Overview and Timeline

The Passion Project will take place over a 6-week period. Students will work on their
project 2 days a week. Students will be selecting something they are passionate
about and researching it, learning more about it and finally presenting it using
multimedia. This encourages creativity and growth in literacy by giving students the
freedom to work on their Passion Project. They will use the search engines provided
(Kiddle and Kidrex) to research their topic. They will use PowToon to create their
presentation. At the end of the 6 week work time, students will post their project
to the classroom website to share with students.

Classroom website, multiple online resources/tools to display presentation, tutorials
and screencasts to explain digital tools, templates to help with researching and
recording findings, rubric given for guidance
Tutorials and Templates Provided to Learners:
Provide example projects for students to see
Briefly explain how the resources, tools, and tutorials may be used to
differentiate content or process for learners:
All tools used in this project allow for flexibility and creativity for all students. The
content is based off of what the student chooses and can be modified as needed to
support students learning.

Reason(s) for chosen technology(s):

Chromebooks are provided by the district. The other tools for students to use are
friendly and easy to navigate.
Instructional Plan
Management: Students will work in the classroom on Chromebook. This is to be
done independently but the final project shared with all students and the classroom
blog. They will reflect on each others work.
Differentiation: The project allows for plenty of differentiation because of the
nature of the project. Students have the freedom to choose their own topic.

Closure and Reflection There will be a presentation share party, students will
have their creations posted to our class site. We will have time for students to watch
them and write comments and compliments to their classmates. I would then
conduct a community circle and have students share out the things that they
learned from their peers.
