Coal robot Project info

Safety of a person is primary concern in any industry especially in underground


coal mining industry. Underground communication is necessary to monitor
underground environmental parameter such as temperature, hazardous gases
and vibration and take necessary actions accordingly to avoid any types of
hazard. In this paper a robot based wireless monitoring and safety system for
underground mines using wireless communication protocol bluetooth is
proposed, which will take the data of environmental parameters of underground
mine using different sensors and send the data to control room using bluetooth.
Based on the parameters the corresponding engineer can give commands to the
robot whether to pick or drop the coal. This whole system will be placed on a
robot which is operated by LabVIEW. Use of wireless robot will reduce the human
intervention in security system and will improve the safety.

In our proposed system, LabVIEW has introduced for monitoring and controlling
the robot. Commands are sent from the control room via LabVIEW and Bluetooth
to the robot which is inside the mining industry. Based on the commands, robot
will move forward, backward, left, right, pick coal and drop coal. In LabVIEW we
have used visa tools for serial communication. And also we have implemented
iot in our proposed system for global monitoring and controlling the robot.
