AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is a response to rowan-

greenleaf's challenge, Ginny Draws Draco.

Oneshot: The Art of Obsession

My name is Ginevra Molly Weasley, and I am now a

fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and
Wizardry. I am just a typical witch; I listen to The
Weird Sisters, have several older brothers, love to
draw, live in a magical house, can perform a wicked
Bat Bogie hex and have a slight obsession with Draco
Malfoy.

Yeah, you heard me right.

He's tall and lean, powerful and naturally beautiful. He

has platinum blond hair that barely reaches his
shoulders, and he usually keeps it pulled back in a
ponytail: the most unfeminine ponytail that I've ever
seen, I might add. He has cold grey eyes that seem to
look down on everything, but I think that observation
is incorrect (I'll explain later). He has a pointed face
with fine, almost femininely delicate features.

Draco wears white button up shirts and rolls the

sleeves up to his elbows to show off his forearms. His
silver and green tie brings out the color of his eyes
quite nicely, and his pants are always excellently
tailored and perfectly fitted.

Now, as for his eyes: His grey eyes aren't cold, they're
distant. I don't think Draco Malfoy looks down on
everyone; I think he just observes them objectively.
You see, if he looked down on everyone, he would be
horribly unhappy. Wouldn't you? Besides that, his
eyes only look cold because they're grey. When was
the last time you saw someone with grey eyes that
looked warm? That's right, never. And you never will.

But you don't have to take my word for it. Besides,

you're a Gryffindor, you think it's wrong that I should
like the son of Lucious Malfoy, I know it. That's your
problem.

Don't worry, I will never be with Draco Malfoy. Ever.

I'm a Weasley, a Weasle-bee, as he calls us. But it
isn't offensive, he's just living up to the reputation he
has. He has to, doesn't he? It doesn't bother me. Not
really.

So, about that obsession I have with Draco? I never

talk to him, I don't think I've said a nice word to him in
my life, even. He's pretty much in the elite of
Hogwarts, and I'm, well, not. But I do get my Malfoy
fix, certainly. When I'm lonely he's all that keeps me
company, he understands me, he'll look into my eyes
and let me know that he understands me.

Okay, maybe not.

But I do feel like I have a part of him with me at all

times. You see, I have this muggle sketch book that
my dad bought for me last year. It's almost full now,
which is a little sad, but that's okay… especially
because of what it's full of. You see, nearly half of the
drawings are of the subject of my obsession. You
guessed it: Draco Malfoy.

I have sketches of him playing Quidditch, dueling,

studying, sleeping, and even snogging with his
girlfriend Pansy Parkinson. No, I'm not crazy. Have
you ever seen those girls that all they draw are
horses? Horses, horses, horses… and they never
look that much different. Well, it's a waste of time.
Drawing Draco is like drawing the wind. I can capture
nature, beauty, everything un-capture-able on paper
just by drawing Draco.

That's right. Draco Malfoy. He's beautiful, honestly.

You wouldn't believe it. I don't like to brag, but I think
my pictures do him a fair amount of justice. Of course,
no one could ever do Draco Malfoy justice, but still…
Ginny raised her head from the sketch that she was
working on and looked at the subject that she was
drawing. He was reclining on the lawn with fellow-
Slytherins, Zabini, Crabbe and Goyle, about fifty yards
away. The air was still and the sun shone down so
that, even at this distance, Ginny could see that his
face was gleaming with sweat and his hair stringy and
damp.

He was talking effortlessly with Zabini, the dark boy

that contrasted Draco so beautifully. If Ginny had
been working in water colors she would have been
sure to add him to the drawing for effect, but as she
was using only a pencil it would have been futile to do
so.

The picture lying in Ginny's lap was a very close

likeness to the boy it depicted. Its legs were stretched
out and it was leaned back on its arms. Rather than
limp, stringy hair there was a slight breeze in the
picture, causing little wisps of hair to blow into his
face. His feet, crossed at the ankle, were in perfect
proportion to the rest of himself, not awkwardly too big
or small like many artists' depictions might be.

Ginny smiled down at the picture as she sketched the

lines of his loosened tie around his neck, adding the
diagonal stripes with careful precision. His shirt wasn't
quite buttoned all the way, revealing a portion of his
neck and chest that wouldn't have been visible
otherwise. Ginny had the urge to march right over
there to Mr. Draco Malfoy and straddle his legs,
loosening his tie until she could throw it over his head
and unbuttoning his shirt to reveal his surely-perfect
torso. Come to think of it, she hadn't ever seen him
without his shirt on… except, of course, in dreams
and her own life-like drawings.

But Ginny remained where she was. She carefully

started to add shadows to the picture. A dark bit here
below his arms, a dark bit there where his hair cast
his face into shadow. She added the grass he was
reclining on, soft and plush like grass so often is in the
very end of summer. Right now Draco was talking, a
look of obvious annoyance and superiority on his
face, but in Ginny's picture the boy was wearing a
small and mysterious smile, his intense eyes looking
up at the viewer. And the viewer was, and only would
be, Ginevra Weasley. This Draco was her Draco. The
Draco on paper: the Draco that she created and
commanded… and the Draco that loved her.

Ginny closed her eyes and imagined… imagined

Draco looking her direction, and standing up. He
would forsake Zabini, Crabbe and Goyle, his idiot
"friends", and he would walk right towards her, where
she sat on the grass in the shade of a tree. His
intense eyes would stare into her, looking right
through her as he walked closer, slowly. It would be
agony to have to wait for him.

But Ginny knew full well that Draco would never, ever
come to her. She looked once more at her finished
drawing and, without closing the sketch book, shoved
it into her bag. She gave Draco one last fleeting
glance and stood up to head back up to the castle
again. Ginevra Weasley had spent enough time for
the day hoping to earn a glance from Draco Malfoy,
and now was time to go up to the library and work on
that Potions essay for Snape.

The library, on this Saturday afternoon, was full of

people. There was only one empty table, so Ginny
spread out her potions book and reference books that
she'd hunted down in the jungle of books and sat
down. The table was next to a window and the
sunlight from outside shone in, warming Ginny's back
and shining across her books and roll of parchment.

The atmosphere in the library was anything but a

studious one, it was a little on the loud side and was
interfering with Ginny's concentration. She would
begin to write her essay and then hear an interesting
snippet of conversation from someone nearby and be
forced to stop. Finally she dropped her quill and
surrendered to the distraction of the people around
her, pulling her sketch book out of her bag and
flipping back a few pages.

There was a picture of Draco, of course, straddling a

broom. His long, lean body was stretched out flat
along it, his right arm reaching far in front of his, and
his thin fingers outstretched. His legs and left hand
clutched the broom, raw concentration and
determination on his handsome face. His long hair
was whipping the air behind him, and his Quidditch
robes were billowed out most becomingly. Ginny ran
her fingers along his two dimensional body, feeling a
tingle deep in her own…

She turned the page, revealing a picture of the same

piece of flesh that had been on the last page. This
time it was just a portrait. His fine, delicate features
had been sketched carefully, his face as pointed on
paper as it was in person. His hair was pulled back in
a very loose ponytail and his mouth was curved down
into a frown that was attractive nonetheless.

Ginny flipped to her latest drawing of her favorite

human being, admiring the exceptionally fine likeness
of Draco. She let the book lay open on the table,
staring down into his eyes. She wished she could
capture the spirit in them; his eyes were the only thing
she felt she couldn't even begin to accurately draw.
Minutes passed with only this picture of Draco
existing to Ginny, and she felt butterflies slowly
fluttering inside of her as she admired even this
picture of him.

"Well, well, well… if it isn't little Weasle-bee."

A sharp voice interrupted Ginny's thoughts, a voice

that she identified immediately. Ginny's head snapped
up and she slammed the sketch book shut, her eyes
meeting the gray eyes that were eying her critically.
She couldn't bring herself to say anything; with just
the table separating the two of them. They were so
close. Too close. Ginny's breathing increased slightly,
her butterflies fluttering faster and more intensely…
more like moths now, really, erratic and unpredictable.

"What's that there?" Draco reached forward to grab

Ginny's sketch book, but she had the presence of
mind to snatch it up and hold it flat against her
breasts. Draco's facial features contorted into a
haughty grin as his hand withdrew. "Why won't you
show me?" He asked.

"It's… it's mine." Ginny said, uncertainly keeping eye

contact. Her books were still spread across the table
and he leaned forward onto it, leaning in closer to her.
Her stomach seemed to freefall with every centimeter
nearer he got.

"Does little Weasley have a secret?" He whispered, a

smile playing at his sensual red lips. Ginny had to
press her nails into her sketch book to refrain from
reaching up and touching those lips with her fingers,
just to feel how soft she knew they would surely be.
She nodded her head slowly, unsure entirely of what
she was doing until he had grabbed her wrist and
pulled her to her feet roughly. Ginny hadn't the
presence of mind to do anything but hang onto her
sketchbook and follow Draco as he stalked from the
library.
Right as the two passed through the library doors,
Ginny's feet faltered and she looked back. "My
books…" She said lamely, still clutching the most
important of the books to her chest with her free hand.
But Draco paid no attention and hurried through the
corridors with Ginny in tow, thankfully through near-
empty corridors. Ginny's mind was reeling. Where
was he going? Why were his fingers so comfortably
warm and why was it that his fingers enclosed on her
wrist made her feel so like his? The thoughts crossed
her mind over and over again as chills ran through her
body and she followed the white blond boy blindly.

Draco stopped abruptly, causing Ginny to run into his

back. "Brat…" He muttered, throwing open a door and
pushing her inside, following closely behind.

Ginny saw that she was in an old lavatory, the walls

stained with rust stains from the water, and the sinks
with lime. Some of the stall doors were hanging
slightly crooked on their hinges and she knew this
must be the bathroom in which the entrance to The
Chamber of Secrets was. She stumbled to a near sink
and leaned against it, watching Draco whisper
something with his wand pointed at the door and then
turn to her.

"Are you going to show me what's in that book of

yours?" Draco asked lazily, walking slowly and
steadily toward Ginny. His hair was stall damp with
sweat, and there were spots below his arms where
sweat had leaked through his shirt. He was beautiful
in a more rugged way today than usual.

Ginny stared at Draco, crossing her hands in front of

her sketchbook. There was no way she could possibly
let anyone ever see the contents, let alone Draco
pretty-boy Malfoy himself! She didn't know what he'd
think, he'd probably laugh at her or, worse, get mad
and destroy the sketches. Ginny subconsciously took
a step away from Draco, who had stopped moving
closer and now stood merely a few steps away.

"Won't you give it here?" Draco asked, his tone

dangerous. Ginny shook her head hard, her eyes still
latched on his face. "Accio book!" The sketchbook
flew out of Ginny's hands and Draco caught it in his
own, shoving his wand back in the pocket of his
pants. A look of triumph crossed his face as he turned
to the sink and set the book down, opening it to a
page randomly in the middle. "Now, which page was I
not supposed to see?..." Draco mused.

Ginny watched in horror as Draco flipped from the

simple landscape he had opened to, to a picture of
himself standing at a table in the dungeons, stirring a
steaming cauldron. Her stomach seemed to clench up
as if it was about to thoroughly reject everything she'd
eaten today. Draco's back was to her so she could
just barely see his face in the mirror as he looked
down at the drawing that was so clearly himself. He
studied it, a blank look on his face, and then turned
the page to find another. This one was of him asleep,
something Ginny had not seen but imagined. She bit
her lip as he turned the page again.

Draco's face remained a mask as Ginny's teeth tore

into her bottom lip. A line of blood trickled down her lip
and onto her chin from the force that she steadily bit
down with. Draco flipped through the pages, revealing
sketch after sketch of himself: his gorgeous,
wonderful, perfect self… the part of him that loved
Ginny, because Ginny was his creator, and he must
love her. Silence filled the bathroom, except for the
slow drip of water that came from a leaky facet a few
sinks down from where Draco stood. Ginny realized
that Draco had not flipped a page for a while and was
carefully studying one particular sketch. She silently
stepped forward a few steps until she stood right
behind him and could peer around his shoulder to see
the sketch that had been completed not long before.

"You drew this today." Draco's dangerously quiet but

altogether different than usual voice filled the room
and, though it wasn't a question, Ginny felt compelled
to answer him.

"Yes… when you were sitting on the grass out by—"

Draco interrupted, slamming the sketch book

suddenly shut and causing Ginny to jump. "I know
when you drew it, I saw you." He said quietly, leaving
the sketch book lying on the sink and turning around
to face Ginny. His face was only inches from her own.
"How long, Weasley?" He whispered, his voice
dangerously low.

Ginny longed to take a step back, to turn around, to

run away. But she couldn't do anything but stare up
into his distant grey eyes and gape up at him. She
was silent for a few long moments, and finally looked
down at the floor and answered: "Since the beginning
of last year." She could feel his eyes on her as she
stared down at the floor and it felt as if he could
somehow see right through her.

Draco said nothing, but he continued to stare; Ginny

knew because she could feel the force of his eyes on
her. The drip, drip, drip of the sink was all the noise
that there was in the deserted bathroom, and it
pounded on Ginny's eardrums painfully. She saw
Draco move his arms up and before she could do
anything felt his hands, one on either side, press on
her face and tip it up towards his own face. Ginny's
heart beat sped up rapidly and the moths in her
stomach took flight again. There was a tingle down
her spine as he stared into her eyes, and then,
suddenly, his eyes were much too close to focus on at
all.

As Draco's lips closed over Ginny's she felt the

immediate urge to pull away, but he wouldn't let her.
She kept her mouth closed, struggling steadily against
his hands, but to no avail. A warm, wet muscle
pushed through her lips and into her mouth, exploring
without hesitation. Ginny felt strangely violated: she
hadn't invited this tongue into her mouth. She hadn't
ever been kissed, though she knew the theory behind
it. Curse the theory! Her mind thought angrily, as it
wasn't helping her decide what to do anyhow.

Draco's mouth was opening and closing quickly,

pushing his tongue deeper into her mouth and holding
her head tightly close to his own. Ginny felt a tingle,
but not in her spine… this one was in an entirely
different place, an almost unfamiliar place to her. She
felt the unmistakable need to wrap her arms around
him, and so her hands snaked up between his arms
to latch around his neck. She stretched up on tiptoe
and uncertainly responded to his tongue in her mouth.
She met his tongue in the middle and pressed against
it, tasting it, tasting him: perfection. She could feel his
hands run from her face to her waist, wrapping
around her and pulling her body flat up against his
own.

Ginny stumbled as Draco pulled her closer, falling

momentarily off of her toes and breaking the lock of
their lips. She stretched up to meet his mouth once
more, startled to feel his manhood pressed against
her leg, and feeling again the urge to leave, but she
didn't. The tingling increased, and she felt hot
between her legs, something she couldn't entirely
understand. Draco's hands slid lower, firmly grasping
the flesh that he found there, causing Ginny's body to
grow stiff. He continued to kiss her, the movement of
his tongue and of his lips increasing in time with
Ginny's own.

"Ohhh, how wonderful!" A dreamy, sappy and high-

pitched girl's voice sounded behind them. Ginny
jumped away from Draco and looked behind her to
see a transparent figure sitting on the top of one of
the stall doors. She smiled down at them in a sad,
sentimental way, and Ginny knew this had to be
Moaning Myrtle. She heard the tear of paper behind
her, and quickly turned to see Draco holding the
notebook, having ripped out the newest drawing.

"We'll have to do this again sometime, Weasley." He

said, his voice low as he held out the sketchbook to
Ginny, shoving the picture he held unceremoniously
into his pocket.

Ginny's hunger for him had not been quenched, nor

had it been even slightly satisfied. Rather, her hunger
was a needier, hungrier feeling. She watched as he
flashed her one last smile, his grey eyes radiating a
kind of warmth that one might think held a sliver of
affection, and then turned to go.

Of course, no one could ever do Draco Malfoy justice,

but still…I think he approves of my renditions of him. I
must say, though… ever since the other day in
Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, I've been able to capture
so much more of Draco's eyes in my sketches: his
grey eyes that really do radiate something other than
a closed, cold feeling.

I hope he's as good as his word. We'll have to do it

again sometime, Malfoy.

Again Sometime

My name is Ginevra Molly Weasley, and I'm OUT OF

MY MIND FOR DRACO MALFOY! I have spent so
long obsessing over a boy who would never return my
affections, and now… he does. Or, he did.

Yesterday was perfect! Draco is such a doll… to drag

me away like he did, to jump down my throat… mm! I
wasn't finished with him when he left, but I would
never complain. For him to even look my direction is
such a treat. I haven't seen him since… in fact, I
practically fled to the Gryffindor commons, and I
haven't left since… I didn't go to dinner, and I skipped
breakfast this morning.

