Classroom Vision 1st Day of School

OVERVIEW
Students will participate in forming a class mission statement, a set of guidelines to follow as a class,
and setting core values to provide the best classroom experience for everyone.
TEACHER GUIDE
OBJEC TIVES Students will understand the
purpose of the activity, we will
discuss the aspect of respect and
how it should look in the
classroom setting.
INFORMATION Students will have time to think
about what they would like to get
out of the classroom experience,
they may discuss with a neighbor
if they would like.
AC TIVITY Students will pass the poster
around and write their ideas down,
they are adding to their class
mantra.
SUMMARY Together we will discuss the
importance of a shared classroom,
we will review our poster and
agree to follow the shared vision.

STUDENT GUIDE
Think about what you want out of
this class, come up with one
guideline that is a must for you in
a classroom atmosphere, think
about one core value that you live
by.
You may talk with a neighbor if
you are stuck coming up with any
of the three points.
Write down you idea if it has not
been replicated on the poster, one
idea at a time until we all have
had a chance to get all our ideas
down.
You may agree or disagree with
the vision/purpose of the
classroom, if you disagree you
must give a reason, a suggestion
to improve, it must be passed by
the entire class. If we all agree,
we pass the class vision/purpose
and follow for the year.
