SYMPTOMS

When running a data load rule in FDMEE the following error is returned:

Java.lang.NullPointerException
ADF_FACES=60097: For more information, please see the servers error log for an entry
beginning with ADF_FACES-60096: Server Exception during PPR, #16

CAUSE

Period mapping has not been definied in the FDMEE Application. In order for the data load rule to run, there must be a
set of periods created in the period mapping table and a category created as well to set the POV bar for the data load
rule execution interface. Currently since there is not a period in the period mapping, the GUI is unable to populate and
results in the NULL Pointer Exception error. Period key should be same in both global mapping and application mapping.

SOLUTION

1. Click on the Setup Tab in FDMEE

2. Click on "Period mapping"
3. Add a new period as:
1/1/2013 with prior period 12/1/2012 and Target Period M of Jan and Year Target of 2013
4. Repeat for the other 11 periods in the calendar year and save
5. Click on "Data load".
6. Set the POV bar in the Data load rule and click '"Execute".
7. Receive Data Load Rule GUI.
