M.G.G. : 1. I can take a full set of vital signs and recognize a strange number within my patient's vital signs, that could put them in risk. Through the
correct method of taking vital signs, I can recognize and set my nursing priorities for my patient. It also helps me in giving medications such
antihypertensive meds, antipyretic meds, etc., without putting my patient at risk for adverse effects.
2. Communication and Rapport. I am able to communicate with my patient and walk them through in any procedure or assessment that I am doing. In
this case, I am involving them in their care, actually asking for consent and building trust and relationship with my patient making them more
cooperative and attentive to their regimen. In addition to that, I also make sure that whatever assessment, procedure or results that I am doing or
getting is that I will be reporting it to my primary nurse. In this case, I am building relationship with them and not overpowering them over the patient's
care.
M.G.G. : 1. I will continue to be familiar with medications that are usually used and administered on patients. With that said, I will be bale to recognize
the do's and dont's for each medications. I will also be able to know what lab values to be aware of before administering a medication.
2. Ausculation. I haven't had a patient who had any adventitious sound or abnormal heart sounds that I will be able to listen to. I want to continue to
develop this skill because it would be really helpful if when doing a head to toe assessment.
3. Nursing priorities. I want to develop the skill that will help me prioritize what to assess for in my client regarding their diagnosis. As of now, we are
always doing a head to toe assessment for our clients to get used to it but in most cases we have to do a specify and prioritize a specific system
M.G.G. : 1. I can strengthen my auscultation skill I want to develop by watch video skills from Evolve. Listening to youtube videos for sounds (heart
and breathing). I can also auscultate my family members for heart and breathing sound and recognize if there are any abnormal sounds and lastly, I
will try to look for a patient that have wheezing, crackles, etc., that I could listen to, to be familiar with the sound.
2. Read our theory notes that would help me figure out what to prioritize based on the diagnosis of my patient. Moreover, I will always check my
patient's Kardex for any nurses' charts that are relevant about her diagnosis.
3. Regarding with the medications, I will review the notes from pharmacology class, and would look in my medication research that I went through
