TPACK LESSON PLAN TEMPLATE

Your Name: Renee CSU-Global

OTL 545
Morgan Course:

No specific course, but lesson could help with all

Subject / Course:
courses.
Topic: Integrating Collaboration into our School
How would you like to see collaboration in our core
Lesson Title:
main lab classes?
Lesson
Level: All 3 days
Duration:

SUPPORT YOUR CHOICES THROUGHOUT EVERY PHASE OF THE LESSON WITH

RESEARCH THAT SUPPORTS ITS EFFECTIVENESS.

Common Core or State Standard(s) & Learning Objective(s):

The learning objective is for students to give teachers insight into how they would like
to see more collaboration in their main lab courses.

This would address any common core standard that involves student collaboration
and begin to prepare students for the future working world they will be entering.

Target Audience
Knowing the Learner
Based on your survey data from earlier in the course, describe the target
audience for this lesson; what types of learning styles will you need to be
mindful of?
My target audience is any 7th-11th grader interested in participating. Ill be
more mindful of a visual lesson mixed with a conversation about the lesson.
Students who may participate in this lesson, may not have participated in
the survey data.

Pedagogies (Remember to consider relevance and career/workforce

readiness skills around what is being taught):
Pedagogies
(How are technology, content, and pedagogical knowledge working
together in this lesson?)
Technology: I plan on using a Prezi presentation to get student buy-in. Students will
then collaborate with online tools. I plan on giving them a list of tools and give a quick
review of the tools. The group will then decide on which tool they would like to use for
the collaboration.

Content: Students will provide insight for teachers on how they (the students) would
like to see more collaboration lesson embedded into their core curriculum classes.
The teacher will go over the 5 Es (Establish, Envision, Engineer, Execute, & Examine)
associated with effective collaboration.

Technology Being Used by Students

Pedagogy:
Visual learning through the Prezi presentation and any videos they may find in their
research. The colors used in the presentation are purposeful and thoughtfully used.

Auditory learning will occur through our conversation about the importance of
collaboration and listening to each other if the group decides to meet face to face
going over their research about the different collaboration types.

Kinesthetic learning will occur when students are working with the online tools
themselves.

Lesson Strategy and Required Materials

Lesson strategy is to get student buy in, introduce them to online
collaboration tools, and give them 3 days to collaborate and finalize their
ideas. During the Prezi presentation, I will scaffold and help students
through the Establish, Envision, and Engineer phase. I will be available for
support during the Execute and Examine phases through email, in person,
or on their collaboration tool site.

The tools needed could be chosen from the following:

googledocs
justpaste.it
pbworks.com
Word documents to document information within the 3 phases of
Establish, Envision, and Engineer.

SLIDE 3: Being able to cooperatively work with others far (across the world),
near (student next to you), and in between is a necessary skill you will need no
matter what path you take after completion of high school.

Feedback
Collaboration process is not complete until you examine your efforts.

Feedback Strategy (Frequent checks for understanding):

A daily check-in and offer support and feedback when needed. Feedback
and support will be given either in-person, through email, or through the
online collaboration tool being used.

Assessments (How do you know students met the learning objectives and
targets?)
TPACK LESSON PLAN TEMPLATE

Students will turn in a completed project and students will fill out a
questionnaire after the collaboration.

Modifications/Enrichments (implanted in this lesson or ideas for future

lesson delivery)
I feel that the lesson itself is an enrichment to the learning students are
currently receiving. They receive all content learning online and most often
dont have a collaboration project within most courses, except for Language
Arts.

Modifications to this lesson will be based on the work being produced.

Modifications could include accepting a partial fulfillment of each of the 5
Es required for collaboration, if students would like more time to complete
the project then it will be given, and/or accepting an incomplete project
(this will be the first time these students have had a formal collaboration
opportunity).