Ron thinks I've gone absolutely batty. All I can think

about is Draco, and I guess I've been getting lost in
him and forgetting what's going on around me.
Working on my potions essay would be absolutely
pointless.

Draco is just beautiful. I think that every girl who goes

to this mixed up school must secretly be in love with
him… and I even think he knows it. But even so, I was
the one who got the letter tonight, not any of those
other girls…

Ginny walked quickly, head down and hair falling

around her face, through the dark and dank corridors
that led through the dungeons of the castle. She didn't
want to be heard by anyone and, most of all, didn't
want to be seen. She felt safer with her hair hiding her
face, but realized that anyone would know who it was
by the second-hand robes and red hair.

Her hand was thrust wrist-deep into her robe pocket,

clutched around her wand and the note that had come
via owl earlier that morning. You never knew when
you might run into a Slytherin down here… it was
common knowledge that their dormitory was down
here somewhere, even though Ginny didn't think
anyone knew exactly where. But it didn't matter,
because she wasn't down here to look for the
Slytherin dorm: she was down here because of the
scrap of paper clutched in her hand. Potions. 8 pm.
was all that it read. The owl that had delivered it had
banged impatiently on her window until she opened it
to take the note, puzzled that it hadn't come during
the normal post. That was, until she read it.

It had to be from Draco. Ginny's heart had skipped a

beat when she realized that, even though she couldn't
be for sure. After all, she didn't know his hand writing
at all. But who else would ask to meet her in the
potions room on a Saturday night? Although, two
days ago, she never would have believed that
MALFOY would ask her, either… but, then again, he
probably still wouldn't. "We'll have to do this again
sometime, Weasley." The words echoed through
Ginny's head. She never dreamed that "again" might
mean a mere twenty-four hours later. And maybe it
did, maybe it didn't. But she wasn't complaining, she
had no right to. One moment with Draco Malfoy,
Prince of Hogwarts, was more than she deserved.

Finally Ginny reached the potions classroom, now

less nervous of Slytherin students, more nervous
about Professor Severus Snape, whose lair she was
now in. She stood right outside the heavy wooden
door for a moment, concentrating on steadying her
heavy breathing as she leaned against the cold stone
wall. It felt to her like her heart was beating loudly
enough that it should be echoing down the corridor in
both directions. She closed her eyes, willing her
nerves to go away, before cautiously cracking the
door to the classroom.

It was empty.

Ginny breathed a sigh of relief, hurrying into the dark

classroom and tightly shutting the door behind her.
Shadows owned the room, since there were no
windows and no candles burning. The only light in the
room came from the hearth where a low fire was
burning, probably kept up by the house elves. She
blinked several times, trying to adjust to the dark of
the room. Slowly she walked forward to the far wall,
weaving through tables, and then sank slowly to the
floor. She fixed her eyes on the door, leaning against
the wall, and she waited.

And she waited.

Ginny knew she'd arrived at least a little early, but she

was sure that it had to be after eight now… even
though she had no way of knowing for sure. Maybe it
had just been a prank, a cruel joke, by Draco. It
occurred to Ginny that maybe Moaning Myrtle had
told someone about the rendezvous in the bathroom
and that person had decided to play such a joke. She
got a little angry inside just thinking about it. On one
hand, Draco had stood her up… on the other,
someone had made her think that Draco had stood
her up. Neither idea seemed too good, and two hot
tears escaped from the corner of her eyes and rolled
down her cheeks as she set her jaw. It wasn't fair. If
anyone, even Draco, realized how in love she was
with him, they would never do something so torturous.

And still she waited. She clung to the little bit of hope
that maybe he'd show up… and she also didn't want
to go back to the common room and be asked where
she'd been. She was sure it had been an hour, or
more, and was just getting ready to brace herself and
face the rest of the Gryffindors again when a shaft of
light was thrown suddenly across the room. Ginny
stood quickly, her breath stuck in her throat as the
door opened the rest of the way and the gorgeous
Slytherin's body was silhouetted in the doorway for a
moment, before the door was shut again and the
room turned again to shadows.

"I thought you weren't coming." Ginny whispered,

butterflies assaulting her throat and intestines once
more.

Draco walked silently across the room, between

tables, until he stood in front of Ginny. "So?" He
asked, staring hard into Ginny's eyes. And then, "Are
you ignoring me?" After the former had been
answered with only silence.

Ginny shook her head. "Never… I guess I was just

early is all." But she knew that really Draco had been
very late… but why tell him that? She was lucky that
he had showed up at all.

"Do you know why I'm here, Weasley?" Draco

sneered. Before waiting for an answer, he went on,
"I'm here because it's my turn to show up how I feel
about you… you certainly made it clear how you feel
about me yesterday."

Ginny smiled, unable to help herself. Could she really

be hearing these words coming from Draco Malfoy's
mouth? She studied his red lips, and caught herself
staring when he licked them. After years she had
finally somehow won Draco's admiration, maybe even
his heart next. She couldn't believe that this
wonderful, beautiful specimen could have any feelings
for her… it was just marvelous!

But suddenly Draco moved forward fast, planting his

hands against the stone wall on either side of Ginny's
head. "It's my turn." he whispered, leaning close to
her mouth and planting a kiss against the corner of
her mouth, "Are you ready?"

Ginny was nearly panting, and she felt like she would
pass out from the nerves. She closed her eyes,
distracted by the warmth spreading down her thighs.
She parted her lips, waiting anxiously for a kiss like
yesterday, her second kiss. This time she'd know
what to do. "Yes." She answered, keeping her eyes
closed. But the kiss didn't come.

Instead, Ginny felt Draco's hands grab her shoulders

tightly. Her eyes flew open to stare into his face, and
she was surprised when he pulled her robe off and
cast it to the floor. She immediately tried to pull from
him and pick it up, but he just jerked her back up by
the shoulders, placing his lips at her neck and
growling at her, "Hold still, it's my turn." Ginny obeyed,
willing to let him kiss her neck forever. But it wasn't
long before he moved to her eager mouth, pressing
his body against hers and taking mouthfuls of her
tongue. Ginny eagerly kissed back, trying to keep up.
The taste in her mouth was delicious, like sweet mint
with the lingering taste of some sort of fruit. Much
better than she had remembered. She basked in the
sensations that were sent through the rest of her
body… the tingles in her spine and scalp, the warmth
in the pit of her stomach and between her legs… he
was also between her legs, pressing his body hard
against her.

Draco reached down Ginny's body and grabbed her

skirt, keeping her pinned tightly against the wall. He
yanked it free from her waist, popping the button that
had helped it secure. It fell to the floor. Ginny shook
her head, scared now, pushing with her hands against
Draco's chest. "Please don't… do that." She
whispered, dodging Draco's kisses by craning her
neck away.

The Prince of Slytherin, beautiful monster, shook his

head. "If you don't behave, I'm going to have to get
my wand out." He said in an unusually low voice.
Ginny was wary… she wasn't sure what Draco
wanted from her, but she realized he would get it
either way… so she relented. After all, she smiled to
herself, this was Draco. She could get used to this.

Draco's hands continued to roam all throughout

Ginny's body, finally settling on her shirt's top button.
Ginny could feel him unbuttoning it as he returned to
kissing her, and she could tell he was struggling. She
reached up to help, but he shoved her hands away
and, grabbing the shirt from either side, tore the
buttons off one by one until he could shove the shirt
off of her shoulders and onto the floor.

Ginny felt self-conscious standing in front of Draco

wearing only her white bra and panties and panty-
hose. Her nerves were tense, and her brain was
fighting with her heart. She knew she didn't want this
to happen, but this was her love, her entire world.
Draco Malfoy. And so, when he tried to lay her to on
the floor, she went willing. He was kissing her neck
and fighting with her bra when the door slammed
open quickly.

Both the boy and the girl jumped, and Draco turned to
see who it was.

There, in the doorway, stood the very person that

Ginny least wanted to see. His greasy hair fell to his
chin, and Ginny could almost smell the sneer on his
face. "Is that you, Malfoy?" He asked in an official
voice, squinting into the dark.

Draco stood up, running a hand through his hair,

while Ginny was too afraid to move. "Yeah… just
finishing up." He lied.

Snape shrugged. "Better get back to the Slytherin

dorm, you two." He said, clearly unable to identify
Ginny as a Weasley… or he probably would not have
been so kind. With that, he turned and shut the door
behind her, returning the room to darkness.
Draco remained standing, looking down at Ginny.
"Another interruption. You're lucky." He smirked. "I'll
see you later." And with that he, too, marched across
the room and was gone.

But even so, I was the one who got the letter tonight,
not any of those other girls. I guess he thinks about
me like I think about him. Only in a different way.

Tonight was terrifying, but it was so wonderful, too. I

wonder what he would have done to me… or if he
really does have feelings for me. I doubt he does. But
I'll take what I can get. I certainly don't mind letting the
Prince of Slytherin, my beautiful Prince, song me
whenever he wants. If he even wants more than that,
he can have it.

It was real fun trying to get back to Gryffindor without

a working skirt or blouse, though.

We're Not at Hogwarts Anymore

My name is Ginevra Molly Weasley, and it's been a

long time since I was in the fourth year at Hogwarts.
It's not easy to be a Weasley these days… although,
it's probably easier to be me than it is to be any of the
others. I'm eighteen now, school is over, so is life in
the wizarding world as I knew it. Just last week
Voldemort finally triumphed over Harry, a big blow for
sure. I guess I always knew it was coming, even when
I was involved with him. There is no Dumbledore's
army anymore.

Part of me is glad that most of the Order is gone.

Don't get me wrong, they were great friends and I
miss them so much. Tonks and Lupin are gone, so
are Hagrid and Dumbledore and Harry now. Worst of
all was the loss of both of the twins, which has been
especially hard on Ron, since Hermione's been in St
Mungo's practically for forever.

But now Voldemort and the Death Eaters are in

power, all I can really think about is one of them in
particular. I haven't seen Draco in the longest time,
not since Harry and I became involved in the sixth
year. The two years prior to that I had been involved
off-and-on in secret with Malfoy, ever since the day in
the fourth year when he discovered my obsession
with him… I wish things didn't have to be the way they
are, I wish I could have stayed in touch with him. So I
sent him an owl last week, asking him to meet me. I
told him where I'd wait, sitting on an old park bench in
Muggle London.

I don't know why I wrote the letter; I knew as I sent it

that if he ignored it I'd be crushed. I wish I could just
stroll right up to him in Malfoy Manor and tell him how
I feel, and that I miss him. But, even though I wasn't
really on the front lines of the resistance, I'm still a
Weasley, and I'm still an enemy of Voldemort. I don't
know if he thinks of me as an enemy, though… but I
guess we really have always been enemies. Ever
since Hogwarts, he was a Slytherin, I was a
Gryffindor…

Ginny sat nervously on the hard wooden planks of the

park bench, glancing around her nervously, trying not
to look out of place or unusual. The good people of
London were strolling around with their little ankle-
terrorizing dogs, shouting at their children for
wandering too far away and twirling their mustaches
absent-mindedly. Not many people were sitting alone
on benches, and maybe muggles didn't really do that.
Maybe sitting here alone was attracting attention.
Ginny worried with the half of her brain that wasn't
wondering about the boy – or was he a man now? –
that may or may not have been in the area. Maybe he
was on his way here right now, leaving Malfoy Manor
inconspicuously, to be reunited with his lost love.

No, that was too much for Ginny. Lost love? She
didn't think so. All it had been was a secret affair for a
couple years while they were seeing other people in
the public eye… just to avoid suspicion. Ginny
doubted he even cared anymore… because it didn't
really seem likely. He'd probably forgotten about her,
or viewed her with contempt because of the part her
family played in the resistance against his lord.

Her absent eyes now followed a young couple as they

walked past her bench, absorbed in each other. The
girl looked like any other muggle girl, and Ginny
wondered if she was fitting in as well. She wore a pair
of denim jeans and a thin pink sweater, which clashed
in an odd way with her hair. The effect wasn't
altogether unpleasant, as it toned down the fiery red-
orange of the strands of hair that she had gotten cut
into a chin-length bob. This she regretted now,
thinking of how Draco used to wind his hands through
her hair in their school days.

The more time went by without the appearance of

Draco, the more uncomfortable Ginny became. First,
she didn't know how long she should wait for him. Or
how long it would be before she would seem out of
place in this muggle world and someone would ask
her about it, or perhaps mention something to their
policemen. It suddenly occurred to her that sending
her plea to meet up with Draco may have been a
dumb idea… after all, if he really did view her with
contempt, he could turn her in to the death eaters so
easily. She'd given him a time and a place, and
another Weasley would be gone just like that. Shivers
ran down her arms, leaving goose-bumps behind, and
she pulled the funny little back muggles carried into
her lap. It was a leather purse, big enough to have
been able to fit a couple years worth of sketch books
in it with her wand and some muggle money around
them. She slipped her hand inside it, hoping to be
discreet, and balled her fist around her wand. Her
eyes she lowered to her lap, breathing deeply and
consciously, trying to appear settled and natural.
"Weasley." The coarse voice brought Ginny back into
a panic, as she jumped visibly and her breathing
caught.

She looked up… caught his eye. There standing in

front of the red-headed beauty was something much
more beautiful than she had seen in a long time. The
boy, Draco, stood clad in muggle clothes, his right
hand on his hip and his head cocked in a superior
manner. He was just as Ginny had remembered him,
burned into her mind's eye. His hair was a little longer
than hers, falling nearly to his shoulders and
unchecked by any band to hold it back. Its silver
sheen framed his face and his angular features
perfectly, bringing out the steely color of his eyes. His
nose and mouth were cut perfectly, as though out of
marble, and his thin lips were curved downward in a
sort of frown.

"Draco?" Ginny's voice came out weak, as she sat in

awe of the beauty in front of her. She didn't know
what to do or say, but was just content to be looking
into his eyes once again.

Draco took a step forward, his arm snaking around

Ginny's waist as he pulled her to her feet. Her purse
fell to the ground as she wrapped her arms around his
neck and allowed him to kiss her roughly, his tongue
invading her mouth in much the same way as it had
the first time, giving her no say in the matter. She
pressed back, moaning softly into his mouth, trying to
put all of the lonely days and thoughts of him into the
sound that came from her throat… and from much
deeper inside of her. She moved her hands so that
they caressed his face, feeling the soft skin beneath
as he continued to kiss her thoroughly. Finally he
leaned back slightly, breaking the lock of their lips and
lowering his eyes to hers.

"Ginevra, what happened to your hair?" He asked

sternly, letting his fingertips wrap themselves slowly in
the ends of the red locks.

Ginny smiled slightly, unwilling and unable to talk

about something so trivial. "I missed you." She
whispered, running her fingers across the slim red
lines that formed his mouth, his lips subtly twitching
into a brief smile as she did.

"I missed you, too." He said, a soft look taking over

his features: a look Ginny had rarely seen. This was
the look he had only given her rarely when he had
been tired or worn out and let his guard down, and it
had never stayed for long. She gazed at his face,
drinking in this look that she knew wasn't likely to last
for long. This was the real Draco, the one that she
had been allowed to see briefly in their school days. "I
wish things hadn't turned out the way they did." He
said, surprising her with the tender reflection in his
voice.

"I do, too." Ginny sighed, her head leaning towards

Draco's hand in her hair, brushing her cheek against
the warmth of his fingers. "I wish we could have
stayed in touch."

Draco shook his head, dropping his hand and turning

from Ginny, taking a few steps away. "I didn't mean
that. I meant the Dark Lord. I wish I hadn't chosen the
side I chose. That's what drove you away from me. It's
too late now."

"That isn't true." She stepped forward until she could

lay her hands on his hunched shoulders and lean her
head against his back. "I understand you, Draco. I
know you aren't evil. I'm here now, and we can be
whatever you want us to be."

He turned around, "It isn't a question of you taking me

back, Weasley." He scoffed. This was the Draco that
she knew, that everybody knew, and yet Ginny still
loved him anyway. "I know you'd do that, you're so
pathetic like that. You were so obsessed with me
back in school."

"Then why?" Ginny was getting a little nervous about

this. Maybe it hadn't been such a good idea to come
back to Draco, vulnerable. She had a sudden stab of
fear that maybe he was married, or with another
witch, one that was pure blood and worthy of the Dark
Lord's army.

