ARTIST STATEMENT
What is an artist statement?

A general introduction to your work, a body of work, or a specific project.

Your artist statement is about facts, a basic introduction to your art; it's not instructions
on what to experience, what to think, how to feel, how to act, or where to stand, and if it
is, you better do a rewrite. Please answer the questions below & then compose your
artist statement in paragraph form. The artist statement should be 3-5 paragraphs
including 3-5 sentences each.

1. Why do you make art? What inspires you?

I make art because I think that it could help me with a future job or if I become an
auto mechanic.

2. How did you choose your logo idea? What was your thought process on your
designs?

I chose this design because I could use it when I get my own garage hopefully.

3. What does your logo and trademark mean to you?

It makes me feel like Im able to work on cars and design them.

4. Explain your symbolism. What does each part signify &/or represent?

Each part represents what I would do in my garage and what it could turn out to be
when its finished.

5. What is unique/special about your logo and trademark?

I custom designed the cars on it and I could use it if I buy a garage.

6. What tool/technique did you like the best that you used to create your logo?

I found out how to make things seem like plastic/metal.

7. What was the most challenging part about creating a logo from scratch?

It took me awhile to figure out what I was going to do.

8. How does your logo connect to your TM?

Its made from scratch.

9. Were you able to transform your idea into a graphic? Or did your plan change?

I think my plan changed a few times when I started.

10. How did you incorporate detail into your design?

I made the gear and wrench kind of look like metal. I also made the cars look like
they belonged in it.

11. How did you incorporate color into your graphic?

I had the Logans Garage and Car Design and Tuning have a neon look to it.

12. How did you include value changes and contrast?

When I made the gear and wrench look like metal it gave it this color fade to it.

13. What is the most successful part of your logo/trademark?

The most successful thing in the logo/trademark was putting in the cars.

14. What needs some work?

I still have to figure out how to get the neon to actually look like neon lights.
