SPRING BREAK
This spring break I am going to Copper
Mountain to snowboard and hang out with
my brothers for a few days, said Demi Sena
are many great hikes around the area. The
Garden of the Gods is a great outdoor sight-
seeing destination with a small walk involved.

pring break is a popular subject among
students, throughout the months of
March and April. Students are eager to
take a break from their schoolwork by getting
out and having fun.
My ideal spring break this year would have
been going to Disneyland. Instead, we are go-
ing to Lake Powell, said Starr Mullaney (20).
Because not everyone gets to leave the
state, everyone should know that there are
activities to do all throughout Colorado. Denver
is a great place to plan a day trip or a small
getaway. The Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum
of Nature and Science, and the 16th Street
Mall are popular places in Denver to spend the
day. Other activities may include the Botanic
Gardens, a fun walk around the city, and the
Grizzly Rose for a fun night of entertainment.
(19). Staying at home, watching movies with
some friends, and going to the mall would be
a good spring break for me.
Colorado is mostly known for the Rocky
Mountains. Some of the best ski and snow-
board resorts are located here. Arapahoe
Basin and Loveland Ski Area are affordable
and within state. Vail and Keystone are two
of the largest ski areas in the Rocky Moun-
tains. Other options include Copper Moun-
tain, Breckenridge Ski Resort, Eldora Mountain
Resort, and Winter Park.
My ideal spring break would be spent
partying in Mexico, said Luke Langhorst (18).
This spring break, I will probably stay at
home or go to Nebraska.
Outside of Denver, there are more outdoor
activities. If you are looking for something to
do or for some fun exercise over break, there
Ponderosa Sisters Loop is a great hike around
3.4 miles long or the Manitou Incline around
one mile long with some difficulty. Some of
the most popular hikes in Colorado include
Boulder Falls, Eldorado Canyon State Park,
the Seven Falls in Colorado Springs, and Colo-
rado Chautauqua Park in Boulder.
My expectation of this spring break is more
or less of a business trip, said Cody Beck
(17). My baseball team and I will be travel-
ling to Arizona to compete against schools
from other states. We are going to have fun,
because we are kids but for the majority of us
it is a business trip.
There are a variety of things to do in-state
and out-of-state for spring break. Spring
break should be a relaxing, fun time to take a
break from schoolwork and enjoy a week off.

NINTENDO SWITCH
I
n April 2016, Nintendo announced a new
video game system known as the Project
NX. Six months after unveiling the new
idea, Nintendo decided to call it the Nintendo
Switch, with the idea of mobile and home
system. The Nintendo Switch will be released
on March 3, 2017.
The Nintendo Switch being Nintendos hy-
brid console allows it to be taken on the road
unlike most consoles of todays generation.
This would be Nintendos second attempt to
create a hybrid console and popularizing it in
the mainstream community.
The Nintendo Switch will produce new
video games and a new console for BHS high
schoolers who enjoy video games. The games
that have been confirmed at the January 2017
press conference include; Project Sonic 2017,
Dragon Quest X and The Legend of Zelda:
Breath of the Wild. Not only new games but
old games as well such as Mario Kart and
Super Smash Bros have been planned to be
released. Some students are excited for the
new console to come out and await its arrival
to the storefront.
The game Im most excited for is The Leg-
end Of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild because
its an RPG and I can play it for a long time
without getting bored, said Oscar Montes
(18).
Some students want to see what Nintendo
can do for the video game industry.
Its a interesting concept Nintendo has in
mind, said Bailey Brown (20).
Some receptors have mixed responses to
the announcement. The underperforming
Wii U has given Nintendo a bad name in the
console industry. However, Nintendo isnt
prepared to go down. They plan to make a
console that will appeal to everyone.
The development of the Nintendo Switch
introduces a new way for casual players and
core players to have fun with the console
whether they are away or at home. With con-
soles like the PlayStation 4 or Xbox one which
requires a good, High Definition TV for the
best quality, the Nintendo Switch has a the
potential to become a highly played console.
