Welcome Letter
Welcome to the Powertrain Asia Pacific Summit 2017, which will be launched in Shanghai, Asian Clean
Fuels Association ("ACFA") is very pleased to provide support to the aforementioned event.
Continuing its eight years of engagement with and support for the powertrain industry, Duxes will host the
Powertrain Asia Pacific Summit 2017, on June 7-9 in Shanghai. The summit will feature three days of in-
depth testimony from government officials, researchers, analysts, and representatives of professional
associations and companies, regarding topics at the forefront of powertrain industry in Asia.
About ACFA
ACFA was created in 2000 as a not-for-profit organization to promote the use of clean fuels in Asia and the
Middle East. We believe that the use of clean fuels is one of the most compelling answers to improving the
quality of air.
Our mission is to promote and advance the interests of stakeholders in the use of clean fuels that benefit
the environment by leveraging the economic, technical and environmental attributes of these fuels. ACFA
operates by the principles of sound science and technology, cost efficiency and sustainability of the
environment.
ACFA focuses on fuel quality improvement and harmonization in the regions. We provide scientific
information and data as well as technical expertise and knowledge to several national policymaking bodies
to empower their clean fuels programs and efforts. We also collaborate with the oil and auto industries, non-
government organisations (NGOs) and the academia to facilitate a scientific approach to fuels legislation
across the region.
ACFA is a proud partner of the United Nations Environment Program Partnership for Clean Fuels and
Vehicles (UNEP-PCFV) and a Coordinating Council Member of Clean Air Initiatives for Asian Cities (CAI-
Asia).
ACFA publishes three different newsletters Fuel for Thoughts, In Focus and In Conversation, to provide
updated information on clean fuels and air quality. To subscribe to these complimentary newsletters, please
visit www.acfa.org.sg.
We believe that this event will be a platform for exchange and cooperation for every delegate.

Powertrain Asia Pacific Summit 2017
June 7-9,2017 Crowne Plaza Shanghai
Background
The global powertrain market is slated to expand at a 5.30% CAGR from 2014 to 2020, growing from a value of
US$365.6 bn in 2013 to US$524.6 bn by 2020. Among them, the Asia-Pacific powertrain market is the most rapidly
growing region. In recent years, the vehicle emission and fuel quality standards and fuel consumption limits
continue to tighten, which urging the OEMs, engine and transmission manufacturers, spare parts suppliers, oil
product suppliers and other players to upgrade their R & D technologies. How to balance product development and
cost becomes one of business concerns. Besides, with the environmental needs and policies subsidies, alternative
powertrains becomes a hot topic, while its technology is an obstacle. Moreover, the alternative fuels will also spur a
revolution of the entire powertrain supply system.
Since 2008, Duxes has forged a strong and productive relationship with the auto industry in China and the Asia
Pacific, leaving a lasting legacy of 15 successful summits in 8 years. During this Powertrain Asia Pacific Summit,
government officials, notable industry associations and organizations, alongside leading international companies,
will share with attendees their invaluable experiences and opinions on the Asian powertrain market. This three-day
event will provide an effective platform on which participants can familiarize themselves with the current status of
the market and hear explanations of development trends as well as relevant government policies and regulations in
order to gain better understanding of the market and optimizing their development strategies in China and Asia.
