PROGRAMMING GUIDE
Crystal Key Telephone KX30 can be programmed as per individual needs.

1. PROGRAMMING:
To prevent unauthorized programming of the equipment TWO levels of Programming Password has
been provided in Crystal Key Telephone KX30. These passwords must be kept confidential.
Master Programming Password
Personal Programming Password

1.1 Master Programming Mode:

To enter the Master programming mode press the PGM key without lifting the hand set of the key
phone

PGM

FUN COMMAND ON will be displayed on the LCD of the key phone.


And the first two columns of the DSS keys will show RED BLUE

Dial the Master Programming password

162 XXXX # Where XXXX is four-digit Master password.


By default XXXX is 0000

The first three columns of the DSS Keys will show RED, BLUE & VIOLET.
1.2 Personal Programming Mode:

Please refer users Guide.

2. CHANGING PASSWORD

Both the Master as well as personal Passwords can be changed.

2.1 Changing Master passwords:


Enter the programming mode by pressing the PGM key without lifting the handset of the key phone

Dial the old Master password followed by the new Master password

162 YYYY # Where XXXX is four digits OLD Master password.


And YYYY is the new Master password.
Example: To set new Master password to 1234 from the default 0000

162 0000 #

162 1234 #

The new Master password will be 1234.


Caution: In case the Master password is forgotten programming will not be possible and the
memory IC of the equipment has to be changed

3. EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE:


To come out of the Master as well as personal programming mode press the PGM key

PGM

FUN COMAND OFF will be displayed on the LCD of the key phone.
All the DSS keys will stop glowing

NOTE: - After Programming is over it is important that you press the PGM key to come out of
programming mode, other wise the KTS shall not function.

4. RESETTING THE PERSONAL PASSWORD.


In case the personal password is forgotten it can be reset using the Master programming password.

PGM
Dial the Master Password.

162 XXXX# where XXXX is four digits Master Password.


By default XXXX is 0000
Dial the New personal password.

163 NNNN # where NNNN is the new personal password.


The new personal password would now be NNNN.

All features which are programmable through the personal password can be programmed using
the Master Password.

5. SELF EXTENSIONS PROGRAMMING.


The Extensions number on which the Key phone is to work has to be programmed before it can be.

To program self extensions number.

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

Where PP = the hardware port number of the extension where key phone is installed
(PP=01 if the key phone is installed at extension 21/ 201, (Default setting)
PP=02 for 22 and so on. )
Example:

If you want to install the key phone as Extensions 25 or 205 for which the hardware port number
is 05

The DSS pertaining to self extensions will become blank.

6. DEFAULT SETTING

Crystal Key Telephone KX30 can be used along with ALPHA308 KY EPABX as well as
GAMMA24 KX EPABX. Small systems up to 618 normally use two digit extension numbers
by default starting from 21, 22, etc. Where as bigger system by default have three digit
extension numbers starting from 201 , 202 etc. Crystal Key Telephone KX30 can be
programmed for TWO digits or THREE digits default numbering.

6.1 TWO DIGIT Default numbering:

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

281 (This shall clear all earlier programming and set all DSS keys
For two digit numbering starting from 21 ).

Please wait . shall be displayed on the LCD

Recommended for all new installations.

6.2 Three Digit Default Numbering:

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

282 (This shall clear all earlier programming and set all DSS keys
for THREE digit numbering starting from 201).

Please wait shall be displayed on the LCD

Recommended for all new installations.

7. CUSTOMISE

The Crystal Key Telephone KX30 features programmable DSS keys and these can be customized
depending on the flexible extension number. The DSS key can also be programmed for features,
or frequently used external numbers.

7.1 For Flexible Extensions No.

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

Where KK = Key Location as in Table 1 Below.
PP = Port No. as in Table 2 Below.
XXXX= Extn. number flexible extension number
(If the extension number is less than 4-digit press #)

00 (KK) for Extension 21

Now the First DSS key will become Extension 21.

