAL) MARKET

Course Lecturer: Assoc. Prof. Sr. Dr Hj. Mohammad Fadhil Mohammad (Week 1-7)

You should start by introducing the profile of your group as an established private
infrastructure and facility developer in the ASEAN region based in Malaysia. Your team is
assigned to conduct the following tasks and submit an appropriate report to your Board of
Directors which includes the followings:

1. Utilising data available from reliable literature sources, publications and databases, your
company will be given a country to undertake a preliminary construction based
international business venture proposal for the approval of your Board of Directors.
2. Your group will conduct an analytical study on a given ASEAN country as your focus
country:

a. Explain the type of potential business ventures suitable for the country (10 marks)
b. Elaborate the best choice of infrastructure and facilities based business venture
under the current or future business, economic and social environment forecasted
for that country (30 marks)
c. Calculate the estimated ball park figure needed for the proposed business venture
and your source of fund
taking into account the necessary statistical and geographical data incorporating PEST,
SLEEPT or SWOT analysis including multicultural complexities issues that your potential
property buyers will be facing in that particular country to support your business case.

3. Draw important conclusions and propose critical recommendations to your Board of


Directors based on your findings and in relation to the given country at the end of the report.
4. Your report must be submitted in these format:

a. A4 size hardcopy with comb binded


b. A soft copy of the Report in Words and Power Point slides presentation in a CD form
c. Title and List of Group Members on the front cover
d. List of Contents
e. Source of Information/References.

This report will represent the assessment for Module 1 which is 40% of the overall marks for
this course. Students are advised to allocate respective tasks equally among group members as
high quality of content and report submission is expected from each group. Group members
who did not participate in performing the task allocated to them by the group leader will be
penalized accordingly.

Submission Date

All completed report must be submitted before the end of July 2017 Exams.