"It's too dangerous. You could never be with me in

secret, you can't even exist in secret. There's really
not much of anyone who's not on the Dark Lord's side
who can do anything in secret. He probably knows of
us meeting here even. It would be stupid and ignorant
of you to think we could be anything." Draco said as
he turned back to face the little girl he'd once been so
infatuated with, the mask of his face cold and hard as
it had always been at school even then.

Ginny nodded, relieved at least that it wasn't someone

else, someone who had taken her place in his
thoughts and emotions. She turned to pick her
muggle purse up off the ground and pulled a leather-
bound book from it. "Will you at least sit for me, one
more time?" She asked, her eyes looking up at him
hopefully.

Draco stood still, motionless. "You can work your

magic without a model, why did you need me?"

"I wanted to have one last picture of you… one last

little piece. A real representation of who you are now."
She answered quietly, seating herself on the park
bench and opening the book to a blank page. She
pulled a pencil from her bag and slowly started to
sketch the man in front of her; the beautiful man that
had grown from a young lanky boy to a fully filled out
man, having every stage in between captured by
Ginny's pencil and in Ginny's books.

A tear formed slowly in Ginny's eye as the form was

perfected on her paper, drawing the pencil across
slowly, knowing somehow that this would determine
that amount of time that she saw this boy. She knew
somehow deep inside of her that it would be her last
time. As she put the fine details on the man on the
paper she looked up… but Draco was gone.

Tears rolled slowly down Ginevra's face, and she

didn't bother to blink them away. She knew it they
would be the first of many.

Ever since Hogwarts, he was a Slytherin, I was a

Gryffindor. I guess nothing has changed. We're still in
different houses, on different sides. It didn't stop us
then, but it's keeping us apart now. I guess this isn't
Hogwarts anymore.

Disclamer: The Wounderful World Of Harry Potter

Belongs To JK Rawlings, However The Plot And Such
Is All Mine ... Enjoy :)

The snow was falling down softly freezing Ginny's

face with the harsh wind that whipped around the top
of the astronomy tower.
But Ginny didn't care, she came here to think and cry.
She didn't take notice of the harsh winds or the snow
or how cold she was standing there in her school
robes, or even that there was someone watching her.
Ginny was here thinking about Dean, they had just
had another fight, and Ginny was just trying to
understand him. Ginny really cared for Dean, but
these fights were a recurring event, and often over the
littlest of things, however today it was because Dean
had been snogging Lavender Brown. And now Ginny
was stuck with the hard decision of whether she
should just end it or hold on to what they have. The
simplest thing would be to end it, when Ginny knew
deep down she couldn't ever love him because she
was in love with Harry even if she refused to admit it
to herself anymore. But ending it meant going to
Slughorns party alone, when the rumours were flying
around that Harry had asked someone already. And
Ginny couldn't face going alone.

Ginny did care about Dean, and maybe if they talked

about it they could work things out, but every time she
tried they just seemed to fight more. But even if Ginny
pictured her and Dean making up, and hi m telling her
once again that Lavender threw herself at him, and he
hasn't had time to react, and that's when she came in.
She couldn't believe him no matter how hard she
tried. Ginny was so confused and frustrated and
currently hated that she didn't understand boys.

By now her tears were falling quickly and freely, she

wasn't bothering to wipe them away, instead they just
clung and froze against her face and Ginny was sure
he makeup was running down her face and her long
red hair was whipping ever which way in the harsh
wind, looking down from the tower she could see
Lavender walking on the grounds gossiping with
Padma Patil. And it was all just too much for Ginny
and she felt numb from the cold and the pain, she
backed away from the railing of the town and she was
suddenly felt sick and dizzy. Right when she thought
she was about to faint she felt strong warm arms grab
her around the waist and put her into a sitting position
against a wall in the tower and out of range or the
wind, Ginny was to numb to register who it could be
but felt him shuffling beside her and suddenly felt a
warm cloak being wrapped around her and for a while
Ginny just sat there, before she turned to look at the
person sitting beside her.
Ginny looked into the gray eyes of Draco Malfoy.
Instead of cringing away and slamming him with an
insult, for the first time Ginny looked at him. Really
looked at him, she took in his toned muscular pale
skin, his gray eyes that once seemed cold, seemed to
captivate her, and his blonde hair that looked so soft
she wanted to run her fingers through it, and finally
his soft pink lips that for the first time were not curled
into disgust at the sight of her. It was then that she
noticed for the first time Draco was handsome and
there was nothing cold about him, but then maybe
that's was because Ginny wasn't in the best state of
mind right now.
"You're starring," Draco said simply as his lips curled
into a smirk as her watched Ginny take him in.

Ginny didn't deny as she felt her cheeks flush pink.

Draco seemed to frown and slowly bring his hand up
to brush it against her cheek. "Your pale, almost
blue," he said simply. "And your frozen." He said as
he jerked his hand back from her face. "Why are you
out here without a cloak?" He asked, he opened his
mouth as if to continue and then paused taking in her
tear streaked face, her disordered hair and her
smudged makeup. And his mouth took the shape of a
small O and he looked away.

"I'm, I'm s-sorry," Ginny added lamely.

Draco turned to look at her for a while before he

spoke. "The weather is about to get a lot worse you
real shouldn't be out here, you should go back to your
Common room." He said.

"No. I can't go there. I can't." Ginny paused as she

took in the flicker of surprise that crossed Draco's face
before he masked it. "I can't face them." Ginny added
looking up to meet Draco's eyes.

"Well, err do you have somewhere to go, because you

can't stay here your frozen and no offence but you
look like a zombie. How long have you been up
here?"

"Since this morning." Ginny replied looked down at

the frozen hands she couldn't feel.

"So you haven't eaten?" Draco asked shocked.

"No, I woke up and I saw..." Ginny could finish she

couldn't continue with what she had saw. What she
had felt even the memories of it brought more tears to
her eyes and she cried harder than she had all day.

"Come on then," Draco said quietly as he lifted

Ginny's small body up from the floor and wrapped the
cloak closely around her body.

As soon as Ginny stood up the world seemed to be

spinning and her head hurt she felt herself wobble
and felt Draco's strong arms wrap around her once
more as she lead her towards the stair leading down
from the astronomy tower and Ginny didn't protest
right away until they reached the corridor of the castle
when Ginny stopped.

"No I can't go to Gryffindor town, please." Ginny

begged quietly.

"I know, it's okay." Draco whispered as he lead Ginny

down the deserted hall.

---

Ginny lay in large upholstery four poster bed with

green sheets wrapped around her small shaking
body. She didn't take in the surrounding she just lay
on the bed where Draco had placed her.

Draco was across the room sitting in a chair by the

fire.
Ginny hadn't protested when Draco lead her down a
hall she had never been in or through a portrait she
had hardly looked twice at, instead she let him lead
her through the portrait door and into the room for the
head boy and girl, and slowly into his room.

Draco turned to look at Ginny's small fragile body

shaking in the bed before he asked her a question.

"Are you still cold?" Draco asked quietly, not masking

his worry.

"Freez-z-ing" Ginny managed to say.

"You're still pale, are you hungry? I can get a house

elf to send up some food," Draco asked as he slowly
crossed the room to where Ginny lay in his bed. He
climbed in beside her and wrapped her in his arms.

Ginny didn't try to shove off his arms instead she

snuggled closer to him and let the heat from his body
try and warm her. After a while she was still so cold,
she untangled herself from Draco's warm embrace
and pulled off her sweater and snuggled against him
in her tight tank top. The heat from Draco's body now
enveloped her cold skin. She felt Draco reach up and
pulled off his shirt exposing his toned bare chest, and
Ginny didn't seem to care because he was so warm
and strong that she sat there in his bed, wrapped up
in his sheets and his arms for a long time before
either one of them said anything.
"What did he do to you?" Draco asked slowly as he
brushed some hair out of Ginny's face.

"What do you mean?" Ginny asked not looking up to

meet his gaze.

"You were out there all day, and you didn't want to
see anyone, and you were…you looked like my mom
does when my dad…I dunno what happened?" Draco
finished as he turned his gaze away from her and
towards the fire.

Ginny sat there for a moment taking in what Draco

said before she answered him.
"Dean, he this morning I woke up and-"Ginny paused
closing her eyes to stop the tears from coming. She
felt Draco's body stiffen and felt his arms pull her
closer to him.

"Did he hurt you?" Draco whispered as he turned to

face her, as if he didn't want anyone else to hear.

And Ginny knew she could tell him, that if there was
anyone that she could tell it would be him, because
he wouldn't tell anyone, and he wouldn't judge, not
now anyways. So Ginny looked up to meet his gaze
and started from the beginning.

When she was done Draco sat there in silence he

was laughing as she knew he would be, he didn't give
her a pitying look like Hermione would have, instead
he looked at her in such an intense way that Ginny
began to realise how intament their position was, and
for the second time tonight Ginny felt a flush creep
across her face, but she didn't pull away.

"Lavender Brown?" Draco said laughing, after what

seemed like hours of silence.

Ginny didn't say anything juts closed her eyes, maybe

she had expected too much of him, after all this was
Draco bloody Malfoy. But just when Ginny was about
to pull away he continued his voice softened and he
reached up to touch her cheek with his hand.

"Dean Thomas is a bigger idiot then I thought. If he

cheated on you with Lavender Brown." Draco said.
Ginny looked up with doubt in her eyes, and before
she could say anything Draco continued.
"You are everything she isn't, you're smart, you look
good without even trying, you are not a giggling
gossiping idiot, you know who you are, and you're a
really good chaser."

Draco looked down to meet her gaze and she saw

that he genuinely meant it, even if he was only trying
to make her feel better, but that was okay because it
was working. Draco reached over and pulled her once
again even closer so there was no room for escape in
his arms, but it wasn't intimidating as it would have
been any other time, instead it was comforting, and
that's exactly how they stayed as they fell asleep that
night.

---

Ginny woke up in the middle of the night in a sweat,

she turned over and with a jolt saw she wrapped in
the arms of Draco Malfoy. Ginny sat up immediately,
and slowly detangled herself from his arms. She
slowly creeped out of bed and looked around the
room. With a sinking feeling she realised that she was
in his bedroom, Ginny silently cursed herself for her
own stupidity, struggling to remember the events of
last night.
A quick glace around the room once again showed
Ginny where the door to the bathroom was, and
Ginny quickly tiptoed across the floor and into the
bathroom.
Once inside Ginny closed the door and slowly slide
down on her knees. What had see been thinking?
Draco bloody Malfoy? The Slytherin sex god? No
wounder he was so nice and understanding last night.
He was a Malfoy there was so nice and
understanding, he had tricked her to get into his bed,
who know what he did to her when she finally fell
asleep for exhaustion.

No, Ginny didn't believe that at all, last night he was

different. But then so was she, was she not? Did she
not cry because of a boy, cry in front of a boy? She
had never done that before, growing up in a family
with seven brothers she learned quickly, she wasn't a
flimsy girl, she was one of the guys. She was Ginny.
She would never let something like this get to her, she
had done everything right, crying where no one would
find her, crying where she wouldn't look weak, but
then Draco Malfoy came. And then something
accured to Ginny, why was Draco up there, at that
hour in the freezing cold? Unless he had something to
do, like Ginny that he didn't want anyone else to find
out. Right then Ginny realised that maybe Draco
wasn't as bad as everyone thought he was, maybe
just like her, he put on a mask for everyone else.
Right now that's what Ginny was hoping, because as
of right now Draco knew her biggest secret.
Ginny got off the surprisingly cold ground and looked
to her knees. To her surprise they were bar, she
wasn't wearing the pants she had on last night,
instead she had on a pair of black boy shorts. Ginny
gasped slightly, she slept in a bed with a boy in a tank
top and short little shorts? But no it wasn't like that at
all, not with Draco, not last night. Ginny slowly made
her way across the room to the mirror, and gasped
when she saw her face.

She had large black mascara tracks down here

cheeks, her eyes were all red and puff from crying,
she had dark purple bags under her eyes, which she
expected had more to do with lack of sleep then her
makeup, and Ginny's always perfect red hair was a
mess.
Ginny sighed once again when she realised she had
left her wand in her pants pocket, so instead Ginny
set about fixing herself up the muggle way.

After about ten minutes of absorbed scrubbing she

was red and puffy face, that was thankfully clean on
makeup. The only trace of last night's events were
small purple bags under her eyes, but Ginny wasn't
worried about those, they were hardly noticeable.
Instead Ginny needed to fix her hair, she looked
about the bathroom for a brush and found one in the
first drawer, and so Ginny set to work until each red
strand was perfectly in place.

Ginny put the brush back and stood there looking at

herself. Only her eyes were red and puff now, the only
reminder of last night. Ginny tried to recall everything
that had happened and then remembered something
Draco has said to make her feel better when they
were lying in bed. "You are everything she isn't, you're
smart, you look good without even trying, you are not
a giggling gossiping idiot, you know who you are, and
you're a really good chaser." He had said she was
good looking without even trying, she looked horrible
last night, she was ashamed to have been seen by a
boy looking like that, much less Draco Malfoy. But
still, once again last night felt different, they had
talked, and without realising it he made Ginny feel
much better about her situation than any of her
friends would have.

Ginny took one last look at herself in the mirror and

crossed the huge bathroom and came to rest in front
of the door. Ginny took a deep breath and slowly
turned to door handle and stepped into the bedroom.

Sitting on the bed in a pair of silk green boxers was

Draco Malfoy; he was examining a large tray that
rested on the bed. It was covered with different foods,
and it was then that Ginny realised how hungry she
was.

At hearing her enter the room Draco lifted his gaze

from the tray to across the room where Ginny was
standing, his eyes slowly took her all in, from her now
clean hair and face, to her black boy shorts and tank
top. For a minute Ginny could have sworn his jaw
dropped, but she deffinatly wasn't imagining the way
he was checking her out.

A smile crossed Ginny's lips as she spoke.

"Now you're starring."

---

"So I think I owe you a deep secret," Draco said not

looking up to meet Ginny's eyes, as he helped himself
to more breakfast.

"Oh?" Ginny asked.

"Yeah, I really don't think you go around crying and
staving yourself on a daily bases. Unless that's the
secret to your great figure a lot more girls at Hogwarts
should try it." Draco said causally.

"Hmm," Ginny replied. Tensing, not wanting to bring

up the events of last night.
"Well, and I'm not going to bother telling you not to
repeat this Weasley, because I presume you know
perfectly well what the consequences are but, well
I've never told anyone, so I might as well start with
you, well you see I'm in love with Hermione." Draco
said simply.
Ginny sat there shocked starring at him as he loaded
his plate with food.
"You're starring," Draco said with a smirk.
"You're kidding right?" Ginny asked. There was no
way that Draco-bloody-Malfoy. M-A-L-F-O-Y,
pureblood, son of a death eater, could be in love with
Hermione, the girl he tormented since his first year.
Calling her as wells as names and calling Hermione
herself a "mudblood" to her face no less.
"No you actually are, your mouth is hanging open
too." Draco added as he threw a grape into his mouth.
"Whaa?" Ginny started, only realising that Draco was
laughing. "Oh so you are kidding? You don't like
Hermione, that's sort of mean you know. She really
isn't half as bad as you think, she just happens to be
one of my best friends and I don't appreciate you
making a joke out of her." Ginny stammered frowning.
"Awh, come on I was kidding." Draco said lighting.
Ginny continued to frown. She was sitting here, in
Draco Malfoy's room eating breakfast with him, and
he was cracking jokes. If anyone had ever told her
this would happen, not just to her or to anyone she'd
have them shipped off to St. Mungo's.
"Trust me Ginny, I know she's not bad at all." Draco
whispered more to himself then to her.
"And you're in love with her?" Ginny asked again.
"That's what I said," Draco sighed getting slightly
annoyed.

"Since when? And why didn't you ask her out?" Ginny
asked.

"Why didn't I ask her out?" Draco repeated shocked.

"I thought you were smarter than that red. Her best
friend, and boyfriend if rumours are correct is Harry
Potter! And as I'm sure it's not news to you, we have
a very strong dislike for each other, and in case you
forgot who my father is he's a Malfoy, so even
acknowledging her for more than an insult is
forbidden." Draco finished taking a deep breath and
looking away from Ginny.

"Wow, erm. Then why are you telling me this?" Ginny

asked slowly, trying to make sense of things.

"Because last night, I dunno, you're in love with

Potter, you don't have to tell me Ginny, I see the way
you look at him, and its killing you, because you liked
Dean so much. And you want him to pay for what he
did to you. I understand that, and I can help you. If
you want." Draco stopped talking and turned to face
Ginny.
"Potter is dating Hermione, and you love him, and I
love her." Draco stopped suddenly staring at Ginny as
she tensed up.

