To whom it may concern:

My name is Jamahl Peake and I am proud product of H.I.S.D. As such, I want to do everything I can to provide
students in our great district the same educational opportunities I received. And while I have enjoyed almost
every minute of my time in the classroom, I believe I can have a greater impact working with a larger sample of
scholars. Working as a Teacher Development Specialist or a campus based Teacher Specialist will give me the
platform to have a more direct impact on the day to day instructional experiences of the students I would be
serving. I have spent the past 3 years working as a Social Studies teacher but my previous professional
experiences include material science manufacturing (measurement, testing, maintenance, specification
monitoring) and product development. The experience I attained working in the field of material science
coupled with my psychology studies has given me the unique ability to adapt to the various technical aspects
of teaching (TEKS, various laws, H.I.S.D. board police) while still being able to meet the very human needs
of the learning community at Key Middle School. As most in the district are aware, the neighborhood that Key
serves (Kashmere Gardens) is full of challenges but I (with the help of wonderful colleagues and administrative
support) have thrived. It is my sincere hope that I will have the opportunity to take my love of learning and
continued pursuit of knowledge and my passion for teaching and helping teachers to a role that will allow me to
continue these pursuits on a larger scale. If you have any questions or would like to discuss available
opportunities further, do not hesitate to email or call at your convenience.

Sincerely,

Jamahl Peake
