A Life Worth Fighting For

Abortion is the termination of human pregnancy and God says that life begins at

conception. By aborting the child, they are killing God's creation. If a baby is conceived, God put

them on this Earth because he has a plan for each one of them. It is wrong to abort because it

deprives the child from their future. Abortion is violating the Golden Rule, disintegrates human

life, and brings deep regret.

In 1973, The Supreme Court case of Roe vs. Wade made the state abortion laws

unconstitutional. By doing this, any legislative interference in the first trimester of pregnancy

was taken out. Before this was ruled, about 500,000 illegal abortions were happening each year.

The Roman Catholic church opposed the Supreme Court case. In the United States, over one

million babies were bring aborted in 1975. American statistics show that ninety three percent of

all abortions happen because the women doesn't want their child. Pro-Choice women will argue

that the baby's health will depend on the mothers health. If the mother isn't in the right condition,

the baby cannot exist on their own therefore, she has the right to abort. Pro-Choice women will

also argue that tax payers money are used to help the less fortunate women access to the same

medical grants as rich women. Pro-life women argues that many Americans who pay taxes are

against abortion, so it is morally wrong to use tax money to fund abortions. Today, around

1,500,000 abortions occur every year.

Pro Choice people believe that the woman has the choice of whether to have a baby or

not. If she is too young or isn't ready, she believes terminating the pregnancy is the best choice

because she wouldn't want to bring a baby into the world that she can't take care of. Most people

on this side believe that the baby isn't a person until either later in the pregnancy or the day of

birth. Pro Life are those who believe that a baby is a baby from the day the sperm meets the egg.

They also believe terminating the pregnancy from the first day is murder. It prevents conception

because they are stopping a child from being born. Abortion encourages sin because every time a

woman kills her child, she helps society conform to be more open about the topic. Therefore, she

is promoting it and encourages others to do the same. By doing this, it will lead to other sins such

as adultery and murder which are violations of the Ten Commandments. If a woman cannot take

care of her child given the circumstances, she can resort to putting them up for adoption so that

the child will continue God's plan.

Once a woman has been involved in an abortion, they are affected on a spiritual level,

not just emotionally. This brings majority of women in deep regret and they would turn to God to

seek comfort and advice. Abortion brings heartache and affects the mind because it deals with

life and death. In the case of a rape, some may argue that the victim who is pregnant, can later

suffer from psychological harm by keeping the baby because it's a constant reminder of what

happened. Women can chose what happens to their bodies, but rape isn't one of their choices.

The baby shouldn't be punished for their parents mistakes. The rapist isn't only affecting the

mother, but the child as well. A child should have a life just like everyone else because it is a gift

from God. On the contrary, if a woman cannot handle taking care of the baby due to her

circumstances, she can put them up for adoption. By doing this, the baby would be able to live

and continue God's plan. There are a lot of good hearted people who would love to take in a

precious baby as their own.

Abortion violates the Ten Commandments and it is a mortal sin. The first commandment

states that "I am the Lord thy God, thou shall have no other gods before me." By aborting a fetus,

it blatantly puts other gods before him. The second commandment states, "Thou shall not make

unto thee any graven image." Mothers who are spiritually hurt from abortion, can fall into an

illusion of holding on to what could have been and it will be on their mind all the time. The third

commandment states that "Thou shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain." By killing

innocent children of God, abortion interprets His name in murderous vain. The fourth

commandment says, "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." Abortion is restless and it

doesn't keep any day holy. The fifth commandment is to "Honor thy father and mother." There is

no greater dishonor than parents who encourage their daughter to have an abortion. This will kill

their family legacy. According to the Bible, everyone is a child of God and a blessing to parents

and grandparents. By aborting a child, it takes away the parents honor.

The sixth commandment says, "Thou shall not kill." Abortion is violating the Golden

Rule because it is putting an end to God's work. It takes away the life of an innocent child

because abortion stops a beating heart. The seventh commandment states that "Thou shall not

commit adultery." If a woman is responsible to have sex, she should be responsible for her baby

and the consequences that follow. The eighth commandment says, "Thou shall not steal." Killing

a fetus' life steals so many lives daily and ends God's plan for them. The ninth commandment is

"Thou shall not bear false witness." Death is based on a lot of lies. For example, some doctors

would convince a mother that "it" is just a tissue. Therefore, the mother is convinced that she

won't suffer physical or emotional pain if she plans to go through with it while it's still early. This

has been scientifically disproven, and God would not want anyone to take away the lives of

innocent children. Lastly, the tenth commandment is "You shall not covet." Abortion is violating

this commandment because coveting teaches that it is better to take than to receive. On the

contrary, the Bible teaches people that it is better to give than to receive. When a mother commits

abortion, it violates each of the Ten Commandments.

By aborting a pregnancy, the child's future will never occur. They could have become

doctors who could cure cancer or the next future Olympian. They could have been a big

influence on the people around them and make their mark on society. Abortion destroys the work

of God. The children are deprived from God's plan, and the impact they could've had on the

people around them are destroyed as well. It also devalues and disintegrates human life because

God put his greatest effort in creating each one of us. It is natural to conceive a child, but it is not

natural to kill an unborn child. This shows lack of natural affection and Catholics view it as a sin.

Everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for each one of us, so it is morally wrong to

deprive anyone in following his path.
