Traceable
The LiSA fiber trays are available in eight different colours so that our customers can
visualise their infrastructure quickly and easily. Colours can be used to denote optical
performance or they can be used to denote different types of equipment such as serv-
ers, switches or storage. Colours help technicians to trace connections quicker which
in turn reduces the time taken for fault finding should a failure occur.
Scalable
With the MTP cable system portfolio from HUBER+SUHNER, it has never been easier
or faster to make connections in the data center. MTP Trunk cables can be pre-installed
between the LiSA rack and different zones on the data center and later, fiber
trays or modules can be added when needed.
MTP cable systems are compact and scalable and they allow users to grow their
infrastructure according their exact needs. The evolution of the data center is not al-
ways clear from the beginning, therefore the MTP design offers an inherent future-
proofing which can be exploited at any time during the lifecycle of the data center.

ity looks set to be the preferred interface for the higher data rates and subsequently we
will see data centers moving away from traditional LC based infrastructures. Due to the

same rack or alternatively make a complete transition to 40G or 100G when required.

 Case study
Sberbank: LiSA in the mega data center

To meet increasing IT demands, Russias Sberbank has built a mega data center in
Moscow relying heavily on LiSA fiber optic products from HUBER+SUHNER.

Until the commissioning of the new data center, the banks communications infrastruc-
ture was divided between various regionalised data centers but Sberbank needed to
consolidate its entire infrastructure within one centralised data center in order to
standardise its IT and to optimise resources.

The mega data center in Moscow is now one of the largest private data centers in
Europe, with over 90000 cabled connections. A key element of this data center is the
Storage Area Network (SAN) where the large number of fast and reliable data
channels required for this purpose represented a significant technological challenge.
Only by means of a considerably increased cabling density could the relevant
switches be physically connected.

As a result, the complex fiber optic structures of Sberbanks IT network required an

end-to-end solution with a high packing density. HUBER+SUHNERs LiSA fiber optic
connectivity products exactly met this requirement with LiSA racks forming the core
element of the Sberbanks entire SAN cabling system.

HUBER+SUHNER provided a solution which not only met the customers initial
demands, but which will also fulfil future requirements for ongoing IT consolidation with
even higher data rates.