"Oh my gosh Ginny I'm so sorry, I thought you knew."

Draco rushed quickly, reaching across the table to
squeeze Ginny's hand.
Ginny couldn't believe it, Harry and Hermione?
Hermione was the only person Ginny had ever told
about her feelings for Harry, and she was the one that
encouraged Ginny to date Dean, telling her that he
only thought of her as a sister, and that the best way
to get over him and move on was to date other boys.
But no knowing that they were dating, made Ginny
second guess everything Hermione had told her.
Could it be that Harry liked her all along, and that
Hermione just wanted him all to herself?
"Ginny?" Draco said softly.
"No, its okay, I should have guessed I mean she-"
Ginny couldn't continue she felt crushed, hollow and
betrayed.

"It's okay, I understand." Draco said.

And Ginny just nodded because she knew that he of
all people did understand.

"How are you going to help me?" Ginny asked looking

up to meet his gaze.
Draco smiled and squeezed her hand and said "Want
to go out with me?"
---

"Are you sure I should do this?" Ginny asked Draco

for the up tenth time on their walk to Professor
McGonagall's office.
"I'm sure, but you really don't have to do it Ginny, it's
not that big of a deal, I mean we'll see each other and
them at lunch and in the halls…" Draco trailed off.
"Okay, its okay I can do this." Ginny sighed as they
reached her office.
"Good, I know you can. Meet me in my room when
you're done." Draco said as he turned away. He
stopped suddenly and walked back to her and gave
her a hug.

"Good luck," he said before he took off down the hall

again smirking.

Ginny knocked on the door to Professor McGonagall's

office, and she heard her voice trail through the other
side telling her to come in. Ginny took the seat at the
small desk in the corner of the room Professor
McGonagall motioned for her to take. Ginny looked
over at the Professor as she continued scribbling on a
piece of paper. She was wearing Emerald green
robes, which Ginny had always found a bit odd for
someone who was head of Gryffindor, she had her
hair tied up in a tight bun, and wore a crooked witch's
hat that sat tilted to one side at the top of her head.
Her square glasses were tilted down on the tip of her
nose as she continued writing.

Several minutes later she put down her pen and

crossed the room to where Ginny sat.
"Now Ginny I'm very glad and also very surprised that
you and Mister Malfoy both sent me owls this morning
asking for this test, although I have no doubt in my
mind that you can complete it, or of course I wouldn't
have invited you here, but I'm obliged to ask if you're
sure you want to. You do realise that this means you
will have to take Defence Against the Dark Arts at a
sixth year level rather than a fifth, that you aren't
getting a free period?" Professor McGonagall asked
Ginny.

Ginny nodded slowly.

"Okay then." McGonagall flicked her wand and a

stack of parchment appeared in her hand.
"This is the written part of you examination, and you
will complete your second part in Professor Snape's
office after you are done this. Now Ginny I don't want
to put to much pressure on you, and you are more
than welcome to refuse. But when I approached
Professor Dumbledore with the idea of you moving up
a level in Defence Against the Dark Arts, because
you've always been the top of your class he thought it
was a splendid idea, but after talking to your other
Professor's he has come to the decision that, if you
wish, you can move up to the sixth year completely if
you are to complete simple examinations for all of
your fith year classes. And now I understand that it is
almost halfway through the year but-"

"Okay," Ginny said quickly.

"Okay? You're sure?" Proffesor McGonagall looked
down at her, and frowned slightly.
Ginny nodded her head slowly.
"Okay then, I had all your teachers prepare you an
examination just in case, and Dumbledore will have to
inform you parents, and he has also decided to let the
school pay for all you're books and supplies, and he'd
like you to sit with your teachers today if you pass to
get filled in on everything you've missed. And to be
assigned tutors if need be." McGonagall looked down
on Ginny once again with a half smile on her face this
time.
"I'm very glad that you are in Gryffindor Miss
Weasley." She said before she flicked her wand once
again. Loading the small desk with the examinations,
ink and a quill.

"You may begin." She smiled as she crossed the

room and took a seat at her desk.
-
"So she is going to owl you when you're results are
in?" Draco asked slowly.
Ginny and Draco layed sprawled across his bed
waiting for Professor McGonagall's owl.

"But how will she know you're in here?" Draco asked

suddenly as he jumped off his bed and began pacing
around the room.

"I told her I would be here," Ginny said

"I bet she loved that." Draco smirked as he continued
pacing around the room.
"Draco have you forgotten that I am the one who took
the examinations?" Ginny laughed. As Draco stopped
his nervous pacing.

"Oh yeah sorry." Draco said as he sat down on the

bed across from her.
"I hope I passed." Ginny said quietly.

"Oh course you did," Draco said looked across the

bed meeting Ginny's gaze.

"Were you not the one pacing around the room

nervously for about an hour before I convinced you to
sit down? Only to get up once again and pace?"
Ginny asked laughing.
"Oh shut up. Do you think you passed?" Draco asked.

"Well I'm pretty sure I passed transfiguration, and

Defence Against the Dark Arts. And I'm almost
positive I passed Care of Magical Creatures and
Herbology. And the other I don't know. In all honestly I
was surprised on how well I did In Defence Against
the Dark Arts." Ginny said smiling.

"Why? I've been on the receiving end of some of you

spells, and trust me I've never seen a Bat-Bogey hex
like yours. And I'm sure you're choice of clothing
might have helped a bit" Draco said laughing.

"Oh, yeah sorry about that. And my what?"Ginny

asked looking down at her ropes only to gasp in
horror.
"Oh my gosh I am wearing your robes!" Ginny
exclaimed hoping off the bed.
"Well they do so much more for you then your snotty
Gryffindor robes," Draco added calmly hiding his
laughter.

"Oh shut up! No wonder McGonagall was eyeing me,

I went for my examinations wearing Slytherin robes,
and I told her to owl my results to your room. She
must think I'm a whore." Ginny sighed as she sat back
down on the bed.

"So you are saying that I Draco Malfoy only keep the
company of 'whores'?" Draco asked eyeing Ginny.

"No that's not what I meant at all, I mean, I just never,

oh never mind." Ginny sighed biting her lip.

"Well if that's the way you feel by all means, we don't

have to continue this sheared." Draco said getting off
the bed and crossing the room.

Ginny sat on the bed quietly. As she remembered the

events of last light. Draco had proposed that the best
way to get the ones they were really in love with was
to 'pretend to date'. It was so simple, Harry hated
Draco, and once he and everyone in the school saw
that Ginny and him were dating they would begin to
talk. It was so unlikely that they would suddenly
become the most popular couple at Hogwarts. Harry
would instantly become jealous and spend more time
around her, thus brining Hermione. They eventually
Harry would fall for Ginny, leaving Hermione for
Draco. It seemed foolish when you said it in your
head, but Draco made a very convincing case last
night.

"That's not what I meant Draco," Ginny said

exasperated.

"I know, I was only kidding." Draco replied as he

crossed the room and sat back down on the bed.

Ginny and Draco continued talking about the

examinations until they heard scratching on the
window, they both turned and saw a barn owl
scratching on the window, and at the same time they
leaped from the bed and raced over to open the hatch
to let it in.

Draco beat Ginny to the window and threw the hatch

open and pushed out the window, letting the freezing
cold air enter the room. The owl flew in and stopped
in front of Ginny with its leg held out. Ginny quickly
untied to letter and watched as the owl flew out the
window and Draco latch it behind it.
"Well are you going to open it?" Draco asked excited.
Ginny didn't wait another minute to open the letter and
she ripped it open. Ginny read the letter twice to be
sure she had read it right.

Miss Weasley,
I am pleased to inform you that you have passed all
your examinations excellently. Only myself and
Professor Snape have expressed an interest in you
catching up to the work you have missed, and as A
result I invite you to come to my office to go over you
schedule and be assigned a tutor.
Congratulations Professor McGonagall.
-
"I can't believe they actually let you be my tutor!"
Ginny exclaimed as she and Draco walked down the
hall after her meeting with Professor McGonagall.

"Well I thought it was obvious," Draco said as he

walked along side Ginny in the hall.

"Oh really and why is that?" Ginny asked giggling.

"Well naturally, she's attracted to my good looks.

Although I must admit even she is too old for my
taste." Draco said smugly.

"Oh I'm sure it had nothing to do with you asking your

god father to encourage McGonagall, or that fact that
I refused to stay in the meeting if you weren't allowed
to." Ginny said shooting Draco a smug look that made
him chuckle.

"Well at least it will help our image at any rate." Draco

sighed as he and Ginny approached the heads dorm
and Draco said the password and put his hand on the
small of Ginny's pack to push her through the door.

"Yes but, well do you think I'll need lots of help?"

Ginny asked biting her bottom lip.

"No, not right now maybe eventually but I have to go

meet Blaise soon so do you want me to walk you
back to Gryffindor tower?" Draco asked as he took a
seat by the fire in the common room.

Ginny sat down beside Draco on the small couch and

starred into the dancing flames for a few minutes
before she spoke.
"What if he's there, with her?" Ginny whispered softly
more to herself than Draco.

"Oh man, I am so sorry Ginny I wasn't thinking. But

well you have to go back some time right? And I
mean you can stay here again tonight if you want, but
the weekend ends today, and I don't think
McGonagall will like it if you skip your first day." Draco
stopped talking and starred at Ginny; he couldn't help
but feel like he would do anything to make her happy.

"I'll go with you. We can go to your tower and get

some of your stuff you can stay here tonight. I don't
know how well that will go over with your brother.
Thank god most of them graduated. Not that I'm
worried though." Draco spoke quickly not sure what to
do to make Ginny happy.

"No, I need to go and do this by myself. You go with

Blaise, I'll go back to my dorm." Ginny rose from the
couch and was pulled back down by Draco.

"It's okay Ginny I understand but if you want me there

to make Dean mad or whatever I'll do it. And I don't
have to meet Blaise now anyways, he can wait. But
first thing is first let's go get some supper." Draco
said.
-
Ginny was surprised that they didn't cross paths with
anyone as they were walking to the great hall. They
were walking down the stairs when Ginny stopped.
Draco kept walking, then when he noticed she had
stopped he stopped and turned to face her.

"Hey what's wrong?" Draco asked.

"He'll be there, maybe this isn't such a good idea."

Ginny stammered, starring at Draco with large
frightened eyes.

"Hey don't worry I have a plan okay, we're going to

make him wish he had never cheated on you." Draco
smiled and held out his hand for her. Ginny walked
down the steps and placed her small soft hands in his
large ones.
"You ready?" Draco whispered meeting Ginny's gaze
as the approached the great hall.

Ginny nodded her head slowly as they slowly started

walking. There were lots of people in the hall, and
because it was the weekend there were people from
different houses sitting with their friends, some
wearing their school robes, and some wearing normal
attire. Ginny looked down at her skirt and Draco's
Slytherin robes and smiled slightly.
Without looking up she could feel all eyes in the great
hall on her, and she could hear the conversations
slowly fading. Ginny quickly became self-conscious
and could feel her blush creeping up on her face,
knowing how badly it would clash with her red hair
she bent her head covering her face with her hair.

She let Draco guide her to the Slytherin table and he

lifted her face up with his gentle hand.

"Ginny, you have to show Dean how wrong he was."

Draco whispered in her ear. He was so close to her
face, Ginny could feel his hot breath on her neck.
"Make him regret everything," Draco kept on
whispering.

So Ginny held her head up high as she sat with Draco

eating and laughing. Ginny soon forgot that she was
in the great hall and that everyone was starring at her,
instead it felt like she was in the safety of Draco's
room and it was just the two of them.

"I would say I hope you have a perfectly good reason

for being very late. But by your present company I
would say you have more than a perfect reason." A
low voice said from behind both Draco and Ginny.

"Awh Blaise, I'd say I'm sorry. But like you said with
my present company I'm really not." Draco said
smirking as he turned to face his friend.

Blaise took a seat on the other side of Ginny. Ginny

could make out his Slytherin tie and collared shirt, and
she couldn't help but notice how well it stood against
his dark and built body. Ginny was too busy starring
to register that Draco was talking to her until he
placed his hand on her arm.

"Huh?" Ginny asked taking her gaze of off Blaise and

returning it to Draco.

"See this is exactly why I didn't meet you, I don't want

you stealing my girlfriend," Draco said playfully
smirking at Blaise.

Ginny though the hall was quiet before, but it was

nothing compared to the way it was now. Draco had
said the magic words. The words that everyone in the
great hall had been wondering since Draco and Ginny
walked in hand and hand. It was so quiet now Ginny
was sure that you could have dropped a pin across
the room and still have heard it from where she was
sitting.

Blaise raised an eyebrow slightly at Draco referring to

Ginny as his girlfriend, and his eyes flicked to her for
merely a second then his face went back and both he
and Draco continued their conversations.

"Ready to go?" Draco asked Ginny as more people

started to flow into the great hall.
"I guess," Ginny said as she rose to her feet.

Blaise remained sitting. Draco turned to look at his

friend about to ask the same question when Blaise
spoke, "I'm waiting for Daphne Greengrass, you go on
ahead."

Draco shrugged and grabbed Ginny's hand as he led

her out of the hall and up the stairs.

"Well that went well." Draco chuckled.

"That was horrid, everyone was starring," Ginny said

shivering.

"And why shouldn't they, Hogwarts hottest bachelor is

dating Ginny Weasley, I'd be starring too they're just
jealous." Draco said smugly.
"I'm sure that's why," Ginny said laughing.
"That's and they are probably all wondering why Dean
was so stupid to let you go. I know I would be thinking
that." Draco said smiling over at Ginny.

When they reached Gryffindor tower they both

stopped.

"So…" Ginny said feeling very awkward.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow, uh in the great hall or in
class you have Defense Against the Dark Arts, and
then a free period right?" Draco asked more out of
something to say rather than curiosity; because he
had already made sure Snape got them the same
schedules.

"Yeah," Ginny said smiling.

The portrait hole opened suddenly and Dean and

Lavender stumbled out hand in hand. Before Ginny
could even muster reaction Draco wrapped his arms
around her and kissed her.

The kiss was nothing like Ginny had ever had before.
It lasted only a few seconds then Draco leaned in
towards her and whispered softly.
"He's regretting it now." Draco straightened up and
took a step back from Ginny smiling. "Good night
Ginny." he said, as he turned on his heels and
heading off down the hall to his dorm.
Ginny watched him go only for a few seconds before
gave the fat lady the password and ran through the
portrait whole and up to her room. Not noticing that
Dean and Lavender were the only couple there. That
they had gathered a whole crowd and right at the front
had been Harry and Hermione.
-
After Ginny undressed and slipped into bed she fell
asleep instantly. She woke up early the next day
before the other girls in her dorm had, and slipped
into the shower. By the time Ginny was dressed and
ready to head down to the Great Hall, the other girls
were talking in a small group, already dressed.

"I heard she was moving out of our dorms," one girl
whispered.
"Well she cheated on Dean with Draco, I don't blame
her. If I had a chance to shag the Slytherin price I
would move in with him to." Another girl piped in.

The small group of girls seemed to stop talking and

just stare at Ginny as they watched her come in.
Ginny pretending like she hadn't heard them, and
headed over to her trunk to fetch her books. Only to
remember that she didn't have any, and assumed that
her teachers would give them to her when she
showed up for class. So instead Ginny turned around
and headed downstairs towards the common room.

"Ginny!"
Ginny didn't have to turn to know whose voice that
was; although Ginny stopped in her tracks she didn't
turn around.
"Ginny, wait up," Deans voice rang across the
common room.
Ginny was aware that what little conversation that
was held in the room immediately stopped when
Dean started walking towards her. Ginny took a deep
breath and turned to face Dean.

"Ginny where have you been, I haven't see you

since-"
"Since when?" Ginny started cutting him off. "Since I
saw you snogging Lavender Brown, and don't tell me
she threw herself at you, because I'm getting tired of
hearing that." Ginny sighed. Surprisingly keeping her
voice calm as she strode over to the portrait hole and
walked through.

"Wait a minute I'm not done!"Dean roared.

"Well I am!" Ginny yelled. Ginny blinked back tears.

There was no way she was going to cry over this boy
again, no less in front of half of the Gryffindor tower
who had silently gathered around.

"Lavender wasn't my fault, I told you that. But what

about you?" Dean said folding his arms across his
chest.

"What about me?" Ginny asked exasperated.