Example 2:
If Port number 01 (PP) having a default extensions number of 201 is changed to
401 in Crystal EPABX and we want to set Key Location 10 (KK) for flexible
extensions No. 401

7.2 For Feature Code:

The DSS Keys can also be programmed for frequently used features

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

Get into PROGRAMMING MODE 1 by pressing F1 key. On every press of F1 key the display will
show unlock =1, lock=2 PROGRAMMING MODE 2 PROGRAMMING MODE 1 in a rotational
manner.

F1 One two or three times to get PROGRAMMING MODE1 on the Display.

1 KK # where KK = Key Location of the DSS Key on which feature code is to be


programmed. (KK must not be 00)

5 KK F1 .F14 # where KK is Key location number


F1.l.F14 is the feature code
# if feature code is less than 14 digits

Example: To programme the DSS key at location No.27 for Paging having a feature code
3998.

Now whenever the DSS key at location 27 situated above Auto Attendant is pressed the PAGING
feature will be activated.

7.3 FOR EXTERNAL NUMBER:

The DSS Keys can also be programmed for frequently used features

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

Get into PROGRAMMING MODE 2 by pressing F1 key. On every press of F1 key the display will
show unlock =1, lock=2 PROGRAMMING MODE 2 PROGRAMMING MODE 1 in a rotational
manner.

F1 One or two times to get PROGRAMMING MODE 2 on the Display.

1 KK # where KK = Key Location of the DSS Key on which feature code is to be


programmed.

5 KK JJ* E1 . E 11 # where KK is Key location number


JJ is Junction number 61,62, or 0/5
* is to insert a delay.
E1 . E 11 is external number.
# if external number is less than 11
Example: To programme the external number 27923766 for Junction 0 on Key location 27.

Now whenever the DSS key at location 27 is pressed the KTS will automatically dial the external
number 2923766.
If the external dial tone comes after a certain delay insert more than one after the junction
no.

8. BABY SITTING.

Crystal KTS KX30 can be programmed to allow / disallow baby sitting feature

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)
To allow Baby Sitting. (Default)

9. TONE / PULSE DIALING.

Crystal KTS 30KX can be programmed to dial in Tone as well as pulse.

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

10. JUNCTION NUMBER DISPLAY.

The Junction Number 61, 62 etc can be displayed on the KTS at the time of REDIAL.

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

The Junction number & external number are separated by a F in between

11. KEY TONES.

Whenever Keys of the Crystal Key Telephone KX30 are pressed it can be made to generate a Key
pressed confirmation tone.

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

To activate Key Tone (Default)

12. CALL WAITING RING.

If Crystal Key Telephone KX30 is busy and an external call lands on the busy KTS it will ring to
indicate a waiting external call.

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

To activate call waiting ring (Default)

13. CALL DURATION

The call duration of an external call can be made to display on the LCD.

Get into the Master programming mode as explained under section 1.1
(If you are already in the programming mode skip this step and proceed.)

13. LOCAL SETTING.

The country code & local area code must be set to enable proper dial out from call history registers.

13.1 To set country code

157 CCCC# where CCCC is the country code.

To clear country code

13.2 To set local area code

156 LLLL# where LLLL is the local area STD code.

To clear local area code

Example: To set country code of India 91 and local area code of Delhi 011.

14.TIMERS
The timer values can be changed for the following features.
14.1 Back Light Timer (Default = 02)

XX = Time from 01 to 83 is seconds. (01 is 5 seconds)
This is the duration for which the Back Light of the LCD remains on.

14.2 Flash Timing (Default = 15)

XX = Time from 01 to 83
This is the flash timing in milliseconds. (01 is 20 milliseconds)
14.3 Dial tone delay time (Default = 06)

This is the time the systems wait before dialing out digits. (01 is 2.5 second)

14.4 Auto Attendant Delay Timer (Default = 02)

XX = Time from 01 to 83

This is the time after which an incoming call will be answered in Auto Attendant mode.
14.5 DTMF Length (Default = 15)

XX = Time from 01 to 83
This is length for which DTMF shall remain ON. Setting XX to 00 will lock the keypad.
14.6 Self Test Timer (Default =00)

XX = Time form 01 to 83
This is the time for which the LED of KTS will glow in self test, whenever the KTS resets. 00 is
for self test off.
