ANALYSIS OF THE

MOTIVATION

ABSTRACT

Motivation plays a vital and


significant role in the lives of individuals, groups, communities,
establishments, organizations and nations. Motivation is a process
that starts with a physiological and psychological deficiency or
need that activates behavior or a drive that is aimed at a goal or
an incentive. Motivation is necessary but insufficient condition for
excellent performance, but actual performance depends on the
ability of the worker and the circumstances of the job as well as
on motivation. Motivation is more affective in achieving goals
rather than ordering people about. The present study was to find
out the impact of motivation techniques used by the heads of
secondary schools upon the teachers.It was concluded that
majority of the heads use varios motivational techniques to
improve the quality of education in broad sense.
INTRODUCTION

The term motivation originated from the


Latin Word Motum which means motion.Motivation is the
process of arousing or initating involvement in the
organism.Motivation is something which prompts,compels and
energles an individual to act in a particular manner at aparticular
time for attaining some specific goal.It is a process of
arousing.Directing,maintating and controlling ones interest in a
particular activity.

The problem of motivation is central both to educational


psychology and to the classroom activity.Infact,no real learning
can take place without motivation.Motivation brings the learner in
the proper farmer of mind for learning.It concentrates the
attention and energy of a person on the activity or knowledge to
the learnt.

According to MC Donald Motivation is ban engry


change within the organism characterized by affective arousal
and anticipatory goal relation.Inshort,motivation is an energy
chnge that arouses,directs and maintains behavior of an organism
to act for achieving a specific goal.

Motive is something that incites an organism to


action,sustains it and gives direction.Motives are the springs of
action.It is an inner state of mind of an aroused feeling generated
through basic needs or drives which compel an individual to
respond by creating a kind of tension or urge to act.According to
fisher,a motive is an inclination on impulsion to action plus some
degree of orientation or direction.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

To study various motivational techniques to improve the


quality of education.
Explore how achievement motivation can be enhanced.
Implement various strategies to help students overcome
learned helplessness.
Evaluate the role of teacher expetation and their relation
to student achievement.
Learn what teachers can do to increase students
motivation to learn.

METHODS OF THE STUDY

Survey method was used to conduct the study.


HYPOTHESIS

Quality of education provided is not satisfying .


Students have learning helplessness.
Students teacher relationship is not much closer.
Students performance and teacher expectation are different.
Lack of motivation can be seen in students learning
achievement.

The analysis of the answer


of the respondence shows the following picture.It is noticed in the
analysis(table 1)that the respondence are more aware of the
others motivational status and the way to deal with it than their
own motivation well being and management.Therefore it is
impoirtant invervensions through training programmes are to be
put in place to adolescence it become more aware of theinner
states of their mind.This will anable them to know about and
manage their motivation.

CONCLUSION

It can be said that motivation plays its important role in


achievement of educational aims,goals and objectives.Each
motivational techniques has one main goal, to make day to day
jobs more purposeful and interesting to staff,teachers or
students.Motivation techniques have the greatest impact on
performance of students where as strict attitude of heads and
chiding on mistakes have the adverse impact on the performance
of students.
