Salmon I. Marthers [Mathews] This indenture made the twentieth day of January in the year of our
Deed To lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty four between Salmon
Robert Parks I Marthers [Mathews] and Susan his wife of the town of Bloomfield
County of Oakland Territory of Michigan of the first part and Robert Parks of the second part Witnesseth
that the said parties of the first part for and in Consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them
in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt where of is hereby confessed and and [sic]
acknowledged have Granted bargained sold remised released aliened and confirmed and by these
presents do Grant bargain sell remise release alien and confirm unto the said party of the second part
and to his heirs and assigns forever all that certain part or parcel of land situated lying and being in the
town and county aforesaid in the said Territory known and described as the west one fourth of the
North East Quarter of section Number seventeen of township Number two (North) in Range
Number Eleven East in the District of Detroit containing forty acres being the same piece parcels or
tract of land which was purchased by the aforesaid Salmon I Marthers [Mathews] from the Government of
the of of the [sic] United States as appears by the pattent [sic] of the said United States dated sixteenth
day of April A.D. Eighteen hundred and twenty three together with all and singular the hereditaments and
appurtenances there unto Belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions
remainder and remainders rents issues and proffitts [sic] thereof and all the Estate Right title interest
claim and demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part Either in Law or Equity of in and to the
above bargained premises with the said hereditaments and appurtenances to have and to hold the said
premises above described to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the sole and only
proper use and benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever and
the said partys [sic] of the first part for them selves heirs executors and administrators do covenant grant
bargain and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that at the time of
the ensealing and delivery of these presents he is well seized of the premises above conveyed as of a
good [sure?] perfect absolut [sic] and indefeasible Estate of inheritances in the Law in fee simple and
th[at] the above Bargained premises in the quiet and peaceable perfect lien of the said party of the
second part his heirs and assigns against all and Every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim
the whole or Eny [any] party there of they will forever warrant and Defend in wittness [sic] whereof the
parties of the first part have here unto set their hands and seals the day and [year] above written signed
and in the [presence] of [?]

Be it remembered that on the seventeenth of April in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and
twenty four before me Salmon I Mathews and and [sic] Susan his [wife] came before me Johnson Niles
one of the Justices of the peice [sic] of the county of Oakland Michigan Territory the with in named
Salmon I Mathews and Susan his wife known to be to be the persons described in and who have
Executed the with in Deed and acknowledged that they signed sealed and Delivered said Deed for the
uses and purposes therein mentioned and the said Susan Being By me previously Examined apart from
her said husband acknowledged that she Executed this said deed freely without any fear or compulsion of
her said husband all whitch [sic] I do accordingly certify according to the Statute in sutch [sic] cases made
and provided
