French 7 Lesson Plan- Test Review

LESSON PLAN OBJECTIVES - Students will: (within this lesson)

By the end of the assignment...


Experience- Weather (weather conditions, climate, Canadas weather)
Oral Production- Name, list, and describe, with limited spontaneity, in a
defined, highly structured and modelled fashion, resulting in a prepared
message, expressed in the present, that is comprehensible and accurate.
Written Production- Label, list, describe, in written form, in a defined, highly
structured and modelled fashion, resulting in a prepared message,
expressed in the present, that is comprehensible and accurate.
Language-
continue to develop knowledge of the following concepts: nouns,
prepositions, conjugation (faire).
use, with some consistency, the following linguistic elements needed
to communicate a message in oral and written form: present tense of faire
with all subject pronouns, expressions with faire, prepositions of place,
Strategies- guess the meaning of an unknown word or expression, activate
prior knowledge and experiences, use visual cues.
By the end of the lesson...
The students will remember and identify previous learned weather terms
and use them in a complete sentence.
The students will use oral communication to communicate with their group
members
The students will use written communication to express their knowledge in
various subject areas.
The students will create their own sentences in French to express the
weather in various places around Canada.

Pre-emptive Tasks for Teacher

Teacher will prepare all centers prior to lesson.


Teacher will prepare all materials prior to lesson.
Teacher will prepare Kahoot for student use.

PROCEDURE

Introduction (10 min.)

Welcome students and gather attention.


Reconfirm with students that their test will be the following Monday.
Explain instructions for centers:
1. Kahoot activity- Students will complete a Kahoot quiz using the
iPads.
2.Dice activity- Students will roll the dice and then as a group respond
to the images that show up on the dice. The first to guess the answer will
win the round.
3. Map activity- Students will write out weather phrases and associate
them with a location in Canada. The students will read their phrases and
the other partner will try to draw what they other partner is describing.
4. Faire worksheet- Students will complete a small worksheet
centered on the verb Faire. Once the students have finished they will
receive the answers and mark their pages. Along with the corrections the
students will discuss in their groups, the answers and other aspects of the
verb such as the conjugation and common expressions.
Separate students into 4 groups.
Transition into activity.

Body (30 min.)

Learning Activity #1: (30 minutes)


Students will complete the activities mentioned in the introduction and
transition from center to center with teacher instruction about every 7
minutes.

Closure (5 min.)
Have students clean up materials and return room to regular status.
Dismiss students at the bell.
