OBJECTIVE

 Internships are known for giving students the opportunity to apply

their knowledge in real world environments. By undergoing
internships, students are provided with experience that makes
them stronger and more confident of their abilities.

 Internships also allow the trainees to learn about time

management, discipline, and effective communication skills.

 In the business world, critical thinking skills are very important.

One must be able to make quick decisions which are based on
logic. Internships teach us how to excel in a large number of
different organizations and industries. I believe that Students by
undergoing internships, add value to themselves which not only
benifits them but also their prospective employers

 The main objective of my Internship topic – Working Capital

Management, is to ascertain the profitability/liquidity position of a
Company. A company can be endowed
with assets and profitability but short of liquidity if
its assets cannot readily be converted into cash.
Positive working capital is required to ensure that a
firm is able to continue its operations and that it has
sufficient funds to satisfy both maturing short-term
debt and upcoming operational expenses. The
management of working capital involves managing
inventories, accounts receivable and payable and
cash.

 The study of Working Capital Management at Central Coalfields

Tof Public Sector Enterprises which is Public Welfare.

 CCL, a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd, is a cash rich PSU and is

committed towards satisfying the energy needs of the nation.

 My basic objective of undertaking a project on Working Capital

Management at CCL is to acquire knowledge about:-

o The Working Capital constituents of CCL

o The methods or policies adopted for computing the working
capital
o Its major consumers
o Elements of its inventories
o Major cash inflows and outflows
o Whether CCL complies with the Accounting Standards or
not?
o And how efficiently it utilises its surplus funds.
o And to analyse the working capital ratios of CCL with that
of the coal industry.
