Inmostcases,companiesaredisbandingtheirinternalrecruitmentteamsand
outsourcing talent acquisition to thirdparty specialists who have larger
bandwidthtosecuretalent,saidcompaniesandRPOfirms.
This also frees up time for the internal human resource team to focus on
strategywhileendtoendrecruitmentistakencareofbyaspecialist.
"The idea is while our talent acquisition team focuses on talent acquisition
strategy,brandbuildingetc.,ourrecruitmentprocessingpartnerbringsinskills
inwideningthefunnelandincreasingthereach,"saidGajendraChandel,chief
humanresourcesofficer,TataMotors.
This helps in building predictability and scalability on the one hand, and
improvescandidateexperienceontheother.
Foremployers,thebenefitsaremanifold,includinga2025%reductionintotal
cost of ownership through significant reduction in costs like sourcing costs,
salary hikes and cost per hire 1520% improvement in time taken to fill a
position,andanimprovementinselectionratiobyalmost40%.
Anuranjita Kumar, chief human resources officer, Citi South Asia, said, "To
address the hiring volume for complex skill sets (in big data, micro strategy,
etc.)inatimeboundmanner,weenteredintotheRPO."

Rs100croreforanapproximatedurationoffiveyearswhilesomeareRs50
100crore.
The cost of hiring significantly falls over a period of twothree years as RPO
replacesinternaltalentacquisitioncostinavariablefashion,takingcareofthe
fluctuationandunpredictabilityinhiringvolume.
"Wearedoingonepermanenthiringeveryminutein365daysayearandhave
picked up five large clients in the last six months," said Pankaj Bansal, chief
executiveofficerofPeopleStrong.VinodSubramanian,headofFlexAbility,said
several companies in India which are seeing growth are coming to specialists
forvolumehiringandqualityisoneofthereasons.
In India, the RPO demand is being driven mainly by banking and financial
services,technology,pharma,healthcareandtelecomsectors.RPOfirmshave
beenpromptedtoincreasetheirteamsizetomeettheincreaseindemand.
TeamLeasehas,overthelastcoupleofyears,setupadedicatedRPOteam,
said Rituparna Chakraborty, executive vicepresident, TeamLease Services.
PeopleStronghasincreaseditsteamsizeby50%inthelastoneyear.