"Were you not hauled up in Draco Malfoy's room all

weekend, did you not let him walk you to the tower
and kiss you goodnight! God Ginny do you even
realise what you're doing to yourself. I'm sorry alright!
Now you can stop throwing Draco in my face and
come back, I miss you." Dean said more softly than
his previous tone, as he slowly walked towards her.

"You've missed me?" Ginny asked as calmly as she

could muster, using all her strength not to hex him.

"Yeah, and I mean it's not like Draco actually likes you
anyway, I'm sure you were good fun for him. But let's
face it you don't belong with him, you belong with me,
so just stop your rebellious stage, because you've got
my attention. We belong together Ginny everyone
knows it." Dean said reaching for Ginny as he closed
the space between them.

"You missed me?" Ginny whispered quietly,

"Yeah, Ginny I just said that." Dean sighed.

"You missed me? Do you think that line will actually

work? How many times have I walked in on you and
Lavender? How many times have I believed your
excuses? Well I'm done now we're done now! Leave
me alone." Ginny yelled.

"Don't you dare put all of this on me Ginny; you were

hulled up with Draco Bloody Malfoy all weekend. You
cheated on me to." Dean smiled smugly as he folded
his hands across his chest.
"I cheated on you?" Ginny could not keep her anger
under control. Her jaw dropped. She couldn't believe
what Dean was saying. As if he thought that she
would just come right back to him, after what he was
saying to her! "Normally after about the tenth time of
me walking in on my boyfriend with another girl, and
when I tell you to stay away from me; that usually is a
sign that it's over! I wouldn't stoop to your level! I
would never cheat on anyone, because I know what it
feels like," Ginny answered.

"I told you she threw herself at me, why aren't you
listening to me. And maybe if you'd put out I wouldn't
be so slow to shove her off!" Dean yelled.

Ginny took a step back from him, her jaw hanging

open. His words stung more than the sight of seeing
him with Lavender. She raised her wand, ready to
show him exactly what she thought of him now, when
a warm hand on her shoulder stopped her.

"Allow me Ginny," Draco's voice came from behind

her.
Ginny slowly lowered her wand expecting Draco to
raise his, but instead her pulled her to face him by the
belt loops in her skirt and lightly tilted her chin up with
his finger. He held her gaze for only a second before
he brought his lips down to hers and kissed her. The
kissed only lasted for a few moments before Draco
pulled away and kissed the tip of her noise. He
winked making her blush before he turned to face
Dean.

"You're wrong," Draco said simply. As if he and Dean

we discussing the weather.

Dean starred at him with his mouth hanging open

before he closed it, and then reopened it to reply.
"And what exactly am I wrong about Malfoy?" Dean
said as his hand tightened around his wand.

"You and Ginny don't belong together, and I do like

her. More than you ever have, or will. She's not a
prize or fun shag. And now not only do you disgust
me, but I pity you. Because you didn't realise what
you threw away." Draco said simply as he slipped his
hand into Ginny's as he pulled her along the hall.

When they were finally in a deserted hall, Draco let go

over her hand and stopped.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, I just didn't realise how much of a jerk he was,"

Ginny said. More to herself than to Draco.

"Yeah, I would have loved to hex him, but the look on

your brother's face? I figured I'd save him the
honours." Draco said smirking as he continued
walking down the hall.
"What my brother was there?" Ginny asked still
standing in the same spot.

"Yup, I figure I'll let him take his anger out on Dean,
rather than me. The kiss definitely sent both him and
Dean on edge. And now that I think about it I swear I
saw a muscle in Potter's jaw twitch." Draco said, as
his laugh filled the deserted hallway.

"Harry was there?" Ginny asked.

"We should wait awhile before we head to the great

hall, you know really make an entrance? Just to be
sure that Potter and Hermione are there." Draco
continued talking as if he hadn't heard Ginny.

"Make an entrance?" Ginny asked confused.

"That way they'll wonder what took us so long, seeing

as we left first. But I think its better that you sit with
them, tell them we took our time because I was
comforting and snogging you, really work it up for
Hermione." Draco said.

Ginny eventually tuned him out. Ginny had just seen

Dean for the first time since she saw him with
Lavender, and Draco didn't seem to care. It seemed
to her that all he cared about was getting Hermione to
fall in love with him. Not that she had really expecting
differently that's what they were here for. But
considering everything that happened she thought
that Draco had actually cared, that they were friends.
But maybe it had all been an act to make sure Ginny
would agree to his plan. But it didn't matter to Ginny
just then, if that's what Draco wanted that's what he
would get. She was done fretting over Dean, he was a
jerk. And Ginny was now ready to make sure both she
and Draco ended up with the right person.
-
Ginny was moving the eggs around on her plate with
her fork; she had lost all apatite after her fight with
Dean. Coming into the Great Hall with Draco she
expected her friends to react just like Dean had.
However after Draco turned towards the Slytherin
table Luna rush up and gave her a hug, and Collin
Creevey had given her a sympathetic smile as she
passed. But when she went to sit beside Hermione it
was Neville who had surprised her by giving her a hug
and telling her as much as he hate Malfoy, right now
he was better than Dean.
And now Ginny sat their moving her untouched eggs
back and forth on her plate really hating Ron. When
Ron heard what Neville said he jumped at the chance
to tell Ginny that maybe Dean was right and if Ginny
wouldn't be such a tease none of this would have
happened. But one look from Hermione made him
apologize and keep his mouth shut until Hermione
turned to address her.

"Ginny I am so sorry about Dean; I never should have

encouraged you to date him. I am so sorry, after
classes today if you want we can talk. I'm so proud of
you though Ginny, I mean I knew you really must
have liked him after you stayed with after all the times
with Lavender. But I am really glad you stood your
ground and found-"
"Proud of her!" Ron roared cutting Ginny off. "How
can you say that? Or were you to blind to see the part
where Malfoy had his tongue shoved down her
throat!" Ron turned on Hermione.

"Hey Ron, loosen up, this isn't Hermione's fault

remember?" Harry asked jumping in to defend
Hermione.

"So you're saying it's mine?" Ginny asked, speaking

for the first time since she sat down

"No" Hermione and Harry replied instantly both

turning to look at her.

"Yes" Ron said glaring at his two best friends.

"Fine whatever," Ginny said rising up from the table

and about head to class.

"Do you really like Draco?" Hermione asked.

Ginny froze and took a minute to compose her

feature; Hermione's question had taken her by
surprise. She didn't turn around to answer her instead
she stood where she was half on the bench half off
when she answered.
"Yeah, I do, a lot." Ginny answered quietly.

"Then not only am I proud of you but I'm happy for

you. " Hermione said.
There was something in her voice that made Ginny
turn to face her.
"Even if it is Draco Malfoy?" Ginny asked quirking an
eyebrow.

"Especially because it is Draco Malfoy," Hermione

said quietly.

"What? Are you encouraging my sister to hang

around Draco Malfoy!" Ron started yelling. Ginny
slipped out of the bench and began to leave the great
hall when she heard Harry call her back.

"Wait Ginny! Let me go with you," Harry said slipping

out of the bench.

"Okay, I'm juts going to Defence against the Dark

Arts" Ginny said.

"No you aren't you have herbology," Hermione said

matter of factly.

"No." Ginny paused remembering that they didn't

know that she was now in the same year as them.

"Professor McGonagall let me take an examination; I

passed everything so I'm in the sixth year now." Ginny
added.

"What!" Ron roared looking out raged.

"Really? How come you never took that Hermione?"

Harry added

"Because Harry I don't want to miss anything. Anyway

I'm really happy for you Ginny, and if you need help
we can work during our free period after Defence
against the Dark arts together." Hermione said
smiling. "Speaking of which we should leave for that
now unless we want to be late." Hermione added.

As the four of them started down the hall for Defence

against the dark arts Ginny couldn't help wondering
how Hermione knew she had a free period after this
class.
-
"So she seemed like she cared? Or was she trying to
make conversation?" Draco asked for the sixth time.

They were standing near the back of the class room

in defence against the dark arts. Ginny was parried
with Draco and they were supposed to be practising
their non-verbal spells.

"Like I said before I'm not sure it was really either.

She seemed to be talking to herself more than me."
Ginny replied exasperated. Ginny had just finished
telling Draco about her conversation with Harry, Ron
and Hermione, than no soon had Draco launched into
questions about Hermione's mysterious comment.
"So tell me exactly what she said again?" Draco
asked.

"I told you she asked me if I really liked you, I told her
yes. She told me she was happy for me, I asked her if
she was happy for me even if I like Draco Malfoy.
Then she told me that it was and I quote 'Especially
because it is Draco Malfoy'." Ginny snapped.

"I do believe than non-verbal spells require no

talking," Professor Snape said. Relatively peeved as it
was now the third time he had told them to be quiet.
"Five points from Gryffindor." Snape smirked as he
walked away.

"That's not fair, Malfoy was talking to!" Harry said from
across the room.

"And so Mr. Potter, are you. Twenty points for

Gryffindor, and don't question my authority again."
Draco smirked as he looked at Ginny.

"What ever, shove it Malfoy. It's my turn, I'm going to

try and disarm you," Ginny said. As she tried to get
her head into the class.

"Okay time is up I want everyone to switch partners.

Now everyone male travle clock-wise." Snape's voice
rang out from the front of the classroom.
"So much for that," Draco laughed as he moved
closer to plant a kiss of her cheek before he switched
when Ginny stiffened. "Hey what's wrong?" Draco
asked. As he placed a hand on her arm and starred
into her eyes.

"It could be the fact that you have your hand on my

girlfriend," Dean's voice rang from over Draco's
shoulder.

"She is no longer your girl friend Thomas." Draco said

as he stepped protectively in front of Ginny, and
turned to face Dean.

"Is there a problem here?" Snape's asked as he

appeared beside Dean.

"No, Professor." Draco said smiling,

"Well that I take it you will have no trouble finding you

partner Mr Thomas, and get back to work." Snape
said coldly.

"Ginny is my partner," Dean added.

"Well than, since the three of you seem content to

stand around and talk during my class, I am sure no
doubt that you will have no trouble demonstrating a
simple non-verbal disarming spell upon you appoint
for the class." Snape said with a fait smile.
"Of course," Draco said smirking as he pulled out his
wand.

"Actually Mr. Malfoy, I think since Miss Weasley

seems to be the constant in this problem that we will
let her and Mr. Thomas demonstrate." Snape said as
he backed up to give them room, with the rest of the
class gathering around and following his lead.

"Sorry," Draco whispered as he stepped back to give

them room.

Ginny stared straight ahead at Dean. How she would

love more than anything just to send a bat-bogey hex.
It would make up for a small part of all the tears she
was holding back from his outburst this morning and
they cold way Draco seemed to handler her pain, by
only caring about Hermione.

"Go" Snape voice trailed from side of the room.

And before Ginny had time to really think she saw
Dean raise his wand with a smirk and Ginny quickly
raised hers and before she knew it Dean was covered
in large, bat-winged bogies.
Most of the class laugh and a few people clapped,
and Ginny just stood there as Lavender ran up to help
Dean.

"Five points from Gryffindor. You were supposed to

do a non-verbal disarming charm Miss Weasley. Not
a non-verbal bat-bogey hex." And with that Snape
strode to the front of the class to write the homework
on the board.

Ginny stood there still in shock with the fact that she
had done a non-verbal spell when Hermione ran up to
her and gave her a hug.

"I'm so proud of you Ginny. But how did you do it? It

took me a while before I could even get a faint sign of
my disarming charm." Hermione asked.

"Yeah, you put Dean in his place," Harry said meeting

her gaze.

And Ginny was sure that Harry was going to give her
a hug when Draco came up from behind her and
wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Good job, I hope that made you feel better. He

deserved it, although I would have enjoyed hexing
him myself, It was more fun watching the look on his
face when you did it." Draco mumbled as he kissed
her check.

Ginny turned to say something to Harry, only to notice

that he was gone. Ginny sighed and walked back to
her seat with Draco to copy down the homework. The
whole time Ginny couldn't help think that Draco
seemed more set on getting himself and Hermione
together rather than her and Harry.
-
"Uh, Ginny are you doing anything?" Draco asked as
the bell rang and everyone filed out of the classroom.

"Well I'm packing my books in my bag, so I suppose

so," Ginny said as she turned to Draco with a smile on
her face. Hexing Dean had raised her spirits
considerably, but the nervous look on Draco's face
made her stop.

"Why, what's up?" Ginny asked carefully.

"Well if you weren't planning on doing anything during

your free period, I thought since Blaise is busy today.
That we could hang out together," Draco asked as he
tilted his head to the side and starred at Ginny.

"Oh course Draco," Ginny replied happily, and a bit

confused as to why Draco was so nervous about
asking her. They were dating, well at least pretending
he didn't have to be so nervous.

"Okay, so shall we go to my Head boy room to

deposit our bags?" Draco asked.

"Sure" Ginny replied as she finished writing down the

homework and putting all her books into her bag.

Ginny and Draco walked side by side in the hall, until

a fourth year Ravenclaw started walking down the
hall, did Draco slip his hand in hers. When they
reached the Head boy and girl room, Draco said the
password and they both walked through the small
common room to his private chambers. Draco went to
use the bathroom so that left Ginny alone to walk
around and inspect his bedroom.

When Ginny heard Draco coming out she sat down

on the bed and motioned for him to join her.

"Can ask you about something Draco?" She asked

quietly.

Draco raised an eyebrow and sat down beside her.

"Draco, do you. Do you love your parents?" Ginny

asked carefully.

"I love my mother yes," Draco said slowly.

"But not your father?" Ginny asked turning to look at

him. They sat in silence for a few minutes before
Draco raised his head to look at Ginny.

"No, I don't love him." Draco whispered looking into

her eyes.

Ginny didn't say anything she just nodded and slipped

her hand into his.

"When I was little my father used to get mad over

every little thing. Living in the huge Malfoy Manor isn't
much fun when you're banned from almost every
wing, or even forced to stay in your room. When I was
eight years old I was curious as to what my father
always did in his study. My mother was always sad; I
thought it was because my father always worked late.
I wanted to make her happy, I wanted more than
anything to make her happy, so I snuck into my
father's study. I planned on doing some of his work for
him so he wouldn't be home so late. I was eight I
thought I could do anything. But when I walked in he
was torturing this boy for the whereabouts of his
father. I suppose the boy wasn't that old only fifteen at
the most. But still what he was doing didn't seem
right; I ran in and told my father to stop. He was
furious sent a house elf to bring me to my room. I
waited for what seemed like hours until my father
returned with a whip. That was the first time he had
ever beat me. It most certainly wasn't the last, many
other times soon followed, even if I had done nothing
wrong, and it wasn't always just a whip. Yet through it
all it wasn't the little boy's eyes I saw when I tried to
close my eyes at night. It was the eyes of my mother
when she passed by my room to see what the
sobbing was about, and then later when she came to
clean my wounds. It was her eye so full of tears so full
of fear that stay with me. And that's when I realised
she wasn't happy when my father was home she was
scared and it was so easy to see under her fake
smile. The smile I couldn't see through when I was a
little eight year old boy." Draco finished looking down
at their hands.
Ginny didn't say anything. She just sat there in shock.
Shock over the fact that a father, someone who was
suppose to be there for his child could do something
like that. Shock that it was a harsh reality for Draco.
Shock that he had told her at all. And shame that she
had judged him at all.

And for that Ginny did the most natural thing,

something she didn't do because she knew they were
in public and there was someone watching them.
Ginny turned to Draco and wrapped his arms around
him and they just sat there for a while before Ginny
spoke.

"In my first year, when your dad gave me Tom

Riddles Diary. I- well I'm sure you know what
happened. But I didn't know what I was doing, honest.
Tom was my friend. He was my best friend and the
first real friend I had ever made. I told him everything,
and he showed and told me things he had never
showed anyone. He meant everything to me, I would
sit in class counting down the minutes till I could run
up stairs and talk to him. I had my own little world with
him. The whole time he played me. He knew how left
out I was, being in a family with six boys, you may find
it hard to believe, I was ever alone. I'm daddy's little
girl, but I was always daddy's little girl. I was a faithful
follower of the Dream Team. I was the little girl with
the crush on Harry Potter. But he saw through what
everyone else saw. And he betrayed me, he made me
do things, he made me see things that I will never be
able to forget. Things he did, things'." Ginny paused.

She felt Draco's body shift and he lifted up her chin so

he could look her in the eyes.

"Gin, it's okay, I understand," Draco whispered as he

brushed her hair out of her eyes.

"No, nobody knows. Sometimes I feel like he's still

here when I get dreams, the things I see they make
me feel so dirty. And sometimes I just want Tom back,
the friendship we had." Ginny said as the tears fell
freely now.

