Senior citizens should not be neglected. Discuss.

In the rapidly growing world of technology, the world's population ages wane. Individuals
over the age of 60 years and above are classified as elderly or senior citizens. They are usually
retired or still working if health permits. Some are living alone while some are guarded by children.
Even if the average of this group spend more time at home alone, this does not represent the elderly
just be passive or labeled as less productive. They are the biggest contribution to families,
communities and countries. Nevertheless, the efforts and contributions of the elderly must be
respected by all parties. Thus, we need to love and respect the elderly.

The elderly have long lives than we do. They are ahead of us in age, experience, wisdom and
maturity. Thus, they are experienced persons who can provide us with their knowledge and wisdom
advices. We should always ask their views. For the younger generation, they still rely on the elderly
in providing advice and guidance in the face of the vagaries of life in this challenging world.
Without their guidance and advice, younger generation will easily swayed and manipulated by
foreign elements that have malicious intent. If this occurs, a state of harmony could be threatened.
Besides, they are a great source of knowledge for the youngsters. They have learned all that with
their own experience after hardships and sufferings. We have a golden chance to learn from them the
lessons that they have already learned. Therefore, the elderly should continue to guide young people
based on their experience so that the direction of young people be secured, and more meaningful.

Each person has a mother and father and because of them we were born into the world. Their
contribution in raising and educating us are highly valued and it cannot be measured by material
possessions. They've groomed us up to adulthood and are willing to sacrifice so much for us. They
sacrifice their wealth, time and energy for our good. They also give love, education, shelter, food,
drinks, and so on. They have guided and shaped our character to become noble human. They provide
religious education and teach us manners and good moral. They carry out their responsibility to
make a living to raise their children. Therefore, we should attach great importance to the parents.

In addition, their contributions to the nation are priceless. They freed the country from
colonial rule. The elderly have proved their fighting spirit. They never wavered in the face of enemy
attack. They fought with all their heart and soul to confront the invaders who want to regain control
of our country. The struggles of the elderly to maintain independence of our country cannot be
assessed and measured with anything. They fought selflessly for the sake of homeland. They are
willing to sacrifice their lives in order to protect and defend the nation. Without their sacrifices, we
cannot be like now this. Thus, we must appreciate their sacrifices.

In conclusion, as the children or young people, we must always respect and care for the
elderly so that they can always be cheerful. We cannot ignore the elderly because they have
sacrificed a lot to give birth, raise and educate their children to succeed in life. We must remember
the sacrifices of the parents because they are priceless. We should give them love and make their life
secure and perfection and never neglect and squander their lives as time has passed cannot be
replaced. Therefore, children have to remember that one day they too will become old and will have
to feel what their parents feel now.

How can we conserve wildlife in our country? Explain.
The earth does not only belong to humans. Flora and fauna also have the right to live in this
green earth. However, wildlife is increasingly becoming more threatened due to human activity. The
biggest threat to wildlife is habitat loss due to deforestation, overgrazing, farming, development, and
pollution. These issues also lead to other problems such as soil compaction, erosion, and
desertification. Effective measures should be taken so that wildlife can also continue their life on this
earth.

The natural habitats of wild animals and birds should be conserved by establishing forest
reserves throughout the country. The creation of forest reserves will prevent animal and plant species
from being wiped out. Logging and wildlife poaching activities in these areas is prohibited. The
success of the Sepilok Orangutan rehabilitation Center in Sabah is a clear example of how effective
such conservation programs are. Similarly, the establishment of marine parks can protect both
marine life and their habitats from being destroyed. Besides, forest reserves must be gazetted so that
no action logging can damage or eliminate their habitats. With the presence of forest reserves,
breeding animals and food sources can be guaranteed that they will also last for a long time; an
example is the gazetting of forest reserves in the Endau-Rompin in Pahang.

Furthermore, enforcement of strict laws should be implemented to protect wildlife. Strict

enforcement can prevent the implementation in the development of projects and wildlife hunting in
the forest. Enforcement without favoritism can prevent irresponsible act and maintain the quality of
the environment. The government should regulate logging activities, deforestation and hunting in our
country. In this case, the government should limit the number of licenses granted to deforestation
and hunting. Licenses and logging concessions must be revised. Only trees that were old enough to
be allowed to cut down. Those who violate the regulations must be punished as a lesson not to repeat
the error. Obviously, the strict enforcement could affect the parties concerned with profit regardless
of social welfare.

Moreover, the government should enhance public awareness about the importance of
preservation and conservation of wildlife. A variety of methods can be used to nourish the spirit of
love to wildlife. The print media may publish articles on the importance of preserving wildlife and
coverage of wildlife issues should be increased. The electronic media also broadcast the
documentary and interesting program about wildlife. For example, the mass media and television
programs like National Geographic can instill awareness in the public on the need to preserve
biodiversity. Through mass media, information and news can be delivered quickly and easily.
Indeed, the news and current affairs broadcast by the mass media are more attractive to the public,
especially the younger generation. Therefore, the media should also realize how our society should
be responsible in maintaining a national treasure for future generations.

In conclusion, animals are also part of the national treasure that must be preserved for
ecological sustainability and future generations. Wildlife should be given a place to continue their
offspring with humans on earth. Therefore, all parties shall cooperate in the protection and
conservation of wildlife so that future generations can also enjoy the beauty of this country that is
priceless. Thus, let us join hands in addressing this problem before it is too late.
