The Real Cure Lies Within

There are numerous ailments which humankind has been facing. If one’s immediate ailment
is due to an attack of bacterial or some other infection, one could consider himself/ herself relatively
lucky, since such attacks can be countered by one of the numerous modern drugs.

However, there exist a large number of maladies which surface for no apparent reason. These
maladies have their seeds in the deep-rooted tendencies of the mind.

The holistic wisdom of our ancient Rishis saw many such maladies to be “Karmaj-Vyadhi”,
meaning, maladies attributable to one’s Karma, which is in fact, the working of the Law of Cause
and Effect applicable to the desire-bound, sense-driven bundles of living energy that all animate
creatures are.

Now that modern science has concluded that matter and energy are inter-convertible, we can,
in our minds accept that the entire creation, much of which is outside the narrow band-widths of our
five physical senses of perception, is but a magnificent and constantly changing manifestation of a
single “mother energy” , which we say is Prana.

All of us are different modifications of this very Maha-Prana. Different only to the extent of
the burden of vasanas or desires genetically accumulated during the soul’s journey comprising of a
series of physical incarnations.

This burden keeps on increasing due to imperfect understanding of the Doctrine of Karma.
Even if understood, the force of the samskaras prevents one from living this doctrine.

The only way towards perfection is to try and get over the tendencies of the mind. This is
easier said than done as “trying” means applying the very mind whose state is to be addressed. The
only way then would be to identify some aspect of ourselves that is superior to the mind aspect and
then coax the mind to surrender to this “higher-up”.

This superior aspect is our very own Prana-Shakti. Wasn’t it this very aspect that shaped our
mind and body in the womb? Would this have been possible without divine higher intelligence?

At birth, the work of this divinely intelligent Prana-Shakti is over and ordinarily one is left
with physically working out one’s past karma. Soon however, vasanas rule the roost, causing
ultimately disease, pain and sorrow, however materially well-placed may one be.

The only way out is to re-establish the superiority of Prana-Shakti in the microcosm that man
is. Breathing is the only aspect of this Shakti which mind fortunately is able to witness.

So all-powerful is this Prana-Shakti that if the mind is just allowed to follow the breath, it
soon merges with or surrenders to this Shakti.

Once this happens, in the natural course of this Divine Shakti from the unmanifest to the
manifest form that we all are and then back again to the unmanifest, the last leg of the journey gets
activated and since this Shakti has to work Her way through our bodily form, the physical, mental
and emotional imperfections get removed through the vehicle of various autonomous Yoga-Kriyas
that are appropriate for a particular individual and which effectively cause the cauterization our
innumerable samskaras.

One may set out on this path by the instrumentality of the three simple steps given below:
1. Sit in any comfortable position. Relax the body to the maximum, as if it is not there.
2. Close the eyes with serene devotion to Prana Shakti. A small wave-like sensation
may immediately be felt rising along the backbone.
3. Allow the mind to mutely witness the breathing that AUTOMATICALLY happens.
Continue this mute witnessing for three minutes or more.

Benefits of daily practice as outlined above are:

* Relief from all kinds of stress *

* Concentration and balance of mind *
* Doing daily work with better judgment *
* Experience of Calmness which was denied to you *
* Keenness for Higher Spiritual Awakening *

Medicinal drugs do appear to work wonderfully and could make one feel cured and hence even
euphoric, but sometimes the discriminating person knows that such drugs are only deceiving one’s
mind and the real cure lies elsewhere, within.

When one says that the “body repairs” it is due to the correct flow of one’s own Prana-Chaitanya to
the affected parts. This is what happens by practicing the easy Yoga of merging the mind with the
Prana, (through its proxy, the breath) also known as Siddhayoga or Mahayoga.