"I do know Gin, its okay, he's gone. And you have a
real friend now." Draco said. As their roles were
reversed and he was the one holding Ginny, and
wondering if she would ever really know how much
she meant to him.
-
"I'm sorry Ginny," Draco said as they walked down the
corridor hand in hand on their way to charms class.

"For what?" Ginny asked tilting her head to look a

Draco.

"For this morning, I dunno, uh. I panicked I guess I

didn't expect Dean to be like that. I knew he was a
prat, but for him to say those things." Draco said as
he starred down the hall.
"That's not your fault," Ginny said with a laugh. Even
though she felt that it was far from funny.

Draco shrugged as they continued down the hall.

Ginny took the silence as a time to think of her life. In

just two days she went from hating Draco Malfoy, to
relying on him to fake dating to friendship. And the
thought made her shiver, because they were fake
dating. Everything Draco and her had done had been
fake, an act. And deep down even if she wouldn't let it
show, that hurt. Because she had opened up to him,
like she had never opened up to anyone before.

When they reached the charms class room they

lingered outside the door before class started, neither
in a hurry to leave each other's company.

"Hey Weasley you look like you've been crying.

What's wrong, Draky didn't want a filthy Gryffindor's
sloppy seconds?" Pansy's screechy voice came out
loud from down the hall.

Ginny tensed and looked up at Draco, she knew that

you could probably tell she had been crying but she
hadn't really cared much until now.

"Oh shut up, jealous because I've finally found

someone worth my time?" Draco's voice rang out
across all the murmurs of people who had stopped to
watch the encounter before heading off to their
classes.

"You're kidding right, she's a blood traitor and a slut,"

Pansy wined.

Draco pulled out his wand and pointed it at her. "Don't

you dare-" Draco started fury in his eyes, when Blaise
appeared by his side.

"Don't mate, she's not worth the detention," Blaise's

voice said softly,

"She's not worth anything actually," Draco said as he

pocketed his wand and pulled Ginny into the
classroom behind him.

Draco lead Ginny to a seat at the back and they both

sat down. Blaise followed them quietly and sat down
on the other side of Ginny.

When class started McGonagall asked someone from

each table to come up and get a bunny, and that they
were going to use a colour changing spell to change
the bunny yellow.

"He really likes you," Blaise said as he reached down

to grab his bag from under his seat.

"What?" Ginny asked not sure if she had heard him

correctly.
"Draco, he really like you, he wouldn't have defended
you if he hadn't." Blaise said.

"It's complicated," Ginny sighed, wishing for a little

while that it really wasn't.

"Only because you've both made it complicated. I've

known Draco since we were little. He's my best mate,
I know when he's pretending." Blaise said as he stood
up. "And he's not," he added smiling as he leaned
down to whisper into her ear.

Draco walked over carrying three rabbits with a

curious expression on his face. Blaise grabbed a
rabbit with a small smile and a nod as he walked off
across the room to sit with another Slytherin boy.

"What was that all about?" Draco asked raising an

eyebrow as he handed Ginny her rabbit.

"I honestly don't know," Ginny sighed.

-
Ginny sat on her bed, thinking to herself. She was all
alone seeing as all the other girls were down at
dinner.

She tried to focus on anything else but what she was

trying to forget. And yet here she was thinking only
about Draco. Why had she told him what she had?
Why did she open up to him? Was it because she
needed to comfort him? And Blaise's words kept
coming back to her. "Only because you've both made
it complicated. I've known Draco since we were little.
He's my best mate, I know when he's pretending. And
he's not."

Did Draco tell him that it was all a show? Were they
both just playing a cruel trick on her? No matter how
Ginny thought about it she knew that their relationship
had changed. She trusted him like she trusted no one
else before. He was the first person outside of her
family that had seen her cry. He was the first person
to see her breakdown. And yet he didn't say a word or
anyone. He had been there for her, and she had been
there for him.

Everything that was happening was new for Ginny,

she was laying down her trust and emotions in the
hands of someone she once hated. And now it
seems, like someone she was finally getting to know.
That she could finally understand the Malfoy she
thought she had known. When really he hadn't known
him at all, nobody had except maybe Blaise. "Only
because you've both made it complicated. I've known
Draco since we were little. He's my best mate, I know
when he's pretending. And he's not."

His words echoed in her head, 'he's not pretending.'

Blaise had said that, but maybe Blaise didn't know
Draco well enough, maybe Draco didn't tell Blaise his
feelings for Hermione because he knew how his
father would react.

Everything was too much for Ginny as she lay down

on her back on top of her bed and before she knew it
she was asleep.

"Ginny, did you honestly believe that I could forget

you?" Tom's asked as he stood in front of her in the
Chamber of Secrets.

"No," Ginny said with a smile. She had longed for this
day when Tom would return telling her had had no
choice but to leave her and how he regretted it.

"Than you are far more pathetic then when I last saw
you! Being amongst muggles and mudbloods and
weakened your pathetic emotions. Because you are
just that Ginny weak!" Tom spat on the ground in front
of her.

Ginny took a step back, finally seeing Tom for what

he really was. Gone was his silky locks of black hair,
and his kind brown eyes once full of friend ship were
now gone. In their place were lifeless eye eyes that
were darker than the blood on the floor. Wait there
was blood on the floor? Ginny looked down again and
saw in horror that the blood was dripping from claw
marks on her arms.

Tom's lifeless laugh rang through the Chamber.

"You are weak Ginny Weasley, and such a shame to
waist you blood, when there are so few pure bloods
left." Tom stepped closer to her and gave her a
sympathetic smile that never reached the laughter in
his eye.

"No," Ginny said taking another step back.

"There is still a chance for you Ginevra, your time will

come when you fill fight for what is right along my
side." Tom said as he closed the space between them
and stroked her cheek, making her face burn.

Ginny recoiled in disgust.

"I will fight for what's right," Ginny said softly, making
Tom smile. "And it will be against you NOT with you!"
Ginny cried, vanishing the smile on Tom's face.

He gathered his composure and slapped her across

the face, making the skin he had touched burn.
"You'll regret ever saying that, but no matter you will
join me Ginevra it is your destiny." Tom said with a
smile as he raised his wand.

Ginny sat up in a cold sweat and glances around the

room. Looking over at the clock on her night stand
she could see that it was exactly midnight and all the
other girls were asleep soundlessly in their beds. But
Ginny couldn't feel safe even with five other girls in
her dorm or in fact the whole Gryffindor house. There
was only one person who could make her safe, and it
didn't matter that it was past curfew, she would do
anything to see him.

-
Ginny was running down the hall towards the head
boy and girls private chambers. The only sound was
the smacking of her bare feet against the cold stone
floor. But Ginny wasn't worried about her feet, nor
was she worried about getting caught out of her
house after curfew. There were only two things on
Ginny's mind. Her nightmare that seemed all too real.
And the fact that she desperately needed to see the
one person that could make it all better.

Ginny finally reached the portrait that contained the

entrance to Draco's room, only to realise that she
didn't remember the password. Ginny starred at the
portrait for only a few seconds before she slid down
the wall and sat down. She had only been there for a
few minutes when the portrait hole flew open. Ginny
turned to see who had opened the door when she
saw that Hermione was standing there in a pair of
matching short and tank top PJ's. Something Ginny
was sure that she had never even seen Hermione
look at before.

"Oh gosh Ginny what are you doing out here?"

Hermione said in a disapproving voice as she looked
down the hall to make sure she was alone before she
ushered her in the portrait hole.
"I came-"Ginny started but was cut off by Harry.

"Ginny is that blood" Harry asked.

Ginny turned to see Harry in nothing but boxer shorts

starring at her with his mouth hanging open.

"Wha?" Ginny began.

"OH MY GOSH! That's blood, GINNY YOU ARE

BLEEDING! WHAT HAPPENED WHATS WRONG?"
Hermione screeched as she grabbed hold of Ginny's
shoulders.

"Mionie, calm down. Ginny you're all pale what

happened?" Harry asked approaching her.

"YOU'RE BLEEDING WHAT HAPPENED?" Hermione

cried as she shook Ginny.

"Granger I told you, if you and Potter were going to

continue your late night role plays to please-"Draco
stopped when he saw the sight Of Ginny.

"Malfoy can't you see-"Harry started but was cut off by

Draco.

"Ginny, what's wrong?" Draco asked quietly.

"Nothing that involves you Malfoy, as you can see we

have it under control." Harry replied as he stepped in
front of Ginny.

Ginny starred at Draco, she had forgotten that she

was bleeding; she thought that it was only a dream,
but if she really had scratched her arms raw maybe
the dream was real to? Ginny froze instantly
remembering.

"Granger take your hands off my girlfriend this instant

and Potter move out of the way I don't want to hex
you right now." Draco said as he crossed the room to
Ginny.

Draco stood right in front of Ginny, she was looking

right at him but she didn't see him.

"Gin, love look at me what's wrong?" Draco whispered

softly as he brushed the hair out of her face.

As he did so Ginny broke down and started crying

and holding onto Draco for dear life. Draco effortlessly
slipped his arm under Ginny's legs and picked her up
as if she was a feather and slowly carried her off into
his private chambers.

"And where d you think you're going with her Malfoy?"

Harry roared as he followed closely behind them.

"Harry don't," Hermione said, sensing that Ginny

came here for Draco and not her.
"Don't! Don't? Hermione are you daft! You think I'm
going to let my best mate's sister get taken by Draco
Malfoy into-"Harry began ranting,

"Harry he's her boyfriend," Hermione sighed trying to

get Harry to calm down,

"Her boyfriend! You think that makes it better? When

have you ever seen Ginny cry Hermione, she was
covered in blood! Malfoy is going to take advantage of
her!" Harry snapped at his girlfriend before he took off
through the small common room in pursuit of Draco.

"Harry please," Hermione said as tears fell from her

eyes.
-
Draco placed Ginny on the safety of his bed before he
slipped back out into the hall to yell at Harry. As soon
as he left Ginny couldn't help but re-live every single
moment that she had with Tom. She cuddled up into a
ball and began to chant Quidditch plays from Oliver's
old handbook, which she had found in the dressing
room one day. Ginny started chanting them slowly
under her breath, so that she could think of anything
but Tom.

Ginny was so caught up in Oliver's pointless and

complicated plays that she didn't realise that Draco
was back until she felt the bed shift under his weight
and felt his strong arms pull her close. Ginny instantly
felt safe surrounded in his strong arms. Draco
reached over and brushed some of the tears that
were still falling from her face.

"Ginny, what happened?" Draco asked softly.

"I had a bad dream," Ginny answered.

She felt Draco stiffen as he pulled her closer. Draco

knew her well enough to know that Ginny wouldn't
have come crying in the middle of the night over just
any bad dream.

"Was it-?" Draco began, but stopped when he saw

Ginny nod her head and bury her face into his chest.
Ginny and Draco sat like that for a full ten minutes
before Ginny looked up to meet his gaze and told him
what had happened.

"But the blood?" Draco asked.

Breaking sitting in silence since Ginny had told him

what had happened.

"I scratched myself in my sleep," Ginny said biting her

bottom lip in embarrassment.

"This deep?" Draco asked astonished.

"I guess," Ginny said glancing up at him.

"I didn't know you did that," Draco said quietly with a
chuckle.

"I don't" Ginny said with a small frown, which wiped

the small smile off Draco's face.

Ginny shifted around in Draco's arms for a few

minutes debating on whether or not he would let her
stay the night if she asked.

"I have, I mean if you want Gin I have a shirt you can
wear to bed. Unless you want me to walk you back to
your common room." Draco asked slowly, not looking
at Ginny.
"No." Ginny said quickly. "I mean can I stay, please?"
Ginny looked up to meet Draco gray eyes.

Draco nodded slowly and walked over to a dresser

and pulled out a long white tank-top

"I trust you remember where the bathroom is?" Draco

said with a small smile as Ginny took the shirt from
his hands and made her way towards the bathroom.

Ginny emerged from the bathroom a few minutes later

dressed only in Draco's white tank-top, over her bra
and underwear.

"Do you want me to fix that for you?" Draco asked.

"What?" Ginny replied looking confused and flustered

as Draco's eyes scanned her body.

"Your arm, do you want me to fix it?"Draco asked as

he slowly approached Ginny and gestured to his
wand and than her arm.

"Could you?" Ginny asked quietly.

Draco nodded as he stepped closer to her. And that's

when Ginny noticed that Draco was dressed in only a
pair or silk boxers. Ginny quickly continued to recite
some more of Oliver's Qudditch plays in her head.

Draco grasped Ginny's arm gently and raised his

wand.

"Vulnera Sanentur," Draco said.

Ginny watched as her deep gashes slowly sealed up.
When they were finished Draco carefully traced her
arm where the gashes once were.

Ginny looked up to meet Draco's eyes. They held

each other's gaze for only a few seconds before
Draco tilted his face down and his lips came down on
hers. For the first time there was no one there for
them to put on a show for. And Ginny instantly lost
herself in the kiss as she felt Draco lift her up gently
and lay her down on the bed.
-
"I'm sorry," Draco said quietly.
Ginny slowly sat up and let her breathing return to
normal before she answered him.
"Don't be," Ginny said quietly.

How could he be sorry for something that was so

incredible? Ginny didn't have to say it out loud to
admit that she was falling for him, she felt it deep
down. She touched her lips lightly with her fingers,
she could still feel his touch and the taste of his
mouth, and yet she was already suffering from
withdrawal.

"It's just you want to get Dean back, and I know you
like Harry. And well I like Hermione so I don't know
why I did that, I'm sorry." Draco said turning to face
Ginny, his face an unreadable mask.

Ginny felt her smile fade as she starred at Draco.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Ginny sighed softly.

"And I know it mustn't have been easy for you to see

Harry and Hermione like that when you walked in, and
with the nightmare, and- Well I'm sorry," Draco added
lamely.

Ginny watched Draco for any reaction for a while, did

he honestly think she still liked Harry? Did she ? She
hadn't really noticed that he was with Hermione when
she came in. Thinking about it now she knew she
should have expected it. They were dating, and yet
the thought of what they must have been doing,
judging by what they were wearing, and what Draco
had said, didn't seem to bother Ginny.

"Do you want me to go?" Ginny asked quietly hoping

he didn't hear her so she wouldn't have to retreat to
her room alone.

"You're more than welcome to stay Ginny, I couldn't

make you sleep alone after what you just saw." Draco
added as he sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Oh, okay." Ginny added sitting back down.

Both Draco and Ginny climbed under the covers

sitting as far away from each other as possible. Draco
waved his wand and the lights went out.

Ginny heard him place the wand lightly on the table

beside his bed and sigh quietly. All around Ginny the
darkness seemed to move, beckoning her closer and
closer as if to swallow her in. Ginny shivered at the
thought.

"Are you cold?" Draco whispered as he wrapped his

arms around her and pulled her close.

Ginny said nothing and let him gently pull her closer
against the safety of his exposed chest.

"Will he ever go away?" Ginny asked quietly.

"I don't know Gin, but I real hope so. " Draco said
softly as he pulled her even closer.

Ginny closed her eyes and listened to the sound of

Draco's breathing, and as she was about to drift off to
sleep she could have sworn she heard Draco
whisper. "but for now I get to fall asleep and wake up
with you in my arms, and that is more than I ever
dreamed of."

Ginny woke up the next morning feeling kind of cold.

She rolled over only to realise that Draco wasn't there.
Ginny opened her eyes and looked around. There
was a not on Draco's pillow and Ginny's heart started
to flutter as she picked it up to read it.

Gin, if you are up before I get back I had to meeting

with Snape, and then I'm going to stop by the kitchen
to get some food. If not then don't bother to read this

- Draco

Ginny smiled, why would he bother to write that if she

wasn't going to read it? Ginny chuckled as she
crawled out of bed and walked across the room into
the bathroom. Ginny was in desperate need of a
shower to wake her up. Ginny walked into the
bathroom and closed the door gently. She turned on
the shower, quickly got undressed and stepped
inside.
-
Ginny screamed loudly, and stopped in her spot.

Blaise sat up instantly and pulled out his wand, when

he noticed it was only Ginny he lowered it.

"What are you doing here?" They both asked at the

same time.

Bliase smiled and when Ginny didn't return his smile

he asked "Where's Draco?"

"He had a meeting with Snape," Ginny said frowning

at the amused expression that crossed Blaise's
features. And pulled her towel closer to her body.

"I see, so what are you doing here then?" Blaise

asked slowly taking in Ginny dressed in nothing but a
white fluffy towel.

