VII. PROJECT RATIONALE

1. Concern
The grade 6 teacher claims that it is her first time to teach circulatory system thus, she
needs our help since we are all student nurses. The other faculty members asked our help
to reiterate to the students of all grade levels the importance of proper hygiene. Also, to
spread the word of God, the faculty allowed us to conduct catechism to grade 2 students.
2. Mandate Law
According to Republic Act 232, otherwise known as Education Act of 1982, the state shall
promote right to every individual to relevant quality education, regardless of age, sex,
gender, economic, physical, and mental conditions, racial or ethnic origin, or other
affiliation. The state is also mandated to promote quality education while maintaining
enjoyment of learning. Because of this mandate, we organized a teaching activity wherein
we can be of aid to the teachers in giving students the knowledge necessary for their
development, while allowing them for recreational activities through fun games.
3. Principle
We believe that it is our responsibility as students who have enough knowledge on a
particular subject to share this knowledge. Hence, we agreed to teach about Science
subject and hygiene. We also believe that before we are nurses, we are first Christians.
This implies then that we also have the responsibility to help in molding virtues and values
among these children by means of school catechism. We deemed that the school
catechism that we conducted would somehow compensate for the lack of Religion subject
in public schools such as the Tabora Elementary School.
4. Statement of the impact of the project to the beneficiaries.
The things that imparted to the students of the Tabora Elementary School in Science will
give them additional knowledge about the normal physiology of their body, specifically of
their heart. Because of this, they would be able to better appreciate their body and take

care of it. As student nurses who specialize in this kinds of topics, it was also a big for the
teacher in making the students better understand the topic. Our teaching about health,
particularly about hygiene was also important as this is crucial to the development and
general well-being of the elementary students. And lastly, we benefited the students by
helping them develop positive values from the bible. This is values are crucial as they will
help mold these children into Christians someday.
VIII. GENERAL OUTCOME

After teaching two hundred students for two days with 8 hours per day during regular class
days, the students will be able to learn and verbalize understanding regarding the topics
assigned to their respective grade levels (circulatory system and hygiene-grade 6; hygiene-
grades 5 and 4; parable and hygiene-grades 2 and 3).
IX. SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

During the current term, the apostolate should be able to:
1. To inform and coordinate properly with the chosen institution of school catechism.
2. To introduce self and to give a brief overview of the topic to the students
3. To impart knowledge about the three topics (Circulatory System, Hygiene, and
Parables) that will be discussed.
4. To provide games and activities to the students to allow recreation while learning.
5. To evaluate what the students have learned through oral feedbacks and written
outputs.
