AP Physics C Summer Assignment

Welcome to the AP Physics C!

I am excited to embark on this wonderful journey of physics together. This will be one of the

most challenging, yet rewarding, class you take during your high school career. You will learn valuable

skills that will help you in whichever field or career you choose to pursue in college.

The AP Physics C course is arguably the most difficult of all the AP courses (there is data to

support this). There is an ENORMOUS amount of content which requires an EXTREMELY HIGH level

of conceptual thinking. We dont take any days off! If you miss a day, you miss A LOT!! If youre not

willing to put in the time, every day, day after day, you will not be successful in this course. Think hard

about this before you decide to take this course! Do not fool yourself; this course will not be a walk in the

park!

Students are expected to work on their summer assignment over the summer. There will be a test

covering the summer homework (Unit 1) ON THE FIRST BLOCK DAY. Prepare yourselves in advance.

Waiting until the last minute will not help you be successful this year. Remember to have a great summer

and be prepared to hit the ground running when school starts.

See you in August!

Summer Assignment:
1. Check out the book from the library and complete the following AP Physics C summer homework
packet.
2. Review derivatives and integrals at the following website:
http://www.batesville.k12.in.us/physics/APPhyNet/calculus/derivatives.htm
3. Get a spiral bound quadrille 4x4 graphing notebook for the first day of school. (Can be found at
Staples or Office Depot)
4. Consider buying an AP Physics C prep book early. This can be found an amazon or ebay. Many
students like Barrons or Princeton review.