"I slept here," Ginny answered. As soon as she

noticed the sparkle in his eye and the large smirk that
crossed his face she quickly continued.

"I mean, I- well something happened last night, and I

needed-it's not what you think," Ginny added lamely,
not trusting the sly Slytherin with her secrets.

"I see, but like I said before I know Draco," Bliase

added as his expression turned serious.
"Alright," Ginny said as she shifted the towel around
nervously.

"And you are both making this more complicated than

it has to be. Trust me I don't like seeing my best mate
like this." Blaise said as he hopped off the bed and
began walking towards her.

Ginny opened her mouth to reply, but was cut off by a

knock on the door. Blaise and Ginny both turned
towards the door. Blaise raised an eyebrow as he
changed courses and approached the door. He
swung the door open and smirked at the sight of
Hermione is her short pink bathrobe.

"Zabini," Hermione nodded to Blaise as she stepped

into the room.

"Ganger," Blaise replied as he mock saluted her.

"Ginny, I came to tell you that you should probably

leave before Harry is up," Hermione said starring at
Ginny, as both her eyebrows shot up at the sight of
Ginny in nothing but a towel.

"Really now Granger, I'm sure if Potter gets to jealous

that he is more than welcome to join in on their
slumber parties. All he has to do is ask." Blaise said
with a smirk.

"Actually Hermione I was just coming to see you,"

Ginny replied ignoring Bliase. "Do you think you could
go up to the tower and get a few of my things?" Ginny
asked with a small smile, gesturing to herself in the
towel.

"Well I was heading over there," Hermione began.

"Excellent, I was just leaving also, we can go

together!" Blaise said in a sing-song voice as he
gestured to the open door.

"Well, I guess," Hermione hesitated as she

approached the door. "Are you okay now Ginny? I
mean last night-?" Hermione paused on the way out
the door.

"Yeah I'm fine, but do you think you could hurry,"

Ginny said with a smile.

"Of course," Hermione said as she walked out of the

door and waited for Bliase to follow her.

"Draco needs to hear what you haven't said love, he's

been waiting too long for it." Blaise whispered so only
Ginny could hear, he quickly winked as he followed
Hermione out of the room and lightly closed the door.

Ginny walked across the room and sat down on the

bed with a sigh. She really had no clue what Blaise
was talking about. What hadn't she said to Draco?
Was this about Tom? Was it because she didn't tell
Draco how she thought her nightmare last night was
more than just an ordinary nightmare? Or was it more
than that? Ginny sighed once again as she went to go
lay back on the bed her back hit something. Ginny sat
up and turned around. To Ginny's surprise there was
a large box sitting on the bed with her name on it and
a note.

Ginny tore of the note and read it quickly.

Ginny,
I was in a hurry so I just sent your things over quickly.
I hope this is everything you need. See you in class in
an hour.
-Love Mione

Ginny smiled brightly as she tore open the box and

grabbed her cloths and robes and ran to the bathroom
to slip them on. Happy to be out of the towel Ginny
went back over to the bed to retrieve her bag with
everything for classes. Reading the note again made
Ginny realise that she had to go to class today,
making her heart sink at the prospect of not being
able to stay in bed all day. However realising that
classes didn't start for another hour made Ginny
groan. Had see really woken up that early?

"I hope that's because you're hungry, because I've

brought breakfast." Draco's voice chuckled from the
doorway.
-
Ginny and Draco were holding hands as they walked
down the hall on their way to their first class. Except
already this simple act felt different to Ginny. It felt
more really, she could feel a million butterflies floating
around in her stomach, and suddenly every person
that starred at them seemed to bother Ginny. Did they
think she wasn't good enough from him?

"You know Potter and Weasel-King and are going to

give us a hard time. I'm sorry; maybe I should have
brought you back up last night." Draco said as they
turned down a crowded hall.

"No," Ginny snapped quickly turning to look up at

Draco with an apologetic look. "No, I wouldn't have
left, I needed you last night," Ginny said meeting
Draco's eyes.

Draco opened his mouth to reply, but he was cut off

by the sudden appearance of Pansy Parkinson.

"Isn't that cuuuute," She began as she strode towards

them, closely flanked by a group of snickering
Slytherin girls. "She needed you last night? But then
doesn't every girl you decided to play with for a few
weeks. Come on Draky this act is getting old. What
did you tell her? If she dated you, that you'd help her
with something? What lie did you feed her? You've
had your fun; all of us Slytherin's have had a good
laugh, now come on back." Pansy screeched as she
reached for Draco's free hand.
Ginny was suddenly aware that all the conversation
that was once in the hall had died down, and slowly
they were surrounded by a crowd of students. At the
words help her with something Ginny stiffened. Could
Draco really have been using her? True they weren't
actually dating but they were together for a common
interest, why should she care if he was just using her?
She didn't actually like him. But that was the problem.
Even if Ginny didn't tell him or herself she really
couldn't deny the fact that she was falling for him.

Suddenly Blaise's words came back to her "Draco

needs to hear what you haven't said love, he's been
waiting too long for it." Could it really be that he had
fallen for her?

"Gosh, will you ever give up! I am not going to wait a

minute of my time talking to you," Draco said as he
pulled Ginny through the crowd.

"Dating him would solve your problem and his? Is that

what he told you Weasley! That as soon as it was
fixed you could call it off? But it's not like that for you
is it? You've gone and fallen for him haven't you, you
silly girl? Don't worry you're not the first." Pansy's
voice came out in almost a whisper.

Ginny stopped in her tracks and turned to face Pansy,

there was a small smirk on her ugly pug-like face.
Ginny didn't say anything she just dropped Draco's
hand and starred at her. Could she really be right?
How did she know unless she was in on it?

"Jealously really doesn't suit you love," Bliase's voice

rang from behind Ginny. "But then again Parkinson,
nothing really does now does it? I'm surprised Daddy
had enough courage to even let you out of the house
let alone school," Blaise said as he walked up behind
Ginny and placed a hand lightly on her arm.

"What will it make for you to understand? I DO NOT

WANT YOU! I never had, I never will." Draco yelled to
Pansy. "You honestly have no idea what Ginny
means to me," Draco said in barley a whisper.

Ginny turned around to face him, and from the corner

of her eye she could see Blaise shaking his head
slowly.

"Draco, you don't like her ,she's a blood traitor! Your

father wouldn't approve of this game! I know you, this
isn't you, I miss you," Pansy said taking another step
towards him.

"This has nothing to do with my father! And you do

NOT know me!" Draco said gripping his wand tightly.

"Love he was never there for you to miss him

anyways," Bliase said with a chuckle. "Really now
Parkinson you're making yourself look pathetic, save
what very little respect you have left in this school and
walk away." Blaise said as he stepped in front of
Ginny.

"Draco you are betrothed to me, so it really doesn't

matter now does it. And I for one don't want to ever
have to remember you little rebellious fit with the
blood traitor slut." Pansy said with a smirk.

The bell rang signaling that class had started and yet
nobody moved, it seemed everyone was frozen,
bewitched to watch the scene play out.

Ginny felt all the blood wash away from her face. And
any hope of her and Draco vanish.

"I could care less what our families have planned for
us Pansy, I don't want you." Draco said as his anger
boiled.

"Draco, come on, she's not worth it. Don't do it like

this mate." Blaise warned Draco.

Ginny stood there starring at Draco with a loss for

words, she really had no clue what Blaise was talking
about, and she was using everything she had not to
start crying right there in front of everyone.

"I love Ginny," Draco started, starring right at Pansy.

"I LOVE GINNY!" Draco cried as he turned to face
everyone in the crowd.
Slowly Draco turned to face Ginny, took her hand in
both of his and stepped closer to her.

"I love you Ginny," Draco whispered.

He was so close Ginny could feel the tingle of this

breath on her face. Slowly his face inched closer to
her and Ginny took a step back.

Draco starred at her with confusion all over his face.

"Draco, don't" Hermione's voice rang from somewhere

in the crowd.

"Man I told you not to do it like this," Blaise voice

came from the distance.

Soon the hall was filled with the voices of everyone in

the crowd. And yet Ginny didn't hear any of it. For the
first time she could read every expression that was
written all over Draco's face, and they all came
crashing down on her. A tidal wave of emotions and
Ginny couldn't handle it, not here, not in front of so
many people. Not when she didn't know what to
believe. So instead Ginny pulled her hands from
Draco's and turned around and ran.

She ran through the crowd of people, she ran past

classrooms and distantly heard both professors and
students alike call her back. And yet for the first time
Ginny didn't listen, she just ran. She didn't know
where she was going she just knew she needed to
get away.
-
Ginny slowed down once she reached the astronomy
tower. She slowly walked to the very edge and she
sat down with her back propped up against the wall.
She was finally alone and the tears were falling freely.
Ginny buried her face in her hands and started to cry
even harder. She couldn't deny that she had fallen for
Draco. She had fallen from him hard she knew that
know. But she still didn't understand where he stood.
Did he really love Hermione? He was betrothed to
Pansy does that mean that this whole thing was a
joke?

And yet Ginny couldn't get to look on his face out of

her head, he had looked so sincere, and like he could
finally be himself when he told her he loved her. And
when she stepped back, the look of confusion, shame
and heartbreak was too much for her to bear. Had it
all been real?

"Ginny?" Hermione's voice called softly from the top

of the stairs leading to where she sat. "Ginny I know
you probably don't want to talk to anyone. But I
thought I should tell you he never loved me, it was
always you. We thought, we just thought. Ginny I'm so
sorry we thought that if you really got to know him you
could fall for him to. We never thought it would end
like this." Hermione said sobbing quietly.
"I did, I told you from the very beginning Hermione
that you shouldn't play with love." Bliase's voice rang
from somewhere near Hermione.

"Blaise now really this isn't the time." Hermione

snapped.

"Isn't it? Because of you, you've ruined any chance of

them being together. Do you even realise the state
that Draco is in right now. He thinks that he lost his
only shot." Blaise said his voice rising slightly.

"And did he?" Hermione asked quietly.

Ginny knew her question was directed at her but she

didn't answer instead she just sat there, with her face
in her hands, desperately wanting to be alone. And
after a few minutes she was.
-
"Ginny." Draco said talking a small step towards her
then stopping himself.

Ginny didn't say anything she just stood there starring

at him.

"Ginny. Pansy and me. Well that's just it there is no

me and her," Draco sighed running his fingers through
his hair.

"Right, why should it matter anyways? It's only

pretend." Ginny snapped.
Draco said nothing just starred at Ginny for a while.
And Ginny felt unease under the scrutiny of his gaze,
she decided she wasn't going to stand there and be
the punch line of his jokes. So she moved to walk
past him and he stepped in front of her, blocking her
path.

"Get out of the way," Ginny sighed fighting back the

tears she felt coming up again.

"It wasn't pretend," Draco whispered.

"Yeah, I know you got just what you wanted, a good

laugh for all your Slytherin friends. You even got
Hermione and Blaise in on it." Ginny snapped, once
again moving to get by Draco only to have her way
blocked.

"Hermione and Blaise? They told you?" Draco asked

surprise crossing his face.

"Yeah, and if you honestly thought that what Dean did

to me was bad. You have no idea what this feels like."
Ginny said not bothering to stop the tears that were
falling from her eyes now. "So you might as well go
laugh it up with your friends. Poor pathetic Ginny
Weasley fell for your lines. You are sick; to think I
honestly believed you when you said you wouldn't
hurt me." Ginny said.
"Ginny, please. You don't understand I've loved you
si-"Draco began.

"Shut up!" Ginny roared. "Don't you get it? You win, I
fell for you, and you've accomplished breaking my
heart." Ginny said as she shoved her way by Draco.
Only to have him grab her arm and spin her around.

"Do you really believe I could do that to you," He

whispered, as his warm breath danced across her
face. He leaned down and his lips came crashing
down hard on hers.

Ginny froze she didn't know how to react, she didn't

know what was happening, as she knew that she
didn't want it to stop, and at the same time she
wanted him to just leave her alone. She pushed him
off hard. But he still held on to her arm.

"Ginny, I love you." Draco said as he broke away. "I

have loved you for so long, and Hermione. Hermione
heard Blaise and I talking about it, it was her idea for
me to pretend to like one of your friends. Blaise told
me to just talk to you, not to bother with all the
scheming. But I didn't listen how could you ever love
me?" Draco began talking quickly. "But then you
started dating Dean, and I had just about giving up all
hope. Then one day I came up to the tower to think,
and there you were, beautiful even when you were
broken." Draco continued, brushing some hair out of
Ginny's face. "And silly me, I went and fell for you all
over again only to have my heart break one more
time." Draco whispered softly talking a step back from
Ginny and releasing her arm. "If they already told you
then I know you don't feel the same way. But don't
you dare think for one second that I ever meant to
hurt you that was always the last thing on my mind."
Draco said.

Ginny stood there is shock just staring at him unable

to believe the words that he had said, and before she
could react he turned and walked away.
-
Ginny stood there for wait seemed like five minutes,
as she listened to his retreating footsteps. She said
nothing and she did nothing, and they seemed like the
worse five minutes of her life. Ginny slowly sat down
on the cold floor taking everything in.

"Hermione heard Blaise and I talking about it, it was

her idea for me to pretend to like one of your friends.
Blaise told me to just talk to you, not to bother with all
the scheming. But I didn't listen how could you ever
love me?"

"And you are both making this more complicated than

it has to be. Trust me I don't like seeing my best mate
like this."

"Do you really like Draco?"

"Yeah, I do, a lot."
"Then not only am I proud of you but I'm happy for
you. "
"Even if it is Draco Malfoy?"
"Especially because it is Draco Malfoy.,"

Maybe Draco was telling the truth. Would Hermione

really betray her like that? Everything seemed to
come together all at once. Blaise trying to warm her,
and save her the hurt. He was only dropping hints as
best as he could, without betraying his best mate. And
Hermione in her one way was pushing her in the right
direction. Maybe Pansy was just a jealous hag. Could
it be that Draco had been in love with her all along?

All at once every moment with Draco came to her, the

real moments. And yet even when they were
pretending it was easy to get lost.

But wasn't he the one that constantly pushed her

away? Wasn't he the only that always brought them
back to the fact that it was all an act?

"If they already told you then I know you don't feel the
same way. But don't you dare think for one second
that I ever meant to hurt you that was always the last
thing on my mind."

Ginny sat up quickly not knowing if she was making

the right decision, not knowing if she was too late, and
not knowing if she would regret this moment for the
rest of her life. But the only thing she could do as she
ran down the stairs from the astronomy tower was
hope.
-
"Ginny?" Blaise said raising an eyebrow as he took in
the small red headed girl that had come crashing into
him.

"Have you seen him?" Ginny asked frantically, trying

to catch her breath.

"He might be in the Great Hall for lunch," Blaise said

slowly.

"Lunch? How can it be lunch already?" Ginny

exclaimed.

"Well you were up there a while before we found you."

Blaise said slowly unsure of her reaction to the topic.

"And you think he would have gone to eat lunch?"

Ginny asked. She didn't think that Draco would have
wanted to see anyone after everything that had
happened, she knew she didn't.

"He was in class, after he saw you" Blaise said

looking at Ginny oddly.

"He went to class?" Ginny repeated as disbelieve

crossed her face.

Maybe he didn't love her as much as he let on. If she

really had broken his heart shouldn't he be off
somewhere by himself nursing it back together.

Blaise seemed to realise what Ginny was thinking

because he placed his large hand on her small
shoulder lightly and look straight into her eyes as he
spoke softly.

"Ginny, you don't know Draco like I do. This is how he

copes. You don't know how long he loved you. If he
let the heartbreak hit him all at once he'd be finished.
So he pretends, even if it's just for a little while. He'll
go to class, eat, and hang out with his friends like
there is nothing wrong with him. Draco was raised
that way, and it's defiantly not the best way to deal
with it, but it's what he does." Blaise said smiling
lightly. "Because I hope that you can love Draco the
way he loves you. " Blaise said as he took his hand
off of her shoulder and placed it on the small of her
back and guided her towards the doors leading to the
great hall.

Ginny stopped when she reached the entrance, the

conversation that was once flowing smoothly seemed
to die down slightly as everyone turned in their seats
to get a good look at her. Ginny began to regret her
decision as the whispers started up.

'Poor Ginny, she actually believed him.'

'I heard she was good shag.'

'She's pathetic.'

'She broke Draco's heart."

'I heard she went crazy after Dean broke her heart."

'Does she really think she's good enough for him?"

'Is she with Blaise now? What a slut."

