RECREATIONAL TOURISTIC CENTER BOMBUSCARO

The Recreational Center is a place where children, adults and

seniors can enjoy a really good time with family and friends. . It is
situated on the right bank of Bombuscaro River. To reach this place
you have to go over the Bombuscaro Bridge and turn right about
500 meters. Just a few steps from one side of the Recreational
Center, there is another tourist attraction which is the river called
with the same name. This is a quiet and beautiful place to swim in
the calm waters or merely lie on the shore to sunbathe. The
schedule of the center is from 0h700 to 20h00.

The Municipality of Zamora, with the intention of improving the

recreational areas of the city for its population and tourists built
this tourist attraction. This big project was opened to public in late
2013. This provides entertainment and comfort to people who visit
this peaceful center. It is considered the largest resort in Zamora.

There are several stone paths where people can have relaxing
walks. They can also go running or walk their dogs. Cycling is also
a very good activity here because there are long roads to practice
this sport. A good recommendation is to go jogging in the morning
because you can breathe the purest air that can exist. The green
areas are packed with small green plants and large woody trees.
These trees are known as Guayabas which are grown in the
Zamoran soil. They have delicious small golden fruits which are
rich in vitamin C.

The main attraction of the center is the man made lagoon that has
numerous activities to do such as: canoeing, floats and watercraft.
In order to provide constant clear chemical free water, channels
are filled with water from the river Bombuscaro that is brought
through pipes. This new charm is the perfect place where tourists
can go on weekends and vacation.

The facilities to use in the lagoon are available to rent in a cottage

located in one side of the amphitheater. There is a restaurant that
prepares typical dishes of Zamora such as: Ancas de Rana, Gallina
Criolla and Corronchos fished in the river. In the middle of the
lagoon exists 2 sculptures, one is an armadillo that is an animal
native of the Amazon region and it is found in the forested areas of
the province, the other is a Corroncho which is a fish that people
have eaten for many years.

There is also a Serpentarium where the native snakes are exhibited

to the public and people can take a photo with a big Boa. The
Orquid Garden area where you can see the lush variety of colorful
orchids brought from some far places of the province and serve as
study areas and species conservation.

The relics and archeological pieces are exhibited in the museum.

The artifacts were found in the cantons of the province and
represent the history of the Zamoran people.

There is a destined area for cultural and social events to people

who enjoy performances of art. This space is designed for concerts
of national musicians or any person who wants to show their skills.
The sports are a characteristic of the center. There are two soccer
courts which are a nice option to do before go swimming. Tourists
do not have to worry for their vehicles because there is a big
parking lot at the entrance.
