Characteristic, getting second language and strategy comprehend the


language
Child and adult have different way to think and to learn as well. Child has their own word
that makes them act in a different way with us as a adult. So we s a teacher have to know about
children that related with learning. Have you ever see the child always run and do many
activities as long as study ? how can we inside to their word so that we can control them and
give appropriate way to learn. Here are some childrens characteristics. Then, by knowing the
entire characteristic and kind of learning we can choose the best learning method to teach them.

Here are some characteristic for children five to seven years old. They are talking the
doing and listening, logical reason, understanding direct human interaction. Children are good at
imitate, they always imitate something they see or they heard. And some of them like interaction
with the group that makes them secure

In the other hand children at eight to ten years old have their own characteristic They are
differentiate between fact and fiction, asking question all the time, having definite views what
they like and dont like doing. Children are interested with something new in the word and they
have high curiosity and make them always ask. And also they like story but they can differentiate
which on is the fact and the fiction

You can use some activities to know whether they pay attention to you or not. We can use
language creatively by asking them to draw what they read. Beside that we can show them a
picture and they can tell something related with the picture.

In additions children have some characteristic to learn and act. And it is devided in to
four part. They are Cognitive aspects, Affective aspects, Psychomotor Aspects and for the stages
in learning English the children can be recognized at listening first and following by speaking,
reading and writing
The way to learning is divided by two kinds. They are consciously and unconsciously.
For conscious we call learning and for unconsciously we call language acquisition, for the
acquisition, the children do not realize that they are learning but they always get some
knowledge from the acquisition. For example when the teacher first came to the class and say
how are you to day and the student answer I am fine and that is done every day. For the
language learning, the way children learn is set up. For instance the learn expression to greet
person in the book written how are you? and they memorize it. They really need effort to learn
that.

By knowing all the characteristic and knowing how language is got, we came forward to
the next step. From that characteristic we can take some steps to teach children. We have to make
learning full of activity and we have to give a lot of example. Making some activities that include
physicality so they can move around by doing some game with the card or ball. We also give
them many examples so they can imitate by act or speak loudly. It will very good if we use
picture or video

For the learning language supposed to give them a lot of chunk of expression and use
clear instruction such us use action verb so they can directly know what we want. And then
decide them into some group for doing the perform, do the assignment, and finish the project