Ginny was about to turn around and leave when

Blaise stuck out his arm to stop her. Ginny looked up
to see his face and slowly followed his gaze to the
Slytherin table straight to Draco Malfoy. If Draco had
seen them come in, he was doing a good job of
pretending he didn't as he appeared to be absorbed in
the conversation of the person beside him. Ginny
looked up at Blaise one last time as he nodded his
head and they both started walking across the hall to
where he sat. All conversation stopped as did the
whispers as Ginny approached Draco.

-
Ginny no longer felt the comfort and reassurance of
Blaise's presence, and she turned around to see that
he had stopped walking. Ginny's heart began beating
wildly and she tilted her head to the side and silently
asked him what he was doing. He nodded his head in
Draco's direction and gave her a look that explained it
all.
This was between her and Draco now. If she really
loved him she had to do this by herself, no matter how
scary it was. Ginny nodded slowly as she turned
around and closed the same gap between her and
Draco.

Neither said anything for a while, and yet Draco's

eyes were full of confusion, heartbreak and was it
hope?
Ginny couldn't help smiling, he really did love her.

"I do," Ginny whispered so softly only Draco could

hear.

"You do what?" Draco asked not bothering to whisper

at all.

"I do feel the same way, how could I not." Ginny said
as her voce got a little louder.

Draco said nothing; he just starred at her for a few

seconds searching her face for something.

"I love you," Ginny said as she starred straight into

Draco's eyes willing him to defy her.

Draco didn't waste one more second as he wrapped

his arms around her and kissed her. And this time
Ginny never wanted to kiss to end. She had never
been kissed like this before, or maybe it was just the
person doing the kissing, now that everything was out
in the open, and everything they had never said was
put into the kiss.

When they finally broke away Draco placed his

forehead against Ginny's lightly.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you
to say that." Draco said breathlessly.

"It's true, you don't. I've had to hear him complain for
years." Blaise said chuckling from behind Ginny.

Ginny slowly looked up into Draco's eyes and thought

she had never seen them look so amazing.

"Years?" Ginny smirked as she raised an eyebrow.

"Oh shut up Blaise," Draco said as he wrapped his

arms around Ginny. Now that he had her he never
wanted to let her go.

Blaise started laughing once again, and the hall

seemed to erupt into conversation and a few people
applauded and wolf whistled.

"Now Mr Malfoy, I mean to disrespect I am more than

thrilled that your love life seems to be in order. But do
forgive me I am an old man, but I am also trying to eat
my lunch," Dumbledore chuckled from the front of the
Great Hall where he sat with some of the other
teachers.
Ginny giggled into Draco's chest and he looked down
at her before he spoke.

"Do you want to get out of here?" He asked smirking.

Ginny bit her bottom lip in thought for a second before

she smacked him playfully on the chest.

"Oh course," She said.

Draco and Ginny turned around and started to leave

the Great Hall hand in h
-
"You know I really can help you," Draco said from
across the room at his desk as he watched Ginny
struggling with her essay.

Ginny looked up and gave him a death glare that

clearly told him no. She wanted to work on this by
herself. Draco shrugged his shoulders and turned
back to his transfiguration homework for the night. He
would have much rather be sitting on the bed
snuggled up close to Ginny rather than sitting across
the room from her working on his homework. But
Ginny however would have none of that, she sent him
across the room to work on his homework, and told
him he couldn't come back till she was down. Draco
had tried to protest and jumped on top of her. But
then she had threatened to go to the library to work
on her homework with Hermione and then not come
see him at all.

Draco was doodling number 4's all over the side of his
homework. Draco found it hard to focus on
homework, when he knew that Ginny sat right behind
him on his bed, and that she was finally his, and he
no longer had to hide his feelings for him. Today at
lunch had been one of the best days of his life.
Because for a short while he could forget everything
that was waiting outside for him. He could be with
Ginny and nothing else mattered. But the worst part
was that there was a whole other life waiting for him.
In just a few short days he would meet his father in
Hogsmead and his father would tell him he was to
become a death eater.

It was supposed to be for his birthday, and although

his birthday wasn't until June 5th, his father thought
that he would surprise him with the news. There once
was a time when this was all Draco had ever longed
for, he couldn't wait for the day when he could
become as important a man as his father. But things
changed, people changed. Draco saw his father for
what he really was. The way he treated others, and
also his mother. The woman who had done nothing
but try to please him her whole life. And the thought
sickened him, he loved his mother more than words
and he hated his father for everything he had done to
her. And yet standing up to him had only made things
worse for both him and her. So then Draco's slipped
into the same role as his mother, always walking on
eggshells always trying to please him. And Draco
didn't think it would ever end.

So Draco sat at his desk drawing number 4's across

the thin parchment, wondering just what he was going
to do when he saw his father in four days. Of course
he would act pleased, and very grateful. He would be
proud, even when inside it was killing him. But he
would do it. And then there was other thoughts
dancing across his mind. What about Ginny? What
would this do to her? She had to know, she had to
understand that he had to do this? Even when it was
killing him.

"Done, finally." Ginny's soft voice rang from behind

him, as he heard her shuffle around gathering books.
"How about you?" She asked.

Draco looked down at him parchment to see he had

only written one line, and the rest were a scribbled
mess of number fours.

"Yeah, I'm done to," Draco said as he closed his book

softly.

"Good, because we need to talk," Ginny said in an

excited voice.

"Yeah, we do," Draco sighed as he turned around to

face the girl her, his voice coming out in barley a
whisper.
-
"So I was thinking," Ginny said, as she repositioned
herself on the bed so that Draco could sit beside her.
"That since we are actually dating, that we should go
to hogsmead together, it's in just four days," Ginny
said happily. "And well, there's the small matter of
Harry." Ginny said softly as she tuned to look at
Draco.

Draco held his breath and tensed up. In four days he

would have to see his father, and now Ginny was
going to bring up her love for Potter?

"Yes?" Draco asked slowly.

"Well I did like him, and he still means a lot to mean.

But he's like a brother now, that's all. And I know both
you and Ron don't get along, but I was hoping you'd
make an effort to at least be civil to both Ron and
Harry, as they really are both family." Ginny said
giving Draco a strained smile.

Draco noticed how nervous Ginny was bringing this

up, and how nervous he had been thinking she was
about to discuss something different so all he could
do was laugh.

"I was being serious." Ginny said frowning.

"Oh, it's only because I thought you were going to

announce your love for Potter, not tell me to play nice
with him and your brother." Draco chuckled as he
pulled Ginny closer to him. "And I'll try, for you." Draco
said kissing her on the forehead.

"Good, thank you." Ginny said with a smile. "So what

about Hogsmead?" Ginny asked looking up to meet
his eyes once more.

"Yeah, of course I'll go Gin." Draco said with a

strained smile.

"Okay, good." Ginny said as she hopped off the bed,

but I promised Hermione that we could practice for
charms together so I have to go." Ginny said with a
smirk as she backed towards the door.

"What? So you made me do my own homework, and

waist time with you, and you were going to see her
anyways." Draco said is mock horror.

"Yeah, well I'll be back later, when we're done." Ginny

said with a smirk as she ran out of the doo, with
Draco chasing her.

Both Draco and Ginny were running through the hall

in the head's private room, but they both stopped
suddenly at the sight of a furious Hermione and a
smug looking Blaise.

Hermione stood looking at Blaise with her arms

crossed, and her normally bushy brown hair twice its
normal size.

"Well that's hardly my fault now is it," Hermione said.

"Trust me darling, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't."

Blaise said with a smirk.

"I really can't handle this, or you right now." Hermione

snapped as she turned and saw both Draco and
Ginny standing their starring at them.

"Good Ginny, you're here, ready to go?" Hermione

asked as both her face and posture relaxed a little.

"Yeah, let's go." Ginny said throwing a confused look

at Draco.

Hermione and Ginny both left through the portrait hole

leaving Draco and Blaise alone.

"What was that about mate?" Draco said as he

walked over to sit in a chair by the fire.

"I'm really not sure it's hard to tell with girls." Blaise
said with a sigh as he sat down in an arm chair across
from Draco.

Draco raised his eyebrows, but said nothing.

"So four more days mate, do you know what you're

going to do?" Blaise asked as the mood changed to
serious instantly.

"Take the mark, and make everyone happy." Draco

sighed as he looked up to look at Blaise.

"Yeah your pop would like that, and what about

Ginny?" Blaise asked.

Draco didn't say anything, both him and Blaise had

been friends since they were little, the only person
who knew Draco better than Blaise was his mother.
And they both knew how much Draco didn't want to
take the mark, they were all in the same position. Yet
his mother had taken it to protect herself, and Blaise
was going to do the same. But it was easier for Blaise
to play along than it was for Draco. Both of Blaise's
parents were very proud supporters of Voldemort's, if
he messed it up it was only his own life at stake.
Draco had to worry about his mother as well as
himself.

"I really don't know," Draco sighed. He hadn't thought

about the effect all of this would have on Ginny,
because he never really imagined he would ever be
with Ginny.

"Why don't you just tell her?" Blaise said, making it

seem like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Why? So that she can hate me?" Draco asked

looking at Blaise with disgust.
"Well she'd hate you if you don't tell her," Blaise
replied. "Explain it to her, make her understand why
you have to do it." Blaise added.

"So I can ruin her life by making her worry about me

constantly?" Draco sighed standing up and pacing.
"Well then what are you going to do?" Blaise asked.

"I don't know, I could always break up with her? As

much as it would kill me it would be better for her
thinking I just don't want her, it would be easier for her
to get over me." Draco added.

"Do you really think that would be better?" Blaise

asked raising his voice. Had his friend really gone
mad?

"Yeah, I can say hey Ginny I never loved you it was

all a joke," Draco said laughing, even though it was
far from funny. He just didn't know what to do.

"Um" came a voice from behind the two boys, and

they both whipped around to see both Hermione and
Ginny standing at the portrait whole.

Hermione was the one that spoke to get their

attention and she stepped in front of Ginny almost as
if she could block what Draco had just said.

"We came because Ginny forgot her wand." Hermione

said looking from Draco to Blaise and back again.

"Oh," Draco added lamely as he looked at Ginny, but

he couldn't read her face, her expression was blank.

"Well whatever you do mate, think of it quick." Blaise

said as he stood up from the chair and dusted the
invisible dirt of off his robes. " But like I've been saying
from the beginning, no more games just tell her."
Blaise said as he walked over to Draco and thumped
him on the back. "Come on Granger, I need your help
scratching an itch." Blaise said winking at Hermione
making her blush despite the fact she was trying to
act peeved.

"You are disgusting," She added as she followed him

out the door.
"What? I can't reach the middle of my back." Blaise
said with a laugh as they disappeared out the door.

Both Draco and Ginny stood their for a while just

starring at each other, before Draco sat down and
motioned for Ginny to sit beside him on the couch.

Draco wasted no time in telling Ginny everything, as

he stood up and paced around the room. He told her
things he thought he'd never be able to tell anyone
but Blaise. He told her all his feeling, how scared he
was, how he was trying to hold it together, how
worried he was. And through it all he told her how
much he loved her.

And when he was done he stood facing the fire, and

with his back towards her. Scared of hat he would find
in her eyes, and scared of what would no longer be
there. So instead Draco watched the flames dancing
around in the fire, as if they didn't have a care in the
world. Then he felt Ginny's hand gently on his arm
and he slowly turned around to face her.
Suddenly her lips came crashing down on his, and he
didn't have time to think, all he had time for was her.
And as their tongues battled for dominance all
thoughts of Voldemort's, his father, becoming a death
eater, and his poor mother were pushed aside. The
only thought that remained, was the one Draco was
sure would never go way.

How much he loved Ginny.

It was so easy for Draco to forget that in just four days

he would receive some of the worst news of his life,
and have to act like it was the best thing that ever
happened to him.

In just three days ….

In just two days…

Finally the day Draco had found so easy to push
aside when Ginny was around was here. And when
Draco woke up alone, it was hard to think of anything
else.

If Draco and Ginny would have had it their way they

never would have left each other's side. But seeing as
Hermione was head Girl she wouldn't let Ginny spend
the night even if she and Draco did nothing. So
instead Ginny slept in the guest room in the Head
dorm, a guest room that Draco was almost sure, had
never been there before. A guest room that Hermione
kept constant watch on, to make sure they didn't
sneak around in the middle of the night. Hermione in
Draco's eyes was being extremely unfair.

And yet thinking about this brought a small smile to

his lips at the thought of going on his first date with
Ginny today. A date that was sure to raise his spirits
after the meeting with his father. Draco rolled out of
bed and hopped into the shower, eager to see Ginny
and Blaise before meeting his father.

When Draco was dressed he slipped out into the

common room expecting Hermione and Ginny to be
sitting on the couch. But instead found Hermione and
Harry arguing.

"You don't even see what you're turning her into!"

Harry yelled, making Hermione cringe.
"No, you don't understand Harry. You can't play the
hero when no one needs saving!" Hermione yelled
back tears in her eyes.

"How can you say that? Ron and I have been your
best friends for a long time. And you repay him by
turning his sister into the school tramp!" Harry yelled.

Draco froze in his spot, as if Potter thought he knew

anything about Ginny.

"Best friends?" Hermione asked slowly. "What Ginny

does with Draco is none of your business, and the
only ones who have anything bad to say about her
and Draco are you and Ron. Everyone else put their
differences aside to see how much they really care for
each other." Hermione said turning away. She
stopped and turned back to face him, her face
perfectly blank. "And it's good to know that the last
month only meant we were best friends. I guess you
snogg Ron too then." Hermione said as she turned to
leave.

"I didn't just mean Draco, I meant her and Blaise

sneaking off this morning on my way to see you."
Harry started, and then stopped realising what
Hermione had just said. His face crumbled slowly as
he took a step towards her and reached out to her.
"Hermione, I'm sorry. I didn't mean that." He started.
But Hermione kept walking and stopped when she
saw Draco standing there.

"What do you mean saw her sneaking out with

Bliase?" Draco asked slowly. Looking at Hermione for
an explanation.

Hermione unlike Harry, had the decency to look

embarrassed and mumbled something that made
Harry snort.

"Why? What's wrong Malfoy, upset that you friend is

using your play toy during your time slot? Weren't
through with her yet?" Harry said smirking.

"Shut up Potter!" Draco said pulling out his wand. "Are

you really stupider than you look? Do think that I
would treat someone like Ginny like that!" Draco
yelled. "I love her," He whispered quietly, shaking his
head, remember the promise he made to Ginny about
Harry and her family, so instead her pocketed his
wand and turned to Hermione.

"She figured you'd want to meet with your father

alone." Hermione said trying to read his face for a
reaction. "She told me to tell you that she and Blaise
would meet you later." Hermione added, looking at
the ground.

Draco nodded and walked out through the portrait

whole, leaving Hermione and Harry to work out their
problems.
-
Draco walked to the three broom sticks alone, and got
a lot of suspicious looks from passersby. Probably
gossipers that we're going off to tell all of Hogwarts
that Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley had broken up.
Had they? Draco wondered.

He and Ginny had already decided that they would

walk to Hogsmeade together. And then he would
come get her when he was done with his father. But
Harry's words kept coming back to him.

'her and Blaise sneaking off this morning'

Draco pushed the thought from his mind. He loved

Ginny, and she loved him. She would never do
anything with Blaise. And Blaise was his best mate,
he knew what Ginny meant to him, and he knew how
much he loved Ginny.

Draco sighed as he pushed open the door to the three

broom sticks, and nodded to Madam Rosmerta, as he
passed her and continued on, into one of the private
rooms at the back. Draco knocked once and then
entered. He stopped when he saw his father sitting at
the table. But he didn't stop because his father had
shown up. He had stopped with shock at the two
people who were sitting with him.

Blaise gave Draco a look that said he really had no

clue what was going on, he was just along for the
ride.

However it wasn't Blaise that Draco was focusing on.

It was Ginny.

"Hello Draco," Lucius said as he gestured to the seat

across from him.

Draco slowly walked across the room and sat down

looking at Ginny, with masked confusion.

Ginny smirked as if she knew exactly what was going

through his mind.

"Now Draco, I'm disappointed in you. From what I

heard from Mr Zambini, and young Ginevra, you've
been holding back on me. I'm sure you're mother and
I would have loved to meet your girlfriend." He said
smiling.

Draco said nothing just sat in his chair in confusion,

he really had no idea what was going on.

"Well since you seemed to have forgotten how to

speak dear boy, I should tell you the excellent news.
You've been invited to become a death eater." Lucius
paused taking in Draco's small smile. "And Ginny, has
asked to join you." Lucius said smirking more broadly.
