IV. Project Rationale

The UST Red Cross Youth Council Arts and Letters Unit will be conducting basic
disaster management training. Due to the increasing number of victims and casualties during
calamities and unwanted disasters, we deem it necessary to gather the Thomasians but mainly
the Arts and Letters students to give them a heads up of how massive the destruction these
disasters can bring and equip them with the right skills and information that will come in handy
in times of crisis. With this regard, the Vice President for Operations along with the committee
heads for Crisis and Disaster Management and Blood Services propose to hold a bloodletting
activity within the university.
