Professional Development Plan
(What do YOU need to work on inorder to grow professionally?)
I want to organize my time and let the student be busy with activity all the time to encourage them to think
and improve their speaking and writing. Also, I want to work in my transition such as a song for circle time
and when they move from activity to another. Also, I want to control the classroom by using the rewarding
system.

1. Choose and describe an aspect from a teaching competency that you need to work on (Goal)
I want to work on my activities how can I chose an activity for different level and let all students in
the class do the 3 activity in during 20 minutes.

2. Describe what you will do to help achieve your goal (Strategies Used)
I learn from my MST to sit with one group and let each group do a different activity. Then, when I
finish with my group I let them switch between two groups so during 20 min all group will do 3
activities.

3. Describe how you can tell if youre achieving your goal (Evidence)
I think I will achieve my goal because I will give each student chance to work in 3 activities during 20
min, so these help the student to identify the letter and the sound of the letter. Also, they will learn
words start with this letter.

Small letter

Introduction (warmer activity + teacher active engagement)

First, I put a song about (make a circle big, big, small, small) to let them sit in a circle and be quiet.
Then, I will give the students the new units, and its about the (weather and sky), and I will teach
them the new vocabulary coming under these units such as rainy, cloudy, hot and cold. Then, I will
review with them by asking them about the sound of the letter they take it before. Moreover, I will
review with them the sight words and chose the student to read the word from PowerPoint. Also, I
will review with them by putting ABC song. This song the MOE gives the teacher, and they use it
in all kindergarten in the UAE. This song develops the letter knowledge for students, and the
children recognize the shapes of letter and sound of these letter by using the sentence for each
letter. Then I will review with them the letter they took it before (R), so I will ask them about the
sound of the letter and how they write it. Then, I will show them the shape of the new letter(H) and
how they can write it correctly in the capital and small. Also, I will teach them the sound of the

(H) on the board, and I will let each student write the letter on the own board and show me when
they finish.
Independent Experience (small group activity 1) (High)

This activity is for high level, and each student have two cards (hat and horse), and I give them the
letter so you should for them to read the sentence and build up the red word. For example, you
should for them to count the letter in a hat and searching about the letters (h, a, t) between the
letters in the box.

Independent Experience (small group activity 2) (medium)

This activity for the medium level so I give the children clay and you should for them to make a
letter from clay and put it in the letters, so they will build up the word using clay then I will let
them write the words using a marker.

Independent Experience (small group activity 3) (low)

This activity for low level, I will let them identify the letter (h)
and create a house from the letter using shapes (rectangle and
triangle) so, they learn letter h and word start with letter h.

Independent Experience (small group activity 4)

I will let these group design the letter h using the small object.

At the end of the lesson, I will review with the students and let them think about the word start with

Assessment

I will assess their level from the activity if they do the activity correctly. Also, I will assess their learning by
asking each one what is this letter and the sound of the letter. Moreover, I will use reward system by giving
the students who are polite or active with me candy or sticker.

Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing?
I taught an English lesson and specific letter h, so I want to teach them how they write the letter
and sound of this letter.

Who is the lesson for?
The lesson for KG2 /1
Where did the lesson take place?
The lesson take place in the classroom in the carpet and table when I make group time.
What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?
In this lesson, I worked hard to improve my activities so all my activities hand-on and eliminated
so, MST and MCT like it because the students learn from it. And it develops the student's skills
such emotional, cognitive and physical.
What did the students do?
The students try to solve the activity, and I let all the students do 3 activities during 20 min, so
they learn letter h, and word starts with letter h (horse) and they how to build up horse word.

Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
Yes, the student responded to the way I did when I explain the lesson in the carpet and in closing
time I take them to the carpet again to talk about their activity that they did it in grouping time.
So, I think the students develop their skills such as speaking and listening.
How well did your teaching relate to the students prior understanding?
Its related to students prior knowledge because I ask the students about the letter they took it
before. And I let call some students to write the letter( R, U) on the board.
How well did you engage the students?
I engage the students well by review with the name of the unit and the vocabulary includes in this
unit such as rainy, cloudy, sunny, and snowy. And I present to the Power Point to engage them.

Explain the nature of the experience from the students perspective
The students like the way I teach them because I prepare to them hands-on activities and they like
clay and order the letter to make a word house. And I make all my activity eliminated, so they
like the way I did.
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?
Yes, because the students in one activity I let them identify the letter of word horse and design it
with clay, and then I switch them with another group, so I let them build up the word horse. So,
they learn in a different way.

Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
In the future, I will bring each student their board to assess their understanding of letter and to
observe them if they know how to write it or not.
What are the implications for your professional practice?
To be more professional, you should for me to document all students work and put in their
portfolio but its no time, so I let them take it to their home.
