Operating Principle of a Weigh Feeder

In Short
The material flows from the hopper onto the moving
belt, and over the weigh bridge
The material on the belt exerts a load on the weigh
bridge (limited by two idlers)
The output signals of the weigh bridge and the belt
speed is converted into a flow and compared to a
preset value
Through a feedback loop to the motor drive of the belt,
the speed is adjusted to achieve the desired flow

Note: Changes in its thickness and shape may reveal the
presence of problems in the material flow up-line from the
belt
