Narutos Socialization Essay

A powerful fox known as the Nine Tails attacks the ninja village Konoha. In response,
the leader of Konoha, the Fourth Hokage, seals the fox inside his newborn son Naruto Uzumaki
at the cost of his life (Vankadaru, 2017). Naruto is a Japanese manga and anime series written
and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It narrates the story of Uzumaki Naruto, an adolescent
ninja who searches for an acceptance and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the greatest ninja.
Naruto is picked to be an example story to explain and analyze the process of socialization a
character has faced. The way Naruto adopted in Narutos family, shinobi, a ninja science
education, his belief, and media in the story with each socialization processes, make Naruto
gaining membership, having his own individuality, and being who he is.

Naruto without family socializes Naruto in different ways. Naruto parents passed away
since he was born and the story of Narutos family is kept in secret and untold, so he does not
know anything about who father and mother are. Firstly, there is no one in family for Naruto to
observe like general family. Most thing he learns are from the teachers and friends. In ninja
world, friends are worth as the family and they spend most of the day with their team. Naruto,
Sasuke, Sakura, and teacher Kakashi spend time practicing and doing mission together as if they
are a part of each other family. Second, Naruto lives alone since he was young and Naruto
understands how it feels to be lonely. That is why he is always there for those people who needs
him even if they are the enemy. Luckily, Naruto has more chance to meet new people such as the
Third Hokage and many other great ninjas from Kurama, nine tails beast inside Narutos body, as
destined by his parents. However, Naruto was initially hated by the villagers, from the beast
inside Naruto that used to destroy the village, that make Naruto even feels lonelier. And the worst
thing is that, he loses family. That make Naruto does not want to lose his friends. Even though
Naruto loses his family, he still gets the membership of his family. There are father, mother, and
son and the spirits would always be in Narutos soul. From died parents, this made him being
independent as a self-adopted child. Naruto grew up without family, the process of observation,
shaping, reward, and punishment make Naruto really care about others feeling.

Ninja school, peers, and the learning processes socialize Naruto to be a great ninja. Once
Naruto was in ninja school, he was the most stupid student in class. He was very naughty
because he was lonely and he wanted some attention. Naruto like to play around and mess in the
village. In class, Naruto see other students learn to use jutsu, he tries to do the same. Even though
he is stupid, he has tried to be ninja and even as great as the Hokage. In the team, including
Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura; they work as a team to accomplish the task or mission. This creates
a significant bond. When they complete the mission, they get the reward together. It also shows
that, together they are strong. Based on a scene in the forbidden forest, they fight together and
support each other that they could beat Orochimaru, and many other enemy in another situation.
Or when the team cannot finish the mission, they all are punished together such as no lunch.
What Naruto learned is that, alone is weak. His own skill is not enough to beat a strong enemy.

Luckily, Narutos friends always come on time to save him. Naruto is a part of ninja school,
particularly Team Seven. The characteristics of Naruto such as innocent, bravery, and humor. He
also has a special ability of wind jutsu. School teaches Naruto to see the importance of
teamwork.

The society and Narutos experiences create a strong belief that make Naruto being
strong. In Narutos world, there are the creatures that could use ninjutsu. Everyone include
Naruto believe in Shinobi or simply ninja science. Naruto has a dream to become a Hokage so
that he would be respected and he would make a peaceful world and clear all the hatred. He
observe the Fourth Hokage get all the love from villagers who sacrificed his life for the village.
Next, Narutos world shaped everyone to believe that they need to be ninja. Narutos experience,
that says together are strong, make Naruto never leave someone behind, even the enemy
because he also understand the situation they are facing. Naruto adapt this idea to everything he
does. This made him to be able to accomplish many difficult jutsu such as Rasengan and Sage
Mode, or even turning bad people back to be good. Narutos personality and thoughts give him
an opportunity to do more jutsu, then he was finally respected by mates. But before he turns into
this success, he was weak comparing to the forever rival; Sasuke. So, Naruto did not attract as
much girls as Sasuke. This make Naruto tries very hard to be stronger, especially for Sakura to
like him back. Naruto is being a part of Shinobi which is Ninja worlds belief. When Naruto
could do ninjutsu, he is a ninja; a Shinobi follower. Yet, he has a signature jutsu which is passed
through the genotype and some that Naruto has created. This make Naruto different from others.
Also, Naruto has a unique ninja style. I never go back on my words that's my ninja way, which
is never give up and never leave someone behind. Narutos belief made him being a ninja that is
patient and diligent.

Media in the story socializes Naruto in many ways. Most media in the story are textbook
or scripture about ninjutsu and ninja legends. And some kind of news in the form of oral telling
and paper message, delivered by courier-nin, about a big event that is happening, mostly about
war and villain. Naruto is like general people, when he sees something better; he wants to be like
that. An example of Akatsuki, the organization that has a lot of strong people who plan to rule the
world, and Naruto at first could not compete with them at all. The information each village
interspersed create nationalism. It make Naruto being a strong weapon for the allies because of
the Tail Beast inside him. Furthermore, media sometimes comes in a form of quests. Naruto and
teammates get reward for doing that. When they complete the task, they are accepted by the
society such as a mission that they need help the villager to chase the boar away and it is for
villagers peace. But sometimes, they cannot finish the task but they learn. Such as, collecting the
herb to make portions prepared for a war. However, some other villagers were competing there,
so they teach them to share and that is the lesson they get. The cons of media is usually when
Naruto loses the fight, not only Naruto is terrified but when the story spread around the village; it
terrifies all the villagers. Naruto is a resident in the village and is delivered by the same news
with other people in the village. They hear the same thing and the reaction might be similar. This

shows that Naruto is a member of this village. But Naruto is different by the part he turns all the
news into the way that would improve himself. It challenges him and even make him stronger.
Media comes in many form and it teaches Naruto and making Naruto even better.

In conclusion, the socialization agents promote Naruto to be great and strong. Naruto
lives without father and mother and it makes Naruto understand and never want anyone to be
lonely. The school teaches Naruto about the importance of friends. Narutos belief make him
strong. And also the media influenced Narutos thoughts to like challenging stuffs. All together
make him great and strong. The information is supported by the story scenes and my analysis in
this essay. Naruto is an example of the character that is socialized by each agent in the story. It
can be an evidence to support that a tough childhood make a person grow up to be success.
